To that end, they are proactive in providing maintenance & looking after the safety needs of their customers. My late mother & grandparents patronized this firm for two generations plus, beginning in those long ago times when the first Pollards resided in a modest white home on Chapman St. This company is an asset to the community & is one of the finest local businesses with which Ashland is blessed. Their service technicians, such as Charlie, are the best in the business.

Put in a service request online on Christmas day, got an email confirmation at 8:30am the next day and they were out by 11am that day. Super fast, reliable, and easy to work with.

First, they were one of only a few who still works on older fuel oil systems. Team was cordial and efficient, explaining and answering all my questions. Since the system was almost 30 years old, I went ahead and invested in a new boiler. Kevin & Charlie were on time and removed the old and installed the new in short order. While I really won't know how well it works until it gets cold, everything looks great!

Dennis was awesome and came immediately when we called after hours. He also had our problem fixed quickly. We are very appreciative of his service!

Great company you can trust for a neat and clean install. Had a system installed in a 100 year old house with a basement that never had AC. Dennis and Travis are experts at metal and duct work making the duct system pleasing to the eye.

$160 seems like a lot to pay for a broken wire. But they came the same day I called, and knew exactly how to locate the problem and fix it. The technician was polite and got the job done quickly. Worth it!

In the past, Pollard has done routine maintenance on our oil furnace but last night the furnace stopped when it was about 15° outside. I called them at 7 AM the next morning and they sent a technician to repair our furnace Immediately. Wow! Who gives such prompt service in 2026! And A+ on the repair. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding service – truly saved my winter

I cannot say enough good things about JM Pollard and their technician Stephen. I called them for additional help after my oil furnace began producing black smoke and I needed a deeper diagnostic to understand what was going on. I was freezing, stressed, and worried I might be facing a very expensive replacement in the middle of winter.

My furnace is located in a very tight, difficult-to-access closet, but that did not deter Stephen at all. He was thorough, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to properly diagnose the issue using professional diagnostic tools — including draft and combustion testing — and performed an extensive, hands-on cleaning despite the challenging setup.

Stephen traced the problem to a severely clogged air band, which was restricting combustion air and causing the burner to run too rich, creating soot and black smoke. Once the air band was properly cleaned and adjusted, and final combustion adjustments were made, the furnace began running cleanly again with proper draft and verified safe combustion.

He explained everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure the system was operating correctly before leaving. He also provided honest, realistic guidance on long-term planning without pressure or scare tactics.

Thanks to JM Pollard and Stephen, I now have safe, reliable heat and the ability to plan next steps calmly instead of dealing with an emergency situation. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who needs a careful, thorough evaluation of an oil heating system.
