We had an excellent experience hiring Campbell & Ferrara to redo our backyard patio. Chris Myers, the landscape designer, was very helpful and patient with us guiding us through the process and offering ideas. The crew performed very high quality work and even had ideas to improve the project once it was underway. Overall they did a great job on a challenging project with difficult access to the site and we are very pleased with the result.

Great business to work with as Peter is extremely knowledgeable and responsive. Highly recommend.

Working with Campbell and Ferrara was easy. I worked with Peter Rhyne, who was extremely responsive and provided me with detailed designs that reflected our discussions. When it came time to do the work, the team worked all day, often past 5pm, in order to finish in a timely manner. The final product, an outdoor fireplace, looks great and fits in with the house and yard. I am happy to recommend them.

We used Campbell and Ferrara because we want to use native plants and to having plants that improve not just our backyard but also our neighborhood's overall environment of animals and plants. Chris Myers did a good job at designing and overseeing project. The work crew did a good and neat job and were impressive in their ability to adapt to the roots from out neighbor's trees and other unexpected features. It would, after all, have made no sense to have pretty plants but trees die that are on our neighbor's lot presently give us very pleasant shade.

I recommend Campbell and Ferrara.

Update: Three years later, Peter and his teams continue to do excellent work for us, whether it's landscaping our pond, installing a new wooden fence with several 6x6 tall posts, or hardscaping a section of our backyard. I couldn't recommend Peter or Campbell & Ferrara more!

Campbell and Ferrara has always been THE renowned landscaping company in the area. I assumed that they would not be within my budget, and was quite surprised at their competitive pricing and the extent of their professional service. Their landscape architect, Jeff Trafidlo, came to inspect the property and project. First of all, Jeff was friendly, warm and very patient. He listened carefully to what my thoughts and needs were. He was quite meticulous in studying the area under consideration. Jeff presented a very creative and professional proposal with elaborate drawings and detailed estimates. The estimate was, indeed, the final cost. I credit that to Jeff’s exacting evaluation of the project. He also showed up daily to inspect and supervise.

The crew worked tirelessly, showing up early each day and working through some pretty horrendous weather. They showed exceptional talent in their stone and brick work. They were patient and exacting.

Through the many years of construction and renovation on my home, this project went unparelled due to the degree of professionalism and talent of Jeff Trafidlo, as well as the crew’s hard work and craftsmanship.

I would highly recommend Campbell and Ferrara, Jeff Trafidlo, and their crew to anyone, anyday!

Chris Myers worked with me to design landscape improvements to meet both my budget and goal of increasing native plants. We had many discussions fine tuning the proposal and he was there each day of installation. When he was offsite the crew was friendly and focused. Can't wait for the spring to enjoy the results!

Campbell & Ferrara did an excellent job working with me to make my backyard lower maintenance, more functional, but still beautiful! Peter Rhyne put together a design that reduced the amount of weeding and mulching required to keep my backyard looking great but still gives me room to garden and enjoy a variety of flowers and plants - I wanted a mix of the two and he provided! The crew did a great job bringing the vision to life and were always punctual. It was very easy to work with the entire team and I would definitely call them again for future landscaping projects!

Chris Myers and his team did a great job with both the hardscape and design/planting in my front yard. Chris was very easy to work with and sensitive to my budget needs and schedule. We met several times to ensure that I was happy with the selection for the front walkway. The installation in December went well and I love the look. Planting was just completed this spring and looks great as well. Things are starting to bloom and I'm looking forward to enjoying it more as the weather gets nicer!! Thanks Chris! We hired Campbell Ferrara (through Chris Myers) for a major reconstruction of the deck, hardscaping, and lighting on the sides and back of our house. It was a large project that took several months but was completed on schedule (despite several expansions of the job by us) and with excellent work. This was also an especially tricky project because there is limited access to the sides and back of our house where the work was being done. Chris did a great job of communicating what was happening when and what decisions we needed to make, as well as managing subcontractors such as the electricians and deck company. And they were very flexible in accommodating several changes that we requested over the course of the project. We now have extremely high-quality flagstone paths surrounding the sides and back of the house, plus a great looking trex deck and new outdoor lighting throughout the property. Terrific work all around!

Our first experience with Campbell & Ferrara and project went very well overall. We really appreciated the professionalism of the Landscape Designer, Mr. Christopher Myers, in particular. He was extremely knowledgeable and informative on all the options and best methods to meet our needs. About mid-way through, we were so impressed with their work we actually expanded our project and Mr. Myers worked to develop a plan of action immediately which saved valuable time. All the work site teams worked well with the existing infrastructure and landscaping. At the end of every work day the team cleaned everything up nicely. Our neighbors have been impressed as well. We will certainly turn to Campbell & Ferrara again for all our outdoor landscaping needs. Thank you Chris and thank you team Campbell & Ferrara!

Campbell & Ferrara designed and installed an expanded patio for us. From start to finish, they were a pleasure to work with. The Landscape Designer, Chris Czech, patiently went over our options and made recommendations for plants and building material that resulted in an end product that blends perfectly with the existing landscaping and greatly enhances our outdoor living space. The installation crew was highly skilled and efficient. Their work was flawless, and they left everything in perfect order at the end of every day on the three-day job. Campbell & Ferrara deserves my highest recommendation.

We just finished our landscaping project today and my wife and I are both very pleased with the results. There were three main parts of the project; installation of a bamboo barrier to keep out bamboo from the GW Parkway, removal of old plants and installation of new plants in our landscape and installation of landscape low voltage landscape lighting. We worked with Chris Myers, who designed a very good plan following our initial meeting and presented it professionally including a booklet he created showing pictures of the plants he had selected and alternative plants we could use. As a note, we had just moved from Florida and weren't familiar with the plants that would work best in NOVA.

He modified his initial plan from our meeting and came up with a design that we used. Their crew of four arrived at 8:00am on the scheduled start date and worked very hard on day one removing a rock retaining wall, digging the trench for the bamboo barrier and removing a lot of bamboo roots. It was tough work in the rocky and heavy clay soil. They continued their good work throughout the week installing the plant material, landscape lighting, moving a few existing plants/trees into the new design, watering everything in, putting down the mulch and cleaning up. Communication with Chris worked well and the changes we made during the project were documented in change orders so there wasn't any misunderstanding. We did have some "scope creep" as Chris called it. They finished today, just as Chris said they would. I'm pleased we selected Campbell & Ferrara for our project and enjoyed working with Chris, We couldn't be happier with the results. I'm looking forward to tonight so I can see the landscape lighting. Everything was done professionally and their crew was friendly and very hardworking. Their operations and results show why they've been in business since 1945.

We met with Chris Myers the landscape architect and he listened to exactly what we were asking for, shared some thoughts and designed exactly what we were hoping for in the end. He was open to suggestions and came up with great solutions should situations arise. He was very attentive to the details. He was terrific to work with.
Allen the project manager was great. His philosophy was that he wanted us to really love the work he and his crew executed in the end and make it like he would want for himself. He accomplished that! His crew was professional, friendly and cleaned up everything at the days end.

We had let much of our yard go, and wanted to utilize our small back yard in a way that allowed us to enjoy it more. Thus, we decided to put in a patio. Chris Myers came up with a very nice design, and despite my trepidation regarding costs, we agreed since the concept he created was so lovely.

The crew was fantastic, and we appreciate their hard work to implement Chris's design. It was amazing to watch the daily progress, and see how they creatively put the stone wall and patio together.
