As a disabled veteran with limited resources. I used a lease company who charged double for a new AC mini split in 2019 for over $14,000. The company was called annually for malfunctioning and more frequently over year until burning out five days ago. No service for a new unit in the cold weather wasn’t as traumatic thanks to blankets and pets. I feel horrible for homeless looking for places to stay warm and pets left outside in the winter. Companies like this who leave customers out cold or hot discourage hope or and remind God watches. I know I can be hospitalized at my request for overwhelming stress, but I have no one to care for my pets. So I’ll suffer with them in the cold. Update after phone call with company. After they stated the issue is with AC and not company I disagreed. A service the technician bypassed a safety so I could be warm a few months ago in winter before “repairing” unit. I would testify to God almighty on the Bible before a judge how the technician described in details I shouldn’t know. Then a manager ask how I could have a different opinion after a day. San Antonio weather is unpredictable. And he started to blame unit and not the company. For transparency and accountability for frustrations with a company to pass blame. I can’t believe I was an army nurse and have people still argue with me like I’m ignorant.

Called these guys last year and the price for R-22 was a fair price. This year I set up another appointment and asked how much R-22 ran. And again it was pretty reasonable. I just cancelled my appointment because I'm getting a new unit put in through a friend. But Alamo has been great. Ray was the man sent to my house last year. He was very nice and talked me through what he was doing. As always call around and try to get the best price. But make sure you call Alamo.

I had to wait a while because San Antonio is so big now.
All AC guys are freaking busy.
But the nicest man.. Roman fixed my AC in 20 minutes.

The A/C tech quoted $2800 for labor on a new compressor covered under warranty. When a month before I paid them $2000 for a new repair to only have my A/C work for literally only a month. Please use this company at your own risk!

It's genuinely refreshing to share a positive experience, especially when it comes to home repairs! I recently had an issue with my AC system where the drain pan was cracked. Other companies came out, took a look, and immediately declared that the entire air handler needed to be replaced, along with the pan, citing it as an impossible fix. The estimates I received were astronomical and frankly, quite disheartening as the air handler itself was functioning perfectly.

Then I called Alamo AC. Unlike the others, they didn't immediately jump to the most expensive solution. To my relief, they determined that only the drain pan needed replacement and that it was indeed a feasible repair without disturbing the perfectly good air handler.

Alamo AC's team was professional, efficient, and clearly prioritized doing what was right for the customer over simply upselling a major replacement. They completed the drain pan replacement expertly, and my AC is now running perfectly. Not only did they save me a significant amount of money, but they also demonstrated honesty and integrity, qualities that are truly invaluable.

This company is a scam. We had a brand new unit put into our house right before we moved in. We have had countless issues from day one. Heat issues. AC issues. Nonstop issues. FOR FIVE YEARS. The company has come out numerous times….in excess of 20 times. And yet, here we sit in 95 degree heat and we have no AC still five years later. We haven’t been able to sleep in our master bedroom any time it gets warm out in years. They replaced the unit under warrantee (and still charged us several thousand for labor), still did not fix the problem. Then they claimed something was “eroding the wires.” Now the latest issue is the coils need to be replaced. They told us they ordered those in January. For some reason it has taken them over a month to get a part and install it. We still dont have coils and we still dont have a working unit, months and years later. This is unacceptable. It is very clear that they installed the incorrect unit for the size of this home, and they are unwilling to make it right. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. It is a scam.

Let me start off by saying that i could not be happier with Dustin and the folks at Above and Beyond. We couldn't even get our boxes unpacked as we moved into our newly purchased home before we noticed some issues with our air conditioning. The pre-purchase home inspection kinda failed us as they told us that we still had life in our unit before having to invest in a new system. Now if you have ever bought a house then you know the struggle of potentially having to sink money into something you were not expecting, especially something that can cost as must as an ac unit. A few phone calls later to a couple of Air Conditioning outfits and i stumble across this Gem of a company. Everything about them just felt like they went above normal protocol. Between the interaction with me and with my ac unit i knew that i had the right company for the job. I am a very proud penny pincher but when it comes to my ac unit i need someone who knows what they are doing. This is something that my wife and kids will constantly be breathing while home and i want to make sure that everything is safe. Let me tell you that the inspection they did to my ENTIRE system makes me feel better about my kids having a safe place to live. Needless to say i had my entire system replaced as it was an old unit at a really good price compared to some of the other well known outfits. Thank you Dustin and thank you to the folks at Above and Beyond for the honest and great work you provide. By the way, i hardly ever do reviews but these guys really do deserve the kudos. much appreciation to you guys.

A gentleman by the name of Victor showed up on time and was not only very professional, but very respectful. He was very thorough during his work and was completely honest. We had a great experience, and would most definitely have them come back for any of our A/C needs. Great job!!!

Their name says it all! 'Above & Beyond' is not just a name that sounds good, it exemplifies their core values, which I identified as integrity, caring and excellence! No surprises. Matthew came out and accessed the issues on the split heat pumps and gave us a quote for the work needed. Victor, Chris and Stevie arrived on time the next day and serviced both units. The invoice was for the exact price quoted. To boot, Tommy, the GM, took care of all the paperwork to get the units registered for warranty! I highly recommend A&B HVAC!

Called these folks early Saturday morning for a non working/cooling AC. They were at my home pretty quickly afterwards. Gerald quickly diagnosed the issue and explained everything thoroughly and before starting. Was quick to finish, cleaned up afterwards and on to the next call. Very personable individual. Am reading up on their maintenance plan and seriously thinking of enrolling. Would definitely recommend these folks!

They installed a new AC system in my home. They provided portable units until they were able to install the AC. Did a great job. Very efficient, communicated very well. I would definitely recommend them if you are having issues with your AC!

AC stopped cooling overnight and with having small kids in the house is was important to get it fixed as soon as possible. Gerald responded immediately and showed up the same day, at a time that was convenient for my schedule, and repaired my AC unit. Gerald also showed me how to maintain and clean the unit to prevent future breakdowns.

I want to commend this great company for their professional customer service. The manager, Tommy was extremely responsive with a small issue and went above and beyond to call me back several times to address the issue at hand. I cannot say enough great things about this company! They were quick to address our service issue and they were so professional and honest. The gentleman that came to the service call were also just fantastic and completed our job in its entirety without any “surprise” price increases that many companies do now a days. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Matt has come out twice now for us and he was so pleasant to work with! He didnt pressure me into buying any package deal or service i couldnt afford. I would feel comfortable to call him again for help.

Our AC unit was running 15 + hours a day and not very well. Matt came out and diagnosed multiple issues, which warranted a new unit. They also noted that my previous two stage unit was not appropriate for San Antonio. My humidity levels were 60-74%

The NEXT day, Victor, TJ and Alex arrived at 9 AM to begin removal of entire HVAC system (interior and exterior components). The new Carrier heating and cooling system was installed by 1PM. The house cooled quickly and has 51% humidity.

The installation was professional. They corrected previous installation issues, such as electrical wiring rerouting, etc. They provided focused, professional, highly competent and conscientious service. They notably referred to one another as "sir" during the installation. Words and attitudes matter !

I highly recommend them for HVAC service. They will be my single source provider in the future.

Tommy was very professional and very thorough. He explained the process of what would happen and eased any concerns. He was very in-depth and his knowledge was noticeable. Tommy has communicated like no other. When it comes to a purchase like this, communication communication communication is top of the list. The installers came onsite and didn’t waste any time. They did the install and cleaned up everything before leaving. I would recommend Above and Beyond A/C to anyone looking for AC needs. It didn’t take Above and Beyond to bid and wait to see what others offered. Their first quote was the lowest I got out of the 3 highly recommended companies.
