We have used Carroll for over 10 years on our home and on a rental house. They have consistently been the best. Good response, professional technicians, fair prices. I called them over the holiday freeze because a rental house furnace broke. They got a guy out that day & got the furnace going. This has happened for us every time.

Carroll Plumbing and Heating installed my new gas hot water heater. Their technicians did an exceptional job. They were professional, polite, knowledgeable, and respectful of me and my home. Dave and Zach installed the gas hot water heater. Dave made sure that he answered all of my questions and that I knew how the new hot water heater worked with my Aqua Therm furnace. It was a pleasure working with multiple technicians from Carroll Plumbing and Heating.

We have used Carol several times in the past. I called to make an appointment to replace a kitchen faucet. They explained $150 quick diagnostic fee but that it would be taken off the service cost. However, they did not explain that they work on a flat rate system, which means a plumber could be at your house for only 45 minutes and they charge you $375. We will not be using them in the future and will look for service that is by the hour.

I’ve called Carroll a bunch of times and not only do they answer right away (no hold like the other guys), they’re friendly, helpful, and very quick to get someone dispatched who’s qualified to handle the situation. I’ve had pipes burst and someone on site in less than an hour. Just this morning I realized the pilot on my water heater was out when my son tried to take a shower, and within minutes someone was here to give me a hand. Not to mention, today is a holiday (MLK) when most service companies wont even pick up. These guys are super reliable and don’t make excuses. I’d highly recommend.

I used Carroll Plumbing and Heating last week for a sewer pipe replacement. The issue is fixed and the work seems the be properly done, but the issue is with the billing. The crew was at my property for a total of 5 hours, with over 2 of those hours sitting in their truck. I was charged for 7 hours of labor. Luckily, I have cameras and was able to determine that the labor charge seemed off. I worked with Justin to get the bill adjusted, which was a pretty painless process.

I just wonder how many people are overcharged and just pay the bill because they aren’t able to prove what the labor charge should be, which is the reason for this review.

I have been relying on Carroll Plumbing for the past year to diagnose and resolve a variety of plumbing issues at my 120 year old rental property. On both occasions, they arrived on-time and were able to effectively address the problem. They worked efficiently to fix the issues and took preventative measures to help us save time and money. Carroll Plumbing was great at communicating what needed to be done and worked well with my tenants to gain access to the house. I was pleased with the process and convenience of paying the bill online. I highly recommend Carroll Plumbing for their professional and dependable plumbing services.

Rob L. proposed excellent recommendations for replacing our old heat pump and ancient oil burning furnace. We went all electric with the Mitsubishi heat pump inverter system for its cold weather performance. The installers Vance and Trey did a neat and efficient job removing the old system and putting the new system in, including an additional return and duct work that Rob recommended. David and his crew did a great job with the complimentary duct cleaning and follow-up work. We are very happy with our new system - it is quiet and keeping the house warm! Rob followed the process from beginning to end, patiently answering questions and tying up loose ends.

Keith came out after hours and was THE most knowledgeable, kind, patient, and professional plumbing technician I've ever had the pleasure of having in my home. He got the job done prompt and efficiently. 10 out of 10 would recommend this company for any of your plumbing or HVAC needs!

I can't speak highly enough about Carrol plumbing and Heating. They have been servicing my businesses and our home for about 7 years. Everyone that's ever been sent our way has always been very knowledgeable and very friendly. They really go above and beyond and they don't take advantage of people. Best plumbers that we've ever worked with. I've been through at least 10 different plumbers (at our restaurants) before learning about Carroll and we haven't looked back.

We’ve used Carroll for our heating and cooling needs for years and our experience has always been great. Carroll recently installed a “mini-split” heat pump for us. The process was easy from the initial visit from the salesman through installation. The unit is working great!

I had a mysterious puddle of water forming in my master bedroom. I called Carroll Plumbing at 1:50. They were at my house by 2:25, and had diagnosed the problem and quoted a reasonable price for the repair within 20 minutes. They completed the repair and cleaned up by 3:30. Very friendly and professional.

I've also used them for other projects, like repairing my tankless water heater/boiler and installing a new air conditioner unit, and they are consistently responsive and knowledgeable, but the very speedy service today inspired the review.

I reached out to Carroll Plumbing & Heating to see what was going on with the A/C unit at my rental property. David returned my call promptly and we scheduled an appointment to investigate the issue. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and able to answer all my questions. The pricing was very fair and reasonable. The install crew was very friendly, both introducing themselves upon entering the home. The system was swapped out quickly and they made sure I understood the new system prior to leaving. I was very happy with the service provided by Carroll Plumbing & Heating. They are easy to work and I highly recommend.

Update:
I recently had to call Carroll Plumbing again during a winter storm when my water heater went down. Once again, they delivered. Donny handled the service call and provided exceptional customer service from start to finish. He kept me informed throughout the entire process, was straightforward about what to expect, and followed through exactly as promised. In the middle of a stressful situation, that level of communication and reliability really stood out. Carroll Plumbing has now come through for me more than once, and Donny absolutely deserves recognition for the way he represents the company.

Vance & Trey from Carroll Plumbing did a Mitsubishi HVAC install for me today. They were an A+…..arrived on time, were very efficient with the installation and did a thorough clean up when they were done. I’ve always been pleased with the work Carroll does and they obviously hire great employees!

Keith and his helper Trae put in necessary components for two of my push/ pool shower levers.
They had become extremely difficult to operate and now I can do it easily with two fingers.
They were efficient, capable, and got the job done in record time.
I have lived in Richmond for over 50 years and I know that Caroroll Plumbing and Heating is a
well-respected company.
Would not use any other company.

Since moving into an old home in the fan 20 years ago, I've used Carroll for all my plumbing & heating needs. They are reliable and skilled. I just had them install a ductless a/c. While not the cheapest quote, it was in the ballpark, and I trust them to do a quality job. It was quick and clean. I appreciate that all my plumbing needs are addressed by the same company.

I have used Carroll several times in the past and have always been very happy with their work. This time I had them remove a whole house fan and install bathroom fan vents. Vance, Trey, Chris and Paul arrived on time and worked very efficiently together to complete the work much quicker than I expected. The work was done extremely well. Vance went far above and beyond by installing secure ceiling joists in hangers to ready the hole in my hall ceiling for drywall. He then asked if I had drywall and plywood available. Since I did, he used my supplies and installed both the drywall on the ceiling and the plywood on the attic floor. The work was impeccable and I couldn’t be more satisfied or happier with the job done. I will definitely use Carroll again!

When we realized the hot water tank was leaking, we contacted Carroll; they had installed the previous tank. Our mistake was not getting other quotes! After researching, we found Carroll was between $500-$600 higher in price than several other local companies. We had requested a breakdown of equipment and labor, but that apparently isn’t how they bill. The invoice is just one total figure that we were told comes from a program which gives a national average for services. Again, our mistake for assuming that Carroll would be comparable/fair in pricing ….and for not getting quotes prior to the repair!!

Very happy with their work and service. Very few companies repair Old Furnace but they are very good at it and they will give you an opinion and tell you what needs to be done. They do not always recommend replacement which is nice and they will repair this possible plus they have come out on emergency days as a day after Christmas without a complaints

I’ve been a long-time customer of Carroll Plumbing and Heating, and their service has always been excellent — but this most recent experience was so outstanding, I just had to write a review.

Carroll recently replaced my air conditioning unit, and from start to finish — including the follow-up — I couldn’t be happier. Rob helped me select the right unit, patiently answered all my questions, and even provided a temporary window unit to keep me cool while waiting for installation. That kind of care and customer service is rare!

The installation team — Josh, Trey, and Ethan — were friendly, professional, and truly a pleasure to have in my home. Their attention to detail was remarkable, and they made sure everything was done perfectly.

As always, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Carroll Plumbing and Heating to anyone. They truly go above and beyond!

Donny and Trey came out, even though the roads were icy, and came and looked at our issue. They gave us a full consultation with photos, trouble-shooting, and plenty of great information. They did all the little things like wearing booties in the house, vacuuming up dust, stuff that lets you know they go through extra mile. Great service, totally satisfied.

I just had the HVAC upstairs replaced. The final bill was more than $27k -- much much more than I budgeted. Also, with the project, 1/2 dozen of my electrical fixtures "broke" for an "unknown" reason (outlets, garage door opener, light fixture), which cost me another $1k+ to fix. Carroll refused to share any of the extra costs - claiming it was not caused by their work -- it was just a coincidence that the outages just happened to occur at the same time as their work. TOO expensive.
