We had major water damage in our kitchen and got connected with Capital Construction through our insurance. They were super communicative and walked me through what to expect. Once the floor was dried and repaired, they gave us a 3-week timeline to rebuild—and stuck to it. They even found asbestos and coordinated with a removal service and our insurance. The job's done now, and we're really happy with how it turned out. Great team, great results.

We had a sewage backup in our downstairs bathroom and within a day of creating an insurance claim, Capital had contacted us and arrived to start the drying and remediation process. Within two weeks we had Andrew and Sam in constant contact with us, helping us figure out what the next steps were, picking out materials and colors and making sure we were informed of the timeline for the repairs and checking in constantly to make sure we were satisfied! All of the contractors were amazing, professional, efficient and very knowledgeable! We could not be happier with the services we received and the people who worked diligently to get our house into better shape than prior to the backup!

Thank goodness for repairs to leaky pipes! What started with a leaky pipe in a bathroom turned into a complete gut/remodel of our very dated 1950's kitchen.

Prior to the leaky pipe project, we were in the midst of securing quotes on a complete remodel of our kitchen along with a portion of our dining room - new windows, new doors, new flooring, countertops, cabinets, the whole shebang. Quotes varied in terms and prices, but none were satisfactory. So, we invited Capitol Construction Services, Inc. to provide a quote and the rest is history.

Our remodel started with Capitol's lead designer. A solid pro both at perfecting designs and managing client relations. Honestly, she worried more about all of the measurements, cabinets, costs and so much more than I did, and I'm the homeowner. Her keen eye for design and breadth of knowledge of available products allowed for all of the modifications we were seeking while remaining within budget. Looking back, one quickly realizes why so much thought and time is needed to build out a solid design - it provides for peace of mind when the craftsmen come into your home and rip apart your rooms. What a sight! Knowing the project was in very capable hands meant the world to us.

And speaking of Capitol's team of craftsmen, all we can say is Thank You! From the Project Manager to the carpenters, the plumbers, the tile guys, the floor guys, the painters, the brick layers to the fellow who delivers needed materials for the job ALL were professional, excellent at their skill, expedient, respectful and very courteous.

The day after Christmas, on December 26, 2024, I experienced a devastating house fire. The fire started in my living room and burned long enough that smoke filled my entire home, making it unlivable and requiring a complete remodel.

Shortly after the fire, Andrew from Capital Construction was one of the very first people on the scene. At a time of devastation, high emotions, and uncertainty, Andrew provided reassurance, kindness, and genuine empathy. As the main contractor, he was never pushy or focused on selling Capital Construction’s services. While multiple contractors were driving by and leaving business cards, Andrew’s calm professionalism and compassion made Capital Construction my clear first choice.

During the first few months, Andrew maintained constant and consistent communication, keeping me fully informed every step of the way. Soon after, I met Nick, who was in charge of handling the contents inside my home. Like Andrew, Nick went above and beyond — always communicating clearly and making sure I knew what was happening and when. He and his crew even took the initiative to gather items of personal or financial importance, such as credit cards, IDs, photos, and jewelry and get them to me immediately.

Andrew and Nick also referred me to other companies that matched their same level of professionalism. Tom from Hamlet Dry Cleaning is a perfect example — he and his team went above and beyond to help my family regain a sense of normalcy during such a difficult time.

Melissa at Capital Construction was incredibly helpful in coordinating communication between the insurance company, Andrew, and me. The entire team was flexible, responsive, and understanding when it came to navigating insurance payments and documentation — even helping send insurance checks to my parents, who are on the deed but live out of town.

As the months passed and the remodel came together, I was introduced to Chris, the Project Manager, who continued the same excellent level of communication. Tayler was an absolute joy to work with — we spent nearly two hours together choosing every detail, from door knobs and light fixtures to fans, faucets, and sinks. Her patience, attention to detail, and design insight made the process enjoyable despite the circumstances.

When the remodel was complete, I walked into what felt like a brand-new home. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations. Nick’s team remained responsive and respectful when addressing final touch-ups, and the entire Capital Construction staff continued to offer support even after the project was done.

While it’s bittersweet to see our collaboration come to an end, I’m forever grateful for the compassion, professionalism, and excellence that Capital Construction brought to such a difficult chapter of my life.

I 100% recommend Capital Construction to anyone in need of a home remodel or restoration. They turned my disaster into a fresh start — and treated me like family every step of the way.

A huge tree hit my house, knocking out the roof, some rafters, my walk in closet, and, because it was raining heavily, lots of water damage below. It was a mess!
The evening it happened, Andrew from Capital Construction and Nick from Capital Fire and Water came over and took care of things. They were kind and compassionate, two things which made a huge difference at that moment. They understood I was in shock.

They were also incredibly knowledgeable and competent and efficient. They knew what had to be done.

The house was dried out for days; the tree was removed.

They came up with a plan for repairing the damage once the damaging forces were stopped.

Andrew is incredibly organized and managed the project from start to finish. I always felt like he knew what was going on. He clearly communicated well with his workers. He also had a good sense of the time frame though he wouldn’t give me dates unless he was sure - great so I wouldn’t build up my expectations. It took about six months to finish the repairs which were quite extensive.

His workers were unfailingly friendly and kind and thoughtful as well as excellent craftsmen. The work was done to an exacting standard. I can find no fault with any of it.

Overall I simply could not be more satisfied. Every person there was someone I would be honored to call a friend. I recommend them 100%.

Our experience was wonderful from beginning to end. My husband & I, at first, thought we should seek larger companies to purchase & install carpeting throughout most of our home. We were so wrong. Marie Mahoney from Floor Coverings International came to us after our initial contact. We were able to see samples in our home, no charge. The installers were professional, courteous, respectful and enthusiastic. We experienced absolutely NO ISSUES whatsoever. Amazing! They even removed & discarded the old carpeting & moved furniture as needed. We will recommend this company to all who will listen or ask. And the product itself is marvelous. They worked fast and non-stop until the project was completed. Did an excellent job. This company does it all from helping to choose the right flooring within a budget using a well-stocked mobile showroom, moving furniture (other companies would not move furniture), repairing sub-flooring if needed and following up on the installation by the owner. Pricing was in-line with other quotes. Highly recommend Marie and her team!

I had luxurious Vinyl installed in the whole house, it only took 3 days. The entire crew did an outstanding job and their customer service was superb. I highly recommend this company as they are extremely professional.

Marie came out within a couple of days of us contacting FCI with samples for both flooring and tile samples for backsplash. We had plenty of both to consider but were able to find what we wanted very quickly. They were flexible in coming out the day after we had new counters installed and they did the flooring, then the backsplash. They look terrific and we felt the cost was very customer-friendly, and the work being the highest in quality. We highly recommend them.

Floor Coverings International-Midlothian is a amazing floor company. I had luxury vinyl tile installed in my kitchen and utility room and I am so pleased with the results. Love the fact they are a family owned business and it was so convenient they bring floor samples to your house so you can see what it will look like in your home. I plan to use them in the future to replace Berber carpet in my Florida room. I highly recommend this company. Good job Marie! I look forward to working with your company again.
