To my dismay, the stains reappeared a few hours later. i texted malachi who informed me that sometimes stains reoccur due to a phenomenon known as 'wicking.' He graciously offered to return the following day. True to his word, malachi came back promptly and gave the carpet another round of cleaning. i'm pleased to say that all the stains have vanished.
