Great Service - No Sales!! Went to other companies who were good but recommended we replace our entire unit. Russel is very laid back but really knows his stuff when it comes to electrical and has no problem answering any question, I may have no matter how simple it seems. Christian Price is a life saver.... I had a last-minute emergency in one of my units and he literally said "We can take care of that no problem at all" AND WITHIN 2 HOURS HIS GUY WAS ONSITE FIXING MY PROBLEM. I purchased a home in Oakton a couple of years ago that was built in the early 70's. One of the previous homeowners had that true Harry homeowner do it Do-it-yourselfer spirit. I have learned after my many years of experiences that we all should stay in our lanes and let the right people do the right job. My service breaker panel itself had a rats nest of wires & junction boxes hanging off the panel. I was constantly having overloaded breakers trip and had an overall scary situation when I had to reset one.
I called Nichols & Phipps to come out and review my mess. Russell came out and after listening and taking time review my current set up he suggested that they perform a " Heavy Up" to a 200 amp service. My existing panel was a 150 amp service and had no more room for today's electrical requirements. My whole house generator panel needed to be cleaned up as well and he discovered that my gas lines & water lines in my home were not grounded and would like to bring everything up to code. I mentioned that I was installing a shed/ pool house in the near future and he suggested that we install a sub panel outside to provide service to whatever I might want to do. What a great Idea! He provided me a very reasonable price to perform the work and we scheduled a day for him to come back and perform all the work.
When Russell returned he completed all the work in one day! WOW! and what a clean professional job he did.
I am very pleased with the whole process and can say that they will be my service provider in the future.

Our AC unit stopped working on the hottest day of the summer, Nichols and Phipps had a technician out that evening to diagnose the problem, upon hearing the bad news that our outside unit had gone bad (which we knew was going to happen since it was the original unit installed when we first bought our home) they made adjustments to their schedule to have a new unit installed the very next morning, everything went smoothly and their lead salesman even followed up a few weeks after the installation to see if we needed any questions answered about out new AC unit,

Like so many of the other reviewers, we had polybutylene plumbing in our townhouse. We went a number of years with relatively few problems, but once they started the frequency and severity rapidly increased. We got up to three significant leaks in a span of 9 months. Other plumbers helped us with temporary fixes but even they encouraged us to plan for the inevitable full house repipe project.

We did the due diligence and saw that the field spanned from super expensive national brands to shaky small shop teams that simply subcontract it out to unskilled and inexperienced workers to merely hit low bid. We truly lucked out and found the sweet spot combination in Nichols and Phipps. They are a trusted local shop with decades of stability and experience but they remain nimble and small enough to offer very aggressive and fair pricing for the job. The owner Fred happened to respond to my initial inquiry and he continued to run point all throughout the job as a direct contact in our case.

Fred came out and did an initial assessment to get a game plan for our townhouse layout and peculiarities. He actively encouraged me to get other quotes to see the scope of the job and weigh what Nichols and Phipps could do for us with the budget we had. Fred had another veteran specialist, Drew, come out and confirm he agreed on the plan of attack. With consensus on approach set, Fred was able to give me a detailed scope of work and very reasonable pricing on first pass. No song and dance needed or unpleasant negotiating tactics. Just an honest straightforward and fair offer. Fred told me he expected that he and a team of three other employees could knock the job out in probably 2, maybe 3 days if they ran into unforeseen problems. He said they would focus on knocking out one of our bathrooms on the first day so we always would maintain some facilities throughout the span of the job, so that was a relief. Needless to say we accepted the offer and set a date for the work to begin.

The team assembled was fantastic. Fred came out personally to see the job through and was joined with Drew, Miguel and Thomas. Everyone showed up promptly and they got down to business quickly. The team was friendly, professional and very approachable. They proactively explained the process and were very responsive to any questions I had. I was working from home remotely but seeing the team work together hand in glove was both reassuring but also entertaining. Seeing the group in action in a professional manner but also light hearted enough to make jokes all around over the two days helped take the edge off on an otherwise stressful situation.

As promised they got the job done in two days and Fred even took care of some items that were slightly out of scope. Our fridge line was copper and technically could have been left, but Fred spotted a weak spot were we were likely to encounter a failure in the future. Even though he would have been within his rights to leave it alone he made sure to fix the issue for us while everything was accessible and could be easily addressed. They also warned us to be vigilant and keep an eye over the junction points and main manifold box for potential drops (something common with full initial and re-pipe jobs). We did have a couple of items pop up, but just like with the fridge line, Fred made sure to take care of the issues and we always felt like we were in good hands with Nichols and Phipps.

Bottom line is I highly recommend the company based on my experience with them and we will not hesitate in working with them again in the future on any repairs or service needs. Feel confident with Nichols and Phipps. After being so stressed out for a long stretch of time preceding the work, I slept like a million bucks after they took care of us and resolved our plumbing woes. Thank you!!!

Nichols & Phipps to the rescue! Fred the owner came out my house to check out a leaky water heater. I had two different companies check it out and none did a thing. Fred sprung into action! He worked very hard to save our house from flooding! He went above and beyond and gave us a great price on replacing the water heater. He Stayed late trying to get our new water heater installed.

I can't say enough good things about Nichols & Phipps. Fred is an awesome and we will definitely be using them for our plumbing, heating and air conditioning needs.

Fred and his team repiped my entire home (I had quest pipes that kept leaking). I received a few estimates, but he was the most affordable and I am glad we went with his company! They were very professional and easy to work with, and made the experience of having water turned on and off for 3 days as easy as it could be. Fred continuously communicated with us about what was going on throughout the process, and while a few minor issues came up due to how the original quest piping was put in, they worked through them without complaint. Fred also helped out with installing a new faucet and fixing incorrect plumbing installations made by the previous owner and everything was done wonderfully and quickly. I paid the price I was given before the job started- there were no surprise charges due to any unforeseen issues or extra work/supplies. We are very happy with the job and plan to use them for plumbing in our next home!
