I needed 2 hose bibbs (spigots) replaced as well as 2 shut-off valves installed for them and called Keil on the recommendation of a friend. They gave me a very accurate quote for the work and came out the next day to replace them. They worked around my schedule and were prompt on the arrival time. The technician was very professional and discussed some different options regarding the repairs. He then gave me the final cost for the work and did a really great job installing new piping, the shut-off valves and new bibbs. A+ experience overall!

Keil Plumbing & Heating was very quick to answer my call and send someone out to fix my issue. If they didn't have the part with them, they made sure to get it and get the job done right. They were professional, knowledgeable and performed quality work in a timely manner.

This is a top notch company. I called at 6:30 in the evening to report my AC wasn’t working. At 7:15 ( same evening) I had a Technician at my door! My tech ( John W. ) spent the time to figure out what the problem was and fixed it. He was knowledgeable and confident he could figure it out. And he did. I would highly recommend Keil to everyone.

I made a desperate call to a number of plumbing contractors, mid day on a Saturday b/c the drain on my 18 year old water heater broke off. Being the weekend, I was seriously concerned with my ability to get anyone out at the house before Monday, and that's what I heard from the first 2 places I spoke with.
Thankfully I also called Keil. They had someone at the house within the hour. Not only was the Tech extremely professional, he quickly assessed the situation, presented me with a couple options of how to proceed and had the repairs done in no time. I can not say enough about the team at Keil. Everyone I spoke to was always very polite and friendly. Easily a 5 star experience and they will be my go to Plumbing and HVAC team moving forward.

Kiel plumbing was great they knew i had a problem and solved it. I wouldn't do business with another company no matter what because they're top notch. I got my gas line installed and my toilet fixed all because of them. I wouldn't trust another company in Richmond area to do that for me besides them

I moved into a new house and needed the pipes inspected for insurance purposes. The plumber they sent inspected the pipes and told me everything was good. After he left, I read the report he wrote up and in the report he wrote that he found old pipes which needed to be replaced. I called them back, re-explained why I needed that inspection, and tried to schedule a time for them to come back and replace the pipes, but I never heard back from them. I paid them and decided to go with another plumber to fix the pipes. Then months later they sent me an overdue bill for the invoice I already paid. Do not use this plumbing service, they are either incompetent or scammers.

I called Keil Plumbing for a quote on what I needed to have done. The person who answered the phone was professional and explained everything in detail. They followed up the next day to see if I needed to schedule but issue had resolved. I would definitely call them again if a need arose.

I was dealing with an older shower faucet where parts could not be located. Installing a new faucet meant going through a wall adjoined to the kitchen. It was open through a cabinet. Other plumbers said everything would need to be torn apart to fix. Keils said no problem and in two hours at a very reasonable rate, a new fixture and faucet were in place. If you have a plumbing problem, these are the guys to fix it.

The team at Keil were very professional, knowledgeable and very courteous. Communication directly with the technician was easy and prompt. We had a main water line rupture and they came in within 24 hrs and ran a new line in no time. To say we are impressed is an understatement.

Own an older home and Keil has come through every single time. They are clean and explain everything for a fair price. They took care of emergencies more than a few times. Highly dependable.

Emergency Saturday service on sewer line needed. These folks were awesome. Prompt pickup on my call and had team at the house within couple hours. The plumbers were very professional, pleasant and efficient. Worked quickly to resolve and to double check the entire line for any other issues. This will be the first company I call if I need plumbing in the future.

Josh and Daniel where very professional, quiet & cleaned up so well that if I had not seen them working would never have known they where here. They took pictures and took it to my husband who is not able to go upstairs at this time, and explained what was wrong and how they where going to fix it. We highly recommend them and will definitely call them again if we need them back. And Sarah, in the office also gets a A + for always answering quickly and very friendly

    ***Update: 2/11/2026***

After leaving a review detailing my recent experience with Keil, I was contacted by one of their employees via phone call. I wish I could say that it was a productive, courteous call. Instead, the employee in question proceeded to shout at, speak over me multiple times during the course of the 3 minute conversation, and generally complain about my review. I informed them multiple times that I had no interest in arguing with them, or debating the facts of my review, which are clearly outlined below. I had a poor experience. I left a review, which I am empowered to do, as a former client, outlining my disappointment and the details of my personal experience with this company. Apparently Keil sees fit to allow their employees to contact their clients and effectively dismiss their concerns/experience, while being verbally combative. I find this incredibly unprofessional.

That was my experience today. The employee in question dismissed my concerns, argued and spoke over me, and complained that I was throwing the company under the bus. I didn't in my original review. I clearly outlined my experience and disappointment with the results. I wish I had paid attention to the other less than favorable reviews, who warned about the lack of professionalism earlier. Now that I have experienced the lack of professionalism from this tech in particular, I will be avoiding future service with this company. In the event that the individual is reading this: please do not attempt to contact me again. I will gladly speak with a manager about my experience regarding your conduct today, but otherwise, would prefer that Keil and their employees do not contact me again. Thank you.

I contacted Kiel for a plumbing emergency, after they were recommended to me. After 3 other failed attempts to fix my issue with no fewer than two competitors and one handyman, they were a last ditch effort, beyond opening a home owner's insurance claim. I am disappointed to say that my experience was a poor one.

I was charged $450 for work that wasn't completed. While I am happy to pay for time and diagnostic efforts, the tech thst arrived was unprepared. They did not bring a camera with them, which seems like a crucial missed step. How can you diagnose the problem with no visual point of reference?

Not only did they not resolve the plumbing issue - if anything it is no better than it was 4 months ago - they charged by the hour, despite the tech leaving my property to borrow an item they had forgotten to bring for at least 30 - 40 of the minutes that they were "on the clock." There are companies in the Richmond area who will not charge if they don't fix the issue, which seems to be a fair and honest way to run a business. I cannot justify being out $450 when the issue persists. I was told that they could replace a section of pipe in the hopes it would fix the issue (how they would know is beyond me, as again, they never ran a camera to confirm whether the issue was a root, clog, or broken pipe,) but I never received the promised quote for that work.

I can't recommend them in good faith if charging exorbitant amounts of money for a.) No true diagnosis, b.) Ill prepared technicians, c.) No solution is the standard.

Wow! What amazing, friendly, speedy service. I called on a Monday for a drain leak at 11am and they came 30 mins later and made the repair. I’ve never used them before since we had a great plumber (who has since retired). Found our new plumber! Thanks so much. Your team was so neat and quiet.

Had an excellent experience with the technician today, especially for an emergency call during a snowstorm, truly above and beyond service.

My HVAC system had a communication fault and the heat wasn’t working. He carefully troubleshot the control board, switched it from the communicating system to a standard 24-volt setup, rewired everything properly, and made sure the furnace was running safely. Warm air is blowing perfectly now.

What I really appreciated was his honesty and professionalism. He was ready to install the thermostat I had purchased (Ecobee) and didn’t try to push what he had in hand. He explained that my system is in good condition and just needs regular servicing once in a while , no unnecessary replacements.

On top of all that, the total charge was very very reasonable , for diagnosing, fixing the wiring/configuration, and installation work, especially considering it was an emergency visit.

He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure everything was working before leaving. Highly recommend!

Called because of blocked toilets and a broken faucet. Was told septic problem and charged $244 for visit and faucet fix. Hanover Septic came out and septic tanks ok. Had them drained. Carroll came back twice with roto rooter and power wash for $1000. Told us line to septic tanks had roots growing in and needed to be replaced for $4200. Called Hanover Septic and they did the job for $1300!!

Jake and John did a great job removing our leaking old electric tank water heater and replacing it with a new Rheem unit. Jake also gave advice on some other needed plumbing repairs.

Overall I was happy with the actual work performed by the plumbers but I found Carroll to be unprofessional when it comes to billing/pricing. I was sent a bill will just a total amount, my requests for an itemized bill (something that showed labor/material/etc) was seemingly ignored. I suspect they charge as much as they think they can get instead of the actual work/services they performed. I would be hesitant to use them in the future.

We had a clogged shower drain. They responded quickly, solved the problem, and cleaned everything very well. The only problem is that they didn’t come with a motorized snake that was needed. They had to drive an hour to get one and the bill came to $651.

I’ve had several occasions to use Carroll Plumbing and they have always been great. Today was no exception. I had an emergency and they were able to stay on top of their schedules to work us in. Problem quickly solved. Thanks for the fast and efficient service!

The actual work done for an emergency fix was helpful but we won't be using them again because of their billing and pricing practices. They will bill you for a full hour ($120 + parts) even if they're only at your house for 15 minutes - the bill will not be prorated. For the larger job we needed done we got quotes from 4 different plumbers that ranged from $1400 to $3000, with theirs being the highest. The $3000 quote we were provided gave no breakdown of what parts would cost or how much time it would take. The plumbers who we ended up giving the work to were done in about 5 hours, and the price I found through Home Depot for the pipe Carroll Plumbing planned to use was $15. Even if that was rounded up to $100 or $200, it's still very hard for me to reconcile how you can get to $3000 at $120 an hour.
