I normally post bad reviews, but this place makes me feel it’s necessary to write a positive one. Richmond plumbing has the best customer service by far than anybody else and anything else. If everybody else’s customer service was this supreme the world would truly be a better place.

This is exactly the kind of place I was looking for. Knowledge staff that's there to help and they had the part I couldn't find at Lowe's all for a good price. Plus I did have to walk half a mile to find the section I needed or try to hunt down an employee.

On the way out I was thinking "Man, I should've come here first." Then I looked at the card the guy gave me and it reads "You should have come here first."

I asked a simple question about thread count on a certain pipe to a man who looked like he was the owner. My question was met with a lot of grief and him complaining to me that he was no engineer and could not help me. As if I was an inconvenience to his team of people working. I have pretty thick skin and don’t really care too much about people being a jerk to me but when you’re a customer being criticized in from of other customers and your employees, it’s work bringing up. Please work on this. Won’t be coming here again.

As a civilian unfamiliar with the technical jargon of the profession of fitting pipes to plugs, of faucets to fixtures, and of drains, & of drips, I am ashamed to admit that I never understood the very special challenges faced by members of the very special guild of fitters of sinks, septics, and sewers when they are forced to communicate with John Q. Public. Please allow me to confess to my ignorance and my deserved disgrace: Today (Wednesday, 15 Sepetmber, 2021, 4PM) when I arrived at Richmond Plumbing Specialties, Inc. needing help with a leaky faucet- I forgot to bring a pretty picture of my problem for the proprietor. I also wasn't prepared with answers to his questions about centered-diameters or distanced-circumferences or whatever-it-was he was asking me. I felt really, really, really awful, and I felt really, really, really sad about not being better prepared to being able to help the man help me. So you should understand that the man was certainly entitled to be visibly frustrated with me for making his job so extremely difficult as I apologized for not having a photograph, and you should acknowledge that the man was certainly entitled to verbally chastise me- my apologies (for not having a concise and clear and precise and professional description of what I wanted) obviously inadequate for him to maintain anything other than the mien of condescension he deservedly wore upon his noble contenance- for not realizing that he had better things to do with his time than waste a moment of professional decorum or a second of common curtesy or a filllip of mature-adult manners with a dumb rube like me who just wanted to stop a leaky faucet. I feel sick to my stomach that the dude at Richmond Plumbing Specialties, Inc. was so distressed. Maybe this pretty picture of a faucet that doesn't leak anymore will make him feel better. I sure hope so. It makes me feel better.

Fantastic. I first went to a large, knowledgeable and well-staffed commercial plumbing supply near my house for help with an old shower faucet assembly with no brand markings. They did a thorough search of their catalogs and consulted all their staff, but couldn't figure out what it was, so (to their great credit) they very helpfully sent me down here and told me to talk to Pete. When I got here Pete took one look at it and identified it immediately. He didn't have it in stock (the manufacturer had long ago gone out of business), but he knew where he could get it. Five stars.

I am not a plumber. I just like to do my own house repairs when I can. The two things I love most about Richmond Plumbing Specialties are that they always have whatever part I need and that they never make me feel stupid, even though I am stupid when it comes to plumbing stuff.

I can go in with a broken part and they’ll help me figure out what I need to do the repair and usually give me a couple tips for how to best fix my problem. Without this shop I’d spend at least twice the time on every repair.

Doing a little plumbing today and needed to replace my tub stems and handles. Went to Lowes and didn't really think I would find my kind, as my house was built in the 60's. They didn't, but another customer walked by and said to try Richmond Plumbing Specialties. So I went and they had exactly what I needed. They were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

I couldn't find a part for my old connection anywhere near me, but Richmond Plumbing Specialties had it. As soon as the gentleman at the counter looked at it, he knew it, thought he had some, and, after a few minutes in the back, came out with two. I took them both as they have been discontinued. Definitely worth the drive from Midlothian. He was my last resort this time, but he will be my first choice from now on. And open on Saturdays to boot!

Had a couple of plumbing issues, bathtub and clothes washer. Took the part to the local big box, no idea. they sent me to the local plumbing supplier. The answer was, never seen this, will need to cut out and replace. My guess, easily over $1,000 if I call in a plumber. They did suggest Richmond Plumbing Specialties. Thank God they did. I put the parts down on the table. Knew the parts, had the parts. One section showed me quickly how to rebuild. My cost, $70. Next time, I'll skip everyone else and go too Richmond Plumbing Specialties. Thanks so much!

My son bought a townhouse built in 1972 and the plumbing needed repairs, everywhere I went looking for plumbing supplies no one had the stuff we needed, until I went to Richmond Plumbing Specialties. Before I could finish explaining what I needed they knew exactly what to get me to get the job done. They are wonderful and you get get 5 stars.

My uncle died recently and as I was getting to sell his house an inspector pointed out a problem with his shower valves. I went all over Richmond to find replacement parts with no luck. I was then wtold to go to Richmond Plumbing. What a great experience. The owner identified the manufacture and found the replacement parts. I doubt I will ever go anywhere else for plumbing parts in the future. Thanks guys.

Had a heck of a time finding replacements for specific hardware needed to reinstall a vintage L shaped shower rod. On the way to another hardware store, I spotted Richmond Plumbing Specialties, and stopped. The knowledgeable staff quickly identified exactly what I needed, and saved me so much time and frustration. I also appreciated the care taken to protect staff and clientele with proper Covid-related precautions. This local biz is a gem well worth supporting!

I went in today asking for a help with a hose for a kitchen faucet with a pull out sprayer. It was an old faucet and the “universal” replacement I got from Lowe’s was not so universal 😂. They found the part I needed in just a few minutes and asked me a few questions to make sure I had what I needed to install it. The price was great as well.

I got home and in 20 minutes I was up and running with no leaks!

The only downside was I then had to wash all the dishes that had piled up 😂

Super helpful- Pete really knows about plumbing parts- modern or very old. Had a part for my 1937 American Standard sink valve that was leaking; we had turned off hot water to the sink quite a while ago as a new washer had not fixed the leak but the new part did the trick. Recommend highly!!!

I’m a serious do it yourself kind of person who prefers to purchase supplies from small vendors. I normally find them to be helpful and friendly. So when I needed a specialized part I bypassed the prominent national plumbing supply chain and went for this mom and pop shop.

The older gentlemen who “helped” me was rude and highly unprofessional. It has been a long time since I felt like someone did not want my business. I left and drove down the road to the chain supplier. It is unclear to me how this shop stays in business if this is how they treat new customers.

At the chain supplier I was met with a smile and I left 2 minutes later with the exact part that I needed at a lower price.

I contacted this place with no real info, nothing but a picture of a 60+ year old shower stem. They worked with me to locate the part, found it, then offered up info on how to possibly fix the old one. Thanks to them I got my shower working correctly with no money at all. Very grateful and when a new plumbing need arises they will definitely be who gets my money.

I rarely leave reviews, but I was so impressed with the service I received here that I wanted to let others know. One of the employees, (Jeff), was super friendly and knowledgeable. I needed a compression cap and he made sure I had exactly what I needed.

The other employee was helping another customer and he was being extremely attentive to the customer. It's hard to find good businesses these days that go above and beyond. I highly recommend these guys for all your plumbing needs! Keep up the good work fellas. You're greatly appreciated!
