I understand why they have a 4.9 review score. When the repairman for my dryer detected an issue with the 220 outlet he said I needed to have an electrician check the outlet and the breaker. Having read several recommendations on NextDoor for Nipper Electric I went to there website and made a Monday appointment between 8-5pm (made the appt Friday afternoon). A short time later I received a call from their office narrowing the anticipated arrival time to 2-4pm. I then received another message Monday morning that they could have a repairman come earlier which I gladly accepted.
Cory arrived and listened to the issue and immediately went to work. When he examined the outlet he found a broken wire which he repaired. He checked the voltage after the repair and found it proper. Quick diagnosis and repair.
I was so happy with the service I immediately called the office to schedule some electrical work at my daughter’s house. When I called to make the appointment I was told that they could send Cory over to her house. I then met Cory and explained a surge protector and a new outlet in the garage was desired. Corey explained what actions he would take and provided an estimate. After approval, he got right to work, cleaned up some issues he found from someone else’s work and finished the installations in a short time.

Nipper Electric installed our transfer box and generator wiring back in 2019, and they recently completed some outlet work at our home as well. The service technician arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the issue, and resolved the electrical problem in a timely manner.

First-class service from start to finish! We would highly recommend them to anyone and will definitely be using them again for our upcoming summer home renovations.

Jorge was excellent to work with. He was very efficient, knowledgeable, and professional from start to finish. He clearly explained what he was doing, worked quickly without cutting corners, and made sure everything was done right before leaving. It’s obvious he takes pride in his work. I had a great experience and would absolutely recommend Jorge and Nipper Services to anyone needing service.

We can not say enough good things about Nipper Electric and the customer service we received. The office staff was very kind, helpful and accommodating. Jorge was our electrician and he was outstanding. He was professional, knowledgeable, and answered every question that we had. He even took the time to speak with the cabinetry manager in order to provide exactly what was needed for the project installation. We were able to have our outlet installed while he was here. Certainly recommend Nipper to anyone looking for electrical services.

I've sat on this a couple day trying to come up with the right words because I am beyond impressed by this company. I called in tears in a Friday because my power would not stay on. Of course dominion was no help because as far as they were concerned it simply wasn't there problem because it wasn't on their end.They hung up without as much of a place to start looking and left me in my own. Nipper was probably my third or fourth call and at this point I'm frustrated and in tears because I have two kids and I can't be without power. Amy was so courteous when she answer the phone and worked with me and made arrangements for someone to come look at my electrical same day. I barely waited an hour before Marion was at my door and quickly diagnosing the problem. Nipper's employees aren't only kind and professional but they work fast and efficiently. I am so thank for Nipper. 10/10. I've recommended you all to several people now and will continue to do so. It makes a big difference when it's obvious you care about the people not just the job.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Great experience, great value, and Jorge was awesome. I like to do everything I can DIY, so when I came to my wits end and did more damage than good, I called Nipper Electric; Amy picked up the phone right away and had an appointment scheduled for me within a few hours. When Jorge came out, he not only fixed all the issues within an hour, but took the time to explain the issues and solutions to me which is something I really appreciated. He was prompt, efficient, and extremely knowledgeable. I will be calling back for any future electric needs! Thank you guys!

I called Cole Electric of the recommendation of my mother in-law. My son had been having electrical issues in the house he rents from me for months. He had friends come over and tell him he needed all new electrical put in the house ect… I almost paid one of them to do it, glad I didn't. Cole Electric came out within 24 hours of my call to take a look and found it was something that Dominion needed to fix. They called Dominion and they were out at the house immediately. Cole Electric didn't even charge me for coming out!!!!!!! They were professional, on time, courteous, and saved me money. I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them to anyone needing electrical work. Thanks guys appreciate everything you've done!!!

I called several companies to see about getting an interlock put in so I could run my generator through my panel. Scott Cole got back to me right away and set up an appointment for first thing in the morning. 3 technicians arrived at 730 am and were extremely professional. They explained everything they were doing and did the work flawlessly. I will use Cole Electric again and highly recommend them.

I called to schedule an appointment for evaluation and diagnosis of my electric problem and their free consultation helped me to convince Dominion technicians that my issue should be taken care of, by their company.
Before then I contacted other electricians and even paid money for not related issues like renewing outlets!!!!.
I will surely call them for my electric issues from now on.
I give them four stars, keeping the fifth star for the time I enjoy their first service.

Cole Electric was recommended to me by my neighbor who has never steered me wrong. My electrical problem was most concerning to me therefore, I called immediately. Being a Saturday, I expected to leave a message but instead got Carla and Andy who were so helpful, taking the time over the phone to troubleshoot the problem. Their main concern was knowing that my husband is disabled and on life support and was dependent on the repair. Dylan came out and he arrived in less than an hour. Today Cole Electric, led by Mason and his crew restored the electricity in three areas of my home. These lights have been down for over three months. I have had other companies at my home trying to find the issue. They have checked in the rooms, the attic and the basement without any determination of what the problem was. However, an associate of Cole Electric (Dave) discovered the issue within 30 minutes and was able to refer me and in a matter of weeks the job was complete. If you want expertise call Cole Electric!

I had the Cole Electric team of Steve and his assistant troubleshoot a garage and outdoor circuit short. They came for the appointment on time, located the outlets creating the problem; and effected the repairs with new outlets. They did the repairs in about forty minutes in a very thorough and professional manner. Because of their experience, they knew what to look for and quickly tackled the job. If I have future electrical repair work, Cole Electric is on my speed dial.

We had a great first time experience with Cole Electric at the recommendation of a friend. Steve was the field technician assigned to us. He quickly diagnosed and explained in an easy-to-understand manner what needed to be repaired and why. We felt like our technician cared about our health concern during these unprecedented times because at each personal encounter with us to discuss matters, he always wore a mask. Honestly, I'm blown away. I had requested a quote from a couple of different places. While I was waiting for a quote from Cole Electric, I had another company come out to my property to give me a price on their services. They didn't get back to me when I asked to schedule a day to install, and you know what? I'm glad they didn't!

Scott Cole contacted me about my request a day later and gave me more information over the phone than the other company could do by coming to my property. All he needed to know was the foundation to my home, when it was built, and what area I was in, and BOOM, a quote and a FULL detailed explanation of what needed to be done without even coming out to my house.

When he had asked me when I wanted the work to be done, I had said hopefully by the end of the month, and he said he could have it done by the end of the day. Guess what? He wasn't lying. We had an outdoor outlet installed within 4 hours of our phone call, and the job was done very well.

I would also like to say that a couple of the people I work with use Cole Electric, and they also highly recommend their work.

Cole Electric has been my "go to" stop for home electrical problems for a long time. Today's visit just confirmed they're the best. Steve and Jarrett arrived on time to troubleshoot a foyer light switch that wasn't working. Both were very professional, understood what we wanted to do and completed the work quickly. Highly recommend the Cole team!

What a great overall experience! Mason and crew were professional and courteous from start to finish. They had to do some troubleshooting to identify the source of some electrical issues, and as soon as they located the source, they took the time to explain:
1) what it was
2) why it was causing the issue
3) what they were going to do to fix the issue

They also went through and double checked all of their work very thoroughly on everything they did, and demonstrated that they had corrected the issues.

They did a great job on replacing my breaker box, testing all of the breakers, and identifying and labeling what each of the breakers were connected to. I know that is standard fare for electricians, but in my previous house the labeling could not have been less correct (I don't know who labeled it, but they definitely weren't from Cole Electric - that's for sure).

Obviously no one wants to have electrical issues, but that is just a part of life, and I can say beyond a doubt that next time I do, I already know who to call.

Let me start out by saying one should not attempt to initiate an electrical home repair on a weekend if possible. If you run into a problem, electrical service companies are closed. Duh. I was changing out an electric water heater that I had installed almost 19 years ago. Amazing it had lasted that amount of time. I’ve replaced water heaters in the past in several different houses without any difficulty. This time the circuit kept breaking. I called a contractor friend, who
suggested that I contact Cole Electric. An answering service took my information and to my surprise I was quickly contacted by Andy the owner of Cole Electric. I didn’t expect the owner to handle weekend problems. Andy patiently walked me through my installation process and diagnosed that the problem was with the original breaker which was too small an amperage, which doesn’t explain why it work properly with the old water heater, but in my mind that’s the mystery of electricity. I’m not fond of putting my hands in a service panel. All I see are lots of hot wires that are only interested in shock the hell out of me. I suggested to Andy that maybe he should dispatch an electrician to fix the problem. Andy advised weekend emergency service is expensive. He was confident that I could handle installing a new breaker. Bottom line I installed the new breaker without incident and the kids had a nice warm bath that night. It’s nice to know that family businesses still exist and customer service is paramount. Without a doubt all of my future electrical needs will be handled my Cole Electric. Thanks Andy

Having relocated to the Hampton Roads area we've needed a variety of contractors and have depended on others for recommendations. Cole Electric handled two of our home inspection items and did so exactly as requested. One item depended on another subcontractor before Cole could finish their work and as soon as the other sub was finished, Cole followed through to completion. We were so impressed with their professionalism that we asked Cole to recommend some energy-saving ideas for our lighting. They provided thorough, expert advice to accomplish our goals and completed that work in a timely fashion. Their electricians stay focused on the job, working diligently and conscientiously--and they're clean and tidy--which says a lot these days. So we chose Cole to upgrade our electrical panel as well. When the work was completed, again very timely, Scott Cole came over and walked us through the new panel and answered any questions. All this after he and his lead electrician had thoroughly explained everything to us prior to commencement of the work. Cole Electric is a knowledgeable, talented group of electricians who do not disappoint; they listen and care and take the time to put your mind at ease. Cole Electric is at the top of our contractor list for their professionalism and work ethic and we highly recommend them.

These guys are awesome, special shout out to Ashley(Go Birds!!), Karla(very helpful and knowledgeable), Mason and his assistant(thorough and professionalism). They all were helpful and was early not just on time. I first received great information and advice from Carla throughout the weekend that most likely save me from a lot of heartache down the road. Ashley was very helpful and responsive with communication throughout the process also. Mason and the crew did a great job explaining and showing the exact problem and giving advice on issues beyond the initial job. There was a small hiccup , but they were there within ten minutes from my return call and minor issue corrected quickly. This company is the way to go for electrical issues.
