I do not often take the time to review a company but I have to stop and do it for this one. I have been a repeat customer of A Step In Time since 2015 and I highly recommend their services. Frank is our regular maintenance technician and it is always a pleasure to have him stop by. He is generally early for our appointment, is a great communicator, and has exceptional work ethic. He even wins over my dog --who is usually standoffish towards visitors. It seems difficult these days to find a business with reasonable prices, who will give you quality service, and will stand behind their work--- A Step In Time is one of those businesses.

This is not to say anything negative about the personality of the technician who came out, he was very pleasant, but I was expecting more than a nice guy. I have an insert in my fireplace, and even in their advertising, they say they inspect all around, sides and back of the woodstove insert. In order to do that, they must remove the facing that covers the connection - which is very easy to do. This guy only shone his flashlight where I burn the wood, didn't even look at connection to see if it needed patching to keep smoke out of my house. Then he got on roof and shone flashlight down chimney, took a few pictures quickly, and said it'd be $49 for inspection! Didn't clean the chimney - said it didn't need it. I do burn very clean and have a stainless steel liner, but it had been two years since last cleaning, and I burn heavy in the winter! I think the guy was pressed for time and didn't want to bother. I am refusing to pay the $49 for "inspection" because I did not receive a thorough inspection, and I can get a true inspection from a very reputable and local company for FREE! I keep getting texts and emails from the owner about future work by them, they're obviously computer generated... he has yet to respond to my emails to him personally stating exactly what I'm stating here. Hopefully he'll see this review...

Frank was actually able to come by early. He was thorough in his inspection and cleaning, showing me both before and after photos. He made smart recommendations on repairs based on conditions he saw and further documented in photos. He wasn't pushy or forceful at all. He showed me the facts, showed me the pictures, discussed the risks of not making repairs and we came to an agreement. Look forward to having him out again to make the repairs and extend the life of my fireplace!

10/10 recommend. I was in need of a last minute inspection due to an inspection contingency and closing schedule and they bent over backwards to accommodate my clients' timeline. As a Realtor, I greatly appreciate their professionalism, ability to honor my military's clients budget for the re-inspection, and their communication. Highly Recommend and will be using them again for any structural inspections.

The inspector was very nice and knowledgeable and the only reason I gave 2 stars. The price was disgraceful. They are harshly over pricing repairs. One of the repairs was a new chimney cap which is very simple and takes only minutes to replace. They wanted 450$ for a 50$ chimney cap. Please do your research this company is over pricing every repair by hundreds some even thousands.

Was told I would be provided an estimate for repairs for 42 dollars just to get a quote recommending an inspection for $990 dollars then got called, text and emailed about the 42 dollars without ever getting a estimate for repairs. I should’ve paid attention to the red flags likes the tech showing up late for the appointment and not getting any info about the visit the same day but I ignored the red flags and ended up wasting my time and money so learn from me and avoid this place and save yourself the money and headache.

We had our dryer serviced by Tim, very courteous and professional. He ran into problems due to a heavy clog in our line. We were one spark away from a fire. So, thank you. I also overheard Tim talking with his manager/support and I was impressed with how he was directed and guided through the issues he had. Good and respectful team. Thank you. We have always had a great experience with your company.

I spoke with Nida, and she was absolutely wonderful was able to get me rescheduled for a yearly inspection. She apologized for the issues that I was having with the phone system system. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! 😊

Great company, we had them clean our commercial air ducts, super knowledgeable, explained the process, provided pictures. All around great team and easy to work with.

I've used these guys a few times now and have never been disappointed. I have a few rental properties and from the scheduling, customer interactions and to the quality of work it's always been above and beyond. They are my preferred duct and dryer vent cleaning company.
