Was quoted an initial cost of $100 to do a furnace service/clean out, with additional costs for unforeseen repair, and that is a fair market cost. “After” the work was done the serviceman told us that the initial cost was $200, and he took the printed quote he had in hand and changed it with a pen. Classy. Thinking he was ripping off the company, we paid him and called the office, and they told us that the serviceman could make those changes as they see fit. To make things worse, the slob got soot all over our garage that took 2 weeks to get clean.

Considering we were falsely lead, they could care less, and they made a mess of our home, I would never recommend them. As a building professional I will also never recommend their services to any my clients either.

This is the best place ever to get your HVAC work completed from. I had an emergency issue with my unit leaking in my ceiling. Ben came out and fixed it very quickly and explained the issue to me. I felt confident the issues were fixed properly and the price was amazing. They're not there cheapest but not the most expensive. Great quality and very reasonable. I recommend them to everyone.

I have used Sonny's for our back flow inspection for the past two years. Just the other day I contacted them for a leak in at one of our rental properties. I told the lady/dispatcher that I needed someone ASAP. She kind of laughed but then the next day I got a call from Dave and he had it fixed within 30 minutes. HIGHLY recommend them!!

Cannot speak more highly of Sonny's Mechanical!!! We have been using them for over 3 years. We have nothing but high praise for their work, professionalism and the cleanliness and care of the crews. Our service calls have been both emergencies and maintenance on our Heat Pumps and 35 year old ductwork. Their fees are very reasonable and they stand behind their work 100%!

I had been having a very difficult time with HVAC contractors making "band aid" repairs every year or so to the HVAC system in my home. I answered a small ad that Sonny's had placed in the Virginian Pilot classifieds and ultimately purchased a brand new heat pump and air handler from them in 2012.

My entire system has worked perfectly from day 1 and kept me warm through the brutal winter of 2015. I have no complaints; Sonny's was (and still is) honest, fair, and their prices are reasonable.

I have Sonny's maintain my system and their servicemen are timely, courteous, and clean.

These guys are great! My heater went out and I had another company come out to give me a quote, and I had Sonnys come out to make sure it was what I was quoted for from the other company and they were able to save me about $300! I am so glad I found them! Definatly using them again!
They also worked with me to find a good time to come out. They were able to work me in at the very end of the day. (At 2:30)

They canceled on us twice before they made it out to our house . The salesman was amazing at first . They did a terrible job and we saw no improvement in cooling our upstairs. They left trash in our attic and blocked our attic access door. The kid technician had a tantrum on my wife when she asked him a question . Then our bill came and they over charged us . The salesman hasn't returned our calls . Would not recommend .

I may have reviewed Sonny’s in the past but they rate highly with recent activities so adding to my review! Thomas came out for our twice a year and took care of a noise problem in our upper hvac unit. Gone!
Then we had an issue with our lower outside unit recently and he came quickly and knocked that one out too. Thank you Thomas, and thank you Sonny’s…oh and Courtney always keeps us on track for schedule, etc. 🙂

I called Sonny's in a total jam. I had a water heater in an atic leak and ruined a ton of wall and flooring. I had been without hot water for 2 days. My original plumber choice flaked on me and I started dialing. I ran across Sonny and they literally made some time for the same day and handled the job with care and precision. We have a marble bathroom that he expertly protected. Totally professional, clean and honest! Rare find. Great job and thank you for the rescue!!!

We can't say enough great things about Sonny's! Jason fixed our water heater super quick and explained everything very thoroughly to us. He was extremely professional and friendly. You can tell he takes great pride in his work and truly cares about your comfort!

Jason is seriously the best!! Our fan went out in our unit and we had no AC in our home for about a day and a half. We were especially worried because we had a newborn in our home and temperatures had reached 80°. Jason came and diagnosed the problem and ordered our part with a next day shipping (out of his own pocket) and promptly fixed the unit. I thank God for people like Jason. Thank you so much!

I recently had an issue with my HVAC. The air handler had stopped blowing air, so I called Sonny’s Mechanical for an after-hours visit. The tech showed up shortly after I called, was friendly, and even gave our pups some love. He quickly diagnosed that the motor had failed. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the part on his truck, but he walked me through my options. I had asked for both a motor replacement quote and the cost to replace the entire unit, and he was upfront and clear about pricing. He also offered to come back during regular hours to help me avoid the after-hours fee.

While he was there, we also had a plumbing issue. He offered to help if I hadn’t fixed it before his return. Thankfully, I was able to sort that one out myself.

He came back Tuesday. There was a delay from Monday due to weather, but they kept me updated. He installed the new motor and made sure both the heat and A/C were working. I also asked him to check our second HVAC unit, and he gladly went up to the attic to inspect it. No issues were found.

Overall, I was really impressed with the experience, communication, and level of service. We will definitely be using Sonny’s Mechanical again.

Dave was awesome! He came out within 20 minutes of our initial call and helped us out with our HVAC problems. It turned out to be the compressor that was causing our issues. Quick and easy fix and he was very informative. While he was out here he drained our lines to avoid any kind of backup. Would highly recommend! Thanks again Dave.

I don't often write reviews, but Sonny's deserves it. I have called them three times for service. Every time they are very open, honest, and trustworthy about their troubleshooting. Every time they have charged me wayyyy less than I was expecting. We used a big name HVAC company for our first quote of over $7000!! Sonny's came and fixed all our problems for under $200. Amazing company!! Thank you!!

Provided excellent service. They came out the same day, diagnosed my gas furnace issue quickly, and completed the repair efficiently. The work was high quality, their prices were fair, and the whole process was smooth and professional. Definitely a 5-star experience — highly recommend!.
