The installation of the furnace heater and air conditioning unit was completed in a day AMD a half. They cleaned up afterwards and did an excellent job and at an affordable price and better than the competition in the DMV area. Will highly recommend this company.

I don’t leave review often but I felt like I had to based on how professional and straight forward Mike is. My heating system stopped working and a good friend of mine advised to me reach out to Ranger HVAC. The company representative responded in a timely manner and the diagnostic indicated issue with my blower motor, which required replacement. Ranger HVAC team brought in a new motor and replaced it at precise scheduled time with no delay.

Mike was professional and easy to work with. He installed a new furnace. He took his time and explained to me the workings of the system and went extra miles to do a routine check after installation. I was very happy with the purchase and service. I will use him for my duct cleaning.

Honest business man. I’ve had several HVAC companies out to service our old machine and keep it going. The professional service of this company far exceeds all others. Best quote we received for full replacement, he even followed up to insure the system was working properly after visiting.

Having the heat cut out in the dead of winter, with 3 small children is super stressful. I always know I am a phone call away from same day or next day service.

If parts need to be repaired he rolls that cost into his service fee so your not paying for him to come out on top of the parts. Like I said honest, and talented at what he does.

I don’t write reviews often if ever but I wanted to give back when he has been so good to our family. He loves dogs and is very respectful went entering the home. Every time I try to contact him I get a return call the same day. He confirms appointments via text and it’s easy to reach out. I can’t say enough good things about this company. I feel confident in using him to replace our unit and know for years to come we will have a piece of mind that everything is taken care of.

Like I said our 20+ Year system is very unreliable but having a reliable company to call has given my family piece of mind. Highly recommend!!!

Mike from Ranger HVAC did a great job with a complex repair of my evaporator coils and a blown compressor. The prices were fair, he was timely with each of his multiple appointments, and he was pleasant to work with. I'd definitely recommend him and Ranger to a friend.

My HVAC system was down. I gave Ranger HVAC a call for service and the response was prompt. My system was serviced and in operation in less than an hour - that's what we call service with exactitude. Mike from Ranger HVAC services provides high quality service. He is punctual, knowledgeable and takes the time to explain the services that he is providing and explaining why he does whatever service he is doing to your unit. Unlike other companies he does not try to rip you off with unnecessary services and upgrades. Because of his honesty, Mike saved me from purchasing a new HVAC system that was not needed. McCarthy Services insisted my HVAC needed replacement and was trying to charge me $7000 to replace a nine year old unit. I did not trust McCarthy services because they hardly even check my unit, they insisted I purchase a new unit from them. I had a second consultation with Ranger HVAC services. Mike came to my house and clean and dusted the Units motor and in less than fifteen minutes had my unit working again.
I highly recommend his services due to his honesty, reasonable prices, professionalism and experience.

I had my HVAC ducts cleaned by Ranger HVAC this past week and was so impressed by their work. I saw what a comprehensive process it is and I’m very pleased with the result. Staff always cover their feet when in your home and are very careful when removing and replacing the vent covers and moving their ladders and equipment around. Very fair price as well. Ranger HVAC installed a new HVAC system at my house yesterday. The company did an excellent job communicating with me from the time I requested a free estimate to the morning they arrived on site. They were careful to cover all the traffic areas and wore shoe covers. A team of three, including Michael the leader, completed the install to my satisfaction. They were patient to answer all my questions.
I selected Ranger HVAC based on their knowledge, fair price, and honesty. Michael, who gave me the estimate, spoke from experience,
having been himself an HVAC technician. The company didn't try to sell me what I didn't need. I felt that the information I received could be trusted. And indeed they delivered as promised!
I am very pleased with the install and I highly recommend this company.

Our experience with Ranger HVAC was great. Our ground level HVAC system crashed after 20 years in the middle of a heatwave, in 2022. We called and scheduled a appointment for an estimate on a new system, Mike came out and explained all our options and helped us to pick the best system for us and our home. He was very professional and thorough. The whole experience was great and we would recommend Ranger HVAC to our friends and family. The workers that came out and installed the system were extremely nice and cleaned up after they were finished and were very informative about the whole new world of smart HVAC systems. The office support kept us informed of all the visits and invoices were completed electronically.

Update
We were so satisfied with Ranger's customer service that, four months later, when our 2nd HVAC system in the attic crashed on the new year's eve, after 20 years, we called Mike to install a new one. We couldn't be more happy with the results.

Ranger was available, efficient, clean, professional, and knowledgeable. I would use them again and can recommend them.

Detail: I came home to a very cold house because my heater was not working. I reached out to Ranger and they told me that they would come out that same day. The person that came was nice, professional, and wore booties over his shoes while in the house. He spent several hours working on the unit, and identified a problem with a limit switch. He initiated a work around and said that a new limit switch is needed. After confirming the purchase with me (an expensive part) he put in the order. After the part came in, he returned a few days later to install the part. Again, he stayed for several hours to make sure everything was running correctly. The overall experience was great - they were able to come quickly, identify the issue, spent many hours to make sure things were running correctly, and acted professionally the whole time.

Notes:
1. They do charge a fee to come identify the problem, but I felt it was a fair price, especially for the time spent on the issue.
2. This issue was 1.5 months prior to this review and the issue has not recurred.

Ranger is professional, timely, and they provide unbridled service! Maintaining a relationship with my HVAC service is key because they know my unit as well as my dwelling and it helps tremendously with diagnostics and just overall navigation of your home. I would recommend them over and over. After servicing my unit, Sean went through details, with photos- I was truly impressed at the energy that went into the work. Everyone you deal with is so polite, patient and trustworthy. I’ll be using them exclusively moving forward.

Bottom line. Things have changed. Ask Mike to break down his parts and labor costs for you. My guess - he will not because it’s very hard to justify…continue reading if you want to know why.

I’m sorry to say that Mike returned for HVAC work today and though he was pleasant to work with, he seemed to over charge my wife for the work that he did and would not back off of his irrational insistence (in the face of clear evidence, see below) that I should accept his prices because they were a flat rate and on a brochure??

First, let me say that I fully support much better pay for teachers and less pay for Realtors making 6% from the seller for both the buyer and seller agent?? (currently $36k on a 600k house) with some expertise and now only ~ 3 days to sell with many many offers. Yes that’s 3 days maybe a week for two people to make $36k. Wow!

( if this resonates with you, Google “clever”, they are excellent! I don’t receive anything from them they saved me ~ $15k)

Ok, this case is not quite as bad as a realtor…but close.

Let’s investigate.
- Time: 1hr 17min (see arrival/departure on house cam)

- Task: Trouble shoot, replace broken capacitor, cut and strip wire & replace connector, check R-410 in two AC units, add 2.7 lbs of R-410. All work is in the open with easy access. Again 1hr17min

Cost of materials:
Capacitor: $17-$30
R-410a: $4-$8 per lb wholesale, $30-$80 installed (includes skill/expertise/tools etc)
Connector: $16 for a whole box

Total parts: likely $38.85

$30 + $80x2.7lbs added + $16 = $262.00max…although the likely cost of parts is $17+$8x2.7lbs + .25c = $38.85likely

Total labor: 1 hr 17 min for $864 or $760 per hour likely.

Overall, Mike spent 1 hour and 17min and paid $903 for roughly $38.85 parts & $760 per hour in labor.

I’m sorry to say that anyone charging this kind of price for this level of work while everything is still available in the supply chains is taking advantage.

I am in full support of small business, but this is over the top price gouging against people who don’t know better. Just because they don’t know better doesn’t mean you can take advantage of them. Do not believe him when he says “I’m giving you a deal” and “look how low this is compared to my ‘normal’ prices it’s a flat rate”

I told Mike after discussing with someone who knows HVAC pricing to lower his $903 to $650 (still high) and I would be satisfied, but he refused, compelling me to write this review.

If you are still reading, I hope you are able find good HVAC help or that Mike has finally realized that he can’t gouge his customers forever and get away with it.
