Update 2: It appeared and it was explained to me that there was a problem with the phone system and that is why no one was answering or returning my messages. Consultant came by and inspected my equipment and advised that everything appeared to be working properly. Looks like I need to put more time and effort into properly cleaning the pool and practice more patience with the professionals.

Update: I have finally spoken with someone and a consultant is scheduled.

I had HCJ replace my filter equipment June 2024. The equipment has failed this year May 2025. I’ve called many times and cannot reach anyone and they will not return my calls!

We have been using HCJ pool services for the past 1.5 months. Shortly after we moved in, we were recommended a 5.5K filter and pump change for our DE filter and Hayward pump. We also noticed our water feature pressure was low around the same time. We were never offered alternative options from the pool technician such as filter cleaning prior to the recommendation of changing out the filter and lath am. We were told that filter cleanings are every 6 months but I explained to them that we weren’t sure of the maintenance history of the pool. After several exchanges with the manager, I finally got them to clean the filter for 250 and pool has been working great. I then got a quote for a pool cover totaling 11K. When I matched this with other companies that even offered Latham quality covers the highest I could find was 8K. The straw that broke the camels back was when I find out that our pool light was broken after finding it on our pool deck. The pool guy never mentioned to my wife that it was broken and just merely waived at her during the service. I then received an email with pictures from “the weekly pool cleaning” showing a broken pool light. Mind you I have several small kids and would have at least appreciated a call regarding this or even better have the pool guy speak to my wife rather than just waive at her as if everything is fine. When we finally spoke to the pool guy he claims that it was sitting on the pool deck when he arrived although we have on camera that this was not the case.

I have been very disappointed with this company. They would rather replace expensive parts to make more money off their customers rather than try simple fixes first. They also have the worst communication. I felt as if they inflated their prices because of our home and are frankly dishonest. We have switched companies because of this. I urge you to compare prices and services with other local companies prior to considering this company. They may not do this to all, but my family and I had a horrible experience and felt the need to warn the community. I don’t do google reviews often but felt the need to in this situation. I hope this helps other families avoid this happening to them.

Brian with HCJ Pool Services is a life saver! After a nightmare experience with another pool company, Brian made our pool safe, functional, and enjoyable.

We called Brian after we noticed our pool was losing an inordinate amount of water and to take his Pool School. His Pool School encompassed a complete walk through and tutorial of our entire pool, pool filter/pump system, water quality, pool equipment, and pool water cleaning products. After examining our pool filter, he noticed the active leak and the fact that the equipment was from 2010 and way beyond its life expectancy. The filter cover's sheen was from the fiberglass deterioration. Plus, he pointed out that the filter's electrical bonding wire was not attached to the pool bonding wire.

Brian with HCL Pool Services educated me in the art of testing pool water. He never tried to convince me to use their pool maintenance services. He explained that I can always call them back for non-routine pool maintenance, if I needed more assistance.

Since our filter system was so antiquated, we hired Brian to install a new sand filter and an updated pool control panel. He and Marquis were great! Brian thoroughly explained the new equipment and the control panel software.

HCJ Pool Services is top notch! I wish that I had used them for my pool inspection. Their Pool School was reasonably priced and thorough. Their pool filter and pool control panel installation was seamless and professional! Another high point is that HCJ Pool Services has timely communication with their customers! Sara, their scheduler, promptly calls back when you leave a message. You'll save money using HCJ Pool Services!

HCJ pool was recommended to us by another company which is already a good sign. Brian arrived within a day, made sure we had a complete breakdown of what was wrong to include pictures with the invoice. He was back winthin a few days to complete the work we approved and also checked in with us for days after to make sure all parts were working properly. We couldn’t have been more grateful. Lastly, Sara is amazing, friendly and very organized to work with setting up your appointments. We are so pleased to have a great pool company to rely on

After hiring for our pool inspection, had them come open the pool, install updated equipment, enrolled in “pool school” and will have HCJ maintain pool for the whole season. Incredibly professional, efficient and friendly to work with! Honest and fair prices, nice team and great service, highly recommend!

We bought a home that was already being serviced by HCJ. We decided to keep them on even though their prices we almost double the competition. After asking them to come back to re-do service, they decided to give me a hard time. They will continuously push for you to sign up for their $150 hour long pool school. It wasn’t all bad experiences, but if you want a company that will handle things that you don’t want to handle; maybe look elsewhere.

HCJ came and looked at our pool quickly. We needed several holes redrilled in the concrete we replaced, along with the winter closing. We set a date which matched our schedule perfectly. The crew showed up on time, did the job in about 1-1/2 hours and cleaned up and put everything away. The cover looks great and it’s nice and tight!
