José and his team did a splendid job in our apartment getting rid of mold in our closet from water damage from another apartment. They were knowledgeable, professional and friendly. They also laid new carpet and padding. Great job José!

The first time peerless came out to my apartment in Kingstown they were fast and courteous even though it was late at night. Kingstown is horrible and their have been 5 more sewage backups since and the last two times no one from peerless came to install insulation back under the carpet and it's been at least a month since the last incident. When I call all I get is dispatch. I've had at least 3 fans in my apartment running nonstop on several occasions which has the electric bill even higher and it's as if I'm inconveniencing them when I call. Except for the first guy all the others left staples hanging out of the fans for my almost 2 year old to scratch herself on. I'm not sure if it's because the apartment complex itself is horrible or peerlesses lack of action now half my wardrobe is ruined in sewage along with my daughters toddler bed, everything we held under the sink and because of the moisture we have confined mold in the apartment 3 times in the 4 months we've been here. It's Labor Day and now the 7th time we are waiting on peerless in uptown Newport News.

Peerless is fast and efficient. Employees are always friendly and willing to go the extra mile for customers. I was introduced to Peerless through my work and would not hesitate to call them first for any personal needs.

I had a horrible experience with peerless this morning. They showed up banging on my door this morning without calling me to let me know they were on their way. They rushed through the job. And one of them had a massive attitude when I ask why they didn't call me before coming. Will not be recommending or using them in the future.

Our Carpet Technician Damar was absolutely delightful. He was called out by our rental agency after we had some water damage. He was very professional, not only did he do an exceptional job to repair and restore the damage caused by the water, he went above and beyond by correcting some sloppy work that the original carpet technician did during the installation process.

*Update tech was awesome +2stars thank you guys*
**Update*** I called their number on Monday and they were able to see my account. I guess the emergency service people cannot help(they were a little rude). If you are looking for a status of an ongoing work order it is best for you to call at 0830. Somone said that the tech will be here today. We will see what happens!
03/21/20: Hey I supposed do get service done today, no one has come out, I got about 15 of your fans in my house right now. What am I supposed to do, horrible customer service. -
A very good experience! Everyone, Buddy, Dwayne, Lance, Lucas, and Joelle, were professional and easy to work with and the quality of their work was excellent. Thank you for helping us through a difficult time. I highly recommend your services.

The restoration side of the company was ok although the scheduling seemed to be non-existent or better yet convoluted aka overbooked and unavailable. The cleaning however was done fairly well (although they promised to come back to re-clean the carpet since the machine just pushed the dirt up against the molding. They never returned. I wanted to offer the carpet cleaning side of the company to come back out to do 5 rooms. The woman who answered the phone spoke over me and was quite rude. I would never give this company another dollar of my hard earned money due to customer service or the lack there of.

I am thrilled with the customer service and stellar restoration work provided by Peerless. We had THREE water damage events occur during COVID-19 pandemic. The estimator, David Seaborn, was attentive and professional. The water mitigation team was responsive and worked quickly. Our project manager, Al Pulliam, provided exceptional client care and ensured we were provided quality workmanship and services. The teams he assigned to support our multiple repairs were first rate and some of the finest in Hampton Roads. Mr. Pulliam was also incredibly flexible and accommodating with scheduling services, discussing options, and communicating the process. We were so pleased with the restorations from the water damage, that we hired Peerless for additional home improvements. Thank you again for such AMAZING work! And thank you again Mr.Pulliam for delivering such a high standard of excellence!!!

At the beginning peerless appeared to be a good company to work with to get my home back in shape. I have had nothing but trouble out of this organization to the point that I had to get another company to finish what peerless started. They give you the run a round and do not accept responsibility when things get broken or when people do not show up for the job. Peerless cancelled on my twice within 24 hours to get my floors done and did not have another solution for weeks. Peerless is responsible for a broken flange on my toilet unbenounced to me and didn't say anything. It was discovered after the new company who was on time and wonderful discovered it. I called peerless and spoke with Todd Whitehead who is a operations manager in williamsburg who was acting as my project manager for the restoration part and he told me to speak with Jeremy Pugh who was a part of the demolition division that came in to demo my affected areas. I spoke with Jeremy who denied that they broke it immediately. I couldn't believe it I did not have functioning toilet without calling a plumber to fix the repair. Jeremy stated he spoke with his boss who stated they do not feel they are responsible even though they were the only company in the house. You will not get good service from this company and their leadership team is the worst. Todd huffed when I called to speak with him to get help. This company does not care about their customers they just want to get paid for half *** work even if its not completed. No body has returned my calls to help me resolve this matter I have been without floors and a toilet for months and now it looks like I will have part of my floors thanks to the new team i hired but no toilet until someone fixes this which will not be me. Do not use this company it will be a mistake.
12/14/15-This is an update from previous message from last week. I will say after the post Jeremy Pugh at Peerless did call me back to arrange for a plumber to fix the flange within a timely fashion. I still do not like Peerless and would not recommend them but Jeremy did try to make it right for me as the customer. -
Today we had a move out cleaning done for our rental. We also had two stains that I tried everything on to remove, but failed myself. The technician arrived on time and was very professional the entire time. He started by looking at the stained area and tried for at least 15 minutes to get the stain out(there was no charge for this). He wasn’t able to get the stain out so he had to patch the carpet(which was extremely resonable in price). The carpet looked perfect afterward. I also was curious about how to patch carpet, and asked some questions, and he answered them all (even some were pretty dumb lol). He then completed the carpet cleaning on the rest of the house and did an outstanding job. I wold recommend peerless any time and am happy with the overall service! Extremely professional technician. I forgot to ask for his name, but he was awesome

Outstanding Service!! Very professional not only did my carpet look new but they made sure they removed all the moisture from the floor and the walls so mold would not bulid from the sewage spill that happen in my apartment. Top of the line work!
Thank you to Jose and SeQwan!! -
Response to owner: I have pics of the carpet between appts, an email from BBB, and my call logs I would like to send you to disprove the lies. I never insisted on the $150 with your tech. ... I never had experience with Peerless in the past in a previous apartment, and they did great work. I contracted them recently to do cleaning at my apt after my pet had become ill. I initially requested a specialty clean of a small area of carpet that Amy quoted me over the phone on the min to max price of this request. She also explained the procedure involved. I had some difficulty scheduling this appt as I stated that I needed an afternoon appt but the young woman kept quoting morning hours (not Amy). I was finally able to schedule a 1-5 time frame. I ended up rescheduling and revising my service after losing my pet. I added a full apt clean to the request. Rescheduling was difficult and involved 3 calls to the office before someone could help me, and I stated each time that I was in need of simply rescheduling. I was given an appt on Fri 8/21 from 9-12. The office called me at 1050 to let me know that the tech would be there between 11 and 12. Looking at the time, I feel that was a given. When the tech arrived, he didn't seem too happy, and after sniffing the carpet, he said that we could probably just do a good surface clean versus the deep clean which involved an enzyme treatment and switching out the pad in the area. Since I am in a rental, I asked if we could do the more detailed work since this is not my property. He completed the detailed clean of this area and did the full apt clean. He went to his truck to get the billing paperwork. At payment, he commented thar he didn't know who quoted me over the phone for this work, but they shouldn't have because no one wants to come out for the price quoted. I was surprised at the statement. While I understand there was a mis quote at the office and the estimate wasn't revised when I revised my service request, saying this to a customer on an office error is rude. When he called my card into the office, his phone was on speaker and I got to hear the office worker use the f word as she struggled to process the payment. Unprofessional. The tech told me as he was leaving to place a fan near the area that he deep cleaned. Luckily, I had one on hand. A couple days later, I noticed two circular patterns in the area that had been specially cleaned. It appeared to be where I had dabbed an over the counter application pre professional clean. I felt that when he did the surface clean in this area, it just didn't get hit enough with the sprayer. I sent a written note through their email on their business page, but did not receive a response. I called the office and my call was sent to Amy. I explained my complaint, and she said that she would send the tech back out to address it and do a refresh. She said that he is grumpy, but she would ask him to be nice??? Really, you have to ask an employee to be nice? She said that due to a lot of move outs on the schedule, the first available appt was a week out. Zero effort was made to work in this 15 min appt sooner on a customer complaint on a completed/paid job. I explained that I was off of work on Mon July 31 and Tues Aug 1. She was unable to accomodate and I had to adjust my work schedule on Wed Aug 9. I was given a 9a-12p window and told that she would ask the tech to come earlier in that time frame. He arrived at 1125. He rinsed the area of concern and advised that the spot was probably due to the cleaner I applied pre professional clean and it hadn't rinsed out during the first appointment. The area looks fine now, but I can still smell the enzyme treatment that was applied at the first treatment as it has a distinct odor. There was no follow up from the office after this appointment and the company did not respond to the BBB when they sent correspondence on my behalf. Consumer beware. There are a lot of other contractors out there, and I feel that they would have better customer focus and more organization within their office.

I love the entire office staff first of all! That's Becky, Diamond, Becca, and Amy. These ladies rock on a daily basis. Not only do they keep my apartment building carpets clean for all 184 units. They also are always available for emergencies such as water intrusions from leaks. Their team is always on schedule for move ins and move outs. I would highly recommend Peerless Carpet Care and Restoration.

Many thanks to Al Pulliam and his team at Peerless Restoration for a superlative job restoring our house after a lightning strike. In addition to dealing with the demolition, rebuild, furniture cleaning and storage, as well as handling some difficult out-of-the-ordinary issues, Al added a level of support and confidence that kept me calm and composed throughout the process. I was kept apprised of the steps along the way, and I especially appreciated that I was always sure that the contractors used by Peerless would be prompt and professional.
Thank you, Peerless, for a job well done! -
This firm came to me recommended and well reviewed. That was not my experience. They no-showed for an estimate about which emails had been exchanged the prior day, gave a weak excuse for the failure, and self-scheduled a replacement visit with an unauthorized party. That last part made clear to me they had failed to take the whole thing seriously because i had meticulously detailed the reasons and requirements for the originally scheduled visit.
Unlike many disgruntled customers i didn't yell and scream and i didn't run to the internet. Instead i faxed them a 3-page typed letter with my concerns. I received a confirmation of transmission and receipt for this letter. Peerless never acknowledged the letter in anyway.
I still gave them too much benefit of the doubt and two days later called the recipient of the fax. He didn't return the message. I would urge you not to consider use of this firm. -
Al Pulliam was our project manager however we never ended up using them to fix our water damage. He was very rude and wouldn’t give us exact numbers or explanations we asked for. He was very much against any changes we wanted to make, to make our house the way we wanted. The mitigation team and previous estimator were great. We were very disappointed that such a bad experience with Al made us choose not to use Peerless at all! Definitely bad for business. Would not recommend their construction services if Al Pulliam is involved.
