HVAC reviews in Virginia Beach, Virginia

The team was quick to respond, very friendly, and clearly knew a lot about air duct cleaning. We scheduled an appointment to have our air ducts cleaned in our Virginia Beach home, and they were able to come out just a couple of days after we called. Carson, the technician, did a fantastic job and paid great attention to detail while cleaning our ducts and vents. We are extremely satisfied with the service and will definitely use them again. Highly recommended for anyone in need of air duct cleaning!

Tyronne was our chimney inspector - he was on time, knowledgeable and professional. A pleasure to work with. Rufus (general manager) came out the next day to check on some specifics and give us a full estimate for mortar repair. Excellent service.

Great experience with A Step In Time. I am in real estate and had 2 different chimneys that needed cleaning and inspected. Minor issues were found with both. But the repairs were done at not a great expense to my clients. The chimneys were cleaned. The gentleman (Robert) was fantastic...very knowledgeable and polite. I would highly recommend them. I am in the Annapolis, MD area. Thanks.

Ray and his crews did an awesome job with the service he provides. I have been working with a step in time for over a year with both chimney and roofing and it has been very successful relationship. Thank you very much! Ray is a great guy.

Jeff did a great job replacing our chase cover. He sealed all or our vent stacks with rust inhibitor and the cracks in our fireplace panels. Jeff took time to answer all our questions thoroughly. We are very pleased with the work he has done.

Technician was very nice but they quoted an absurd price. Told me we needed to replace our entire fireplace/chimney for $7,000 when all I wanted was a prefab panel repair. Called another company for a second opinion and described the the initial quote and the they told me there was no reason to replace the chimney and it was pefectly fine other than the panel that needed replacing. Feels like they were trying to take advantage of us.

I had scheduled and chimney inspection for a client, But when I arrived at the house, I realized I left the keys at home, an hour away. When I called to tell them my mistake, I was sure they were going to be mad as the te h was already on the way. Instead, I got a cheerful voice telling me she was sorry ideas having a bad day, and proceeded to tell me a story to try to make my day better. We rescheduled the apt and was off to a better day. Thanks step in time!

Highly recommend. My new roof looks great and so did the bill. They've been doing my chimney for years and I have been satisfied. Had some minor issues come up but the owner Rey Gessner went up and Beyond to make things right. Money spent well.

In NoVa. I was very happy with them. The scheduler was friendly and easy-going. They came out to do a chimney sweep & inspection, did a thorough job, took many pictures, emailed them to me, and walked me through items that I should do to fix parts of the chimney. The written estimate was easy to understand and clear. Also, the prices appeared in-line with other chimney companies, but A Step In Time certainly seems to be of a higher quality. Thanks!

I hired A Step in Time Chimney & Roofing for my level 2 chimney and fireplace inspection. The inspector, James, arrived on time, was very professional, efficient, respectful and nice. I would highly recommend him and A Step in Time company and will hire them again for future inspections.

We hired them to clean our fireplace. They took a short time to inspect it, and did not clean it. For that we paid $89. We had a coupon for 1/2 off an inspection which I would have used but in the switch to them only inspecting and not cleaning I forgot I had that coupon as I didn’t plan to only have an inspection. I emailed them several times post ‘inspection’ and have yet to receive a response. They left me with a list of $3000 of work I need done. Since no response to emails we decided to go with another company at 1/3 the cost.

I personally spoke with David, very professional and extremely knowledgable on chimneys, fire saftey, what to look for, how the technicians clean and perform there work. He reassured me how safe and reliable my chimney will be now after the quality service I received and pleasant experience I had with the technicians, pricing was very fare for the fantastic work they did. For any of my chimney needs I will hire this company.

Haven't had work done by them yet- appointment scheduled this Friday- but thus far I'm very grateful to have found them. We have been dealing with a chimney issue for over a week now and have called over 6 professional for advice and service, If we had called A Step In Time first, that would have been the only call made. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and convenient. Looking forward to seeing if their chimney service is as good as their customer service ;)

We used A Step In Time To have our Fire & Chimney flue checked after moving into a house we purchased. They were Courteous, Professional, & On Time. They were a great company to use from calling to chapping the door, to finishing the job. Would highly recommend. This company, with no hesitation./
Thanks Guys. Keep up the good work. -
Thomas was extremely helpful! He took his time to explain everything to me and was very patient with me. I chose A Sweep In Time over another company I contacted because of the excellent customer service I received from Thomas. Plus, A Sweep In Time scheduled my chimney cleaning for the next day. The other company I called was not friendly and couldn't get me an appointment until three days from the day I called for an appointment. Thomas even showed me how I could save $30 off my cleaning! Love that!!

Had water leaking in the house through the mortar in the fireplace. After numerous repairs and additional trips water is still leaking through the mortar. Wife called to speak to the owner but he had one of his helpers call back. Very unprofessional. Stay far away from this company. They know how to say you need word done but have no idea what they are doing. Repeat...stay away from this company.

I recently had A Step In Time Chimney Sweep come inspect the chimney in our 1940s home. Jeffrey conducted the inspection and then went through several pictures and explaining work that he would recommend be done right away and other items which could present issues down the road but not as time sensitive. He quoted me fees for the various services and repairs on the spot and was knowledgeable about his work. The company is expanding in the Richmond area and I would recommend calling them. Other companies never returned my calls, emails.
-
The technician (Austin) was early, very efficient, polite and informative. He was thorough and honest with the inspection. I look forward to working with the company and will request the same technician when we get the necessary repairs completed.
-
On time, called ahead to say he was on his way. Took pics on the roof and showed me what's up there. Did the work they recommended. Very friendly staff. I'll definitely use them again.

We had a wonderful experience with A Step in Time Chimney Sweeps this morning. Paul and his crew, Rodney and Victor, were here and did one of the best inspections of our home that we have ever had. Not only did they take care of a fireplace issue but they sealed a gas vent leading to our hot water heater which was not sealed properly. I would like to thank the entire crew for all their help this morning. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I had my chimney cleaned back in 2011 and this company did the best job of any company I had previously used. The wood stove insert was pulled and the entire opening was thoroughly cleaned. No one had done that before! I had no idea it even came out that easily. The entire area was thoroughly vacuumed and the fireplace left in pristine condition.
So, these are the people I called to do a chimney cleaning before my house is sold. Rufus Jones, who took my call, was friendly, helpful, and worked with me to keep the cost as low as possible. I expect this job to be just as good as the last
but it is still in the future.
