Auburn Mechanical comes to Keurig/Dr. Pepper for contracted work & they are all great! Great attitudes, professional, & extremely knowledgeable! Chad is awesome & the one I've dealt w/ the most. There's also Alex, James, Logan, & a really nice young lady w/ tatoos (sorry, I can't remember her name) that I've dealt w/ too. Thank you guys so much for the extra effort everyone puts in.

Dishonest and overcharges. When the contractor fixed an issue in an hour during business operating hours, they instead charged 2 hours overtime ($270.50/hr) plus 30min additional ($175) to replenish building engineer stock. Including parts, they charged $1045 to replace water actuator. None of these charges were previously discussed or explained.
When contested, they insisted that I had “misinformation” until I shared screenshots of phone call timestamp and tenant’s text messages showing that the contractor was in/out within an hour from 3pm.
Then they now switched saying that the service charges are 2 hours minimum (not shared with us, neither the overtime hours) and that they would “authorize” changing 2.5 hours back to standard charges.
Don’t recommend this vendor. -
Over-priced, dishonest and rude.
The tech came in to check my broken HVAC and confirmed a leak within 5 mins of arriving. Leaves stating it is an easy standard fix, not replacement needed. Charges me for 2 hours (they said its minimum), additional parking charges (although the technician stated that they are at the condo building for several appts), consumable fees, travel charges - all adding up to over $500.
Then I receive an estimate of $3500 to fix the leak and the initial visit charges not included. When I asked if they suggest replacing the unit if its that expensive to fix, or if this cost is justified and what life the unit will get, i got no response. After my wife called them, they stated that they were too pricey and do commercial only and were only doing it for me as a favor. They are union technicians and charge way more than normal. If price was such a concern, that I shouldn't have approached them on the first place.... yada-yada.
I finally called to confronted they said the estimate was just the max it could cost. and that they will need to do another leak check to know what the repair cost would be. Not sure what the first visit covered.
Anyways, I am not happy with the service, the attitude and the professionalism. -
Good service but poor price transparency.
The technician (Audi) was experienced and very professional and did a good job of diagnosing a problem with my HVAC. He explained the likely cause of the issue and implemented a workaround so my HVAC system could run at half capacity until a new part was procured and installed. I appreciate the good work that they did.
However, I was disappointed by Auburn Mechanical's price transparency: I found out when I got the bill that I was being charged for 2 hours of drive time at $270/hour, on top of the 2 hours the tech was onsite, plus a $50 truck charge and $25 consumables charge. The service rate, truck charge and consumables charge was explained to me by the dispatcher, and I agreed to them: However, the 2 hours drive time was not stated on their Website nor was it disclosed to me by the dispatcher when I asked for all the applicable charges. I certainly would have made a different service choice if I had known that I would be charged for 2 hours of drive time at $270/hour.
When I called to discuss what I saw as a billing discrepancy, the service department didn't agree that I should have been informed up front, instead blaming it on their labor union contract and industry practices. To be clear, I support Auburn Mechanical charging whatever they want as long as they disclose their pricing so that a customer can make an informed choice. However, I find it unethical to have hidden charges, and unprofessional to throw shade on their union workforce and "industry practices" instead of owning the prices they charge their customers.
I would use Auburn Mechanical again because they are capable of providing good service, but I would recommend anyone considering them to interrogate the dispatcher carefully about all applicable charges, especially drive time, to avoid unpleasant surprises on the bill. -
Technician spent 1 hour to pick up 2 new filters and I have to pay $189 for that hour. I was surprised that HVAC techs didn’t carry standard filters in their trucks. What if my shop was 2 hours away from the filter store? So I’d have to pay $400 for them to pick up filters? Ridiculous!

I call Auburn Mechanical any time we have plumbing issues at our office building. Their staff answers immediately, they're always super friendly, and almost always can get someone out same day or next day to fix our problems. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone!
-
Pros: Fast and efficient, professional. Called me preemptively when they were running late. Showed me some tips about the new disposal.
Cons: VERY expensive -- $600 out the door for a garbage disposal and smaaaall recaulking job. They were barely here for an hour.
They wanted $175 just to install a shower head I had already bought.
The biggest problem...They also missed some of the caulking I asked them to replace.
Normally an overpriced job can be tolerable, but the fact that they actually didn't even finish the job AND charged us so much is incredibly disappointing.
We won't be using them again. -
Should be called the Ghosting Doctors, they have PHDs in cancelling appointments without notification and forever giving you the runaround.
-They cancelled 8 appointments over 7 months and would never notify me.
- Sent the wrong guy once.
- Were dysfunctional to the point of inability.
-Had terrible communication.
Background is a third party warranty company selected this company to fix my tankless water heater which is also my house heat source.
It started pretty OK. The technician, Chad, that came out was great. Super knowledgeable and friendly, and was explaining stuff about my system to me as he worked through diagnosis. He identified the issue as a failed pump pretty quickly. He also said that my installation had some issues and needed some bleeder valves to bleed air out of the lines, that if I opened a warranty with the manufacturer they would require this in the installation to do any warranty work, and that my third party warranty would probably cover it. I said I will think about it.
Chad came back 2 weeks later with a pump and got my hot water working again. The next day I went to take a bath and the tank threw an error and turned itself off. I tested lots of times and found that my got water was fine if I took a shower, but I couldn't run enough hot water for a bath without tripping the reset on the heater.
Chad came back out to take a look and basically said as he said before, I need these valve things installed. I said okay lets do it, lets see if the warranty will cover it, he said ok.
A week later I had not heard anything so I call in to find out how the warranty authorization is going, and they said they were waiting on me to tell then to start. Okay, so then start, I said.
Over the next month I would call twice a week to check on the status and was told they are waiting on something or other. Then, they said the claim was closed because it had been too long, so I had to re-open it with my warranty company.
So I did this, and let them know, and then spent another month calling them twice a week before they finally got authorization.
Okay great, let's schedule the work. Three weeks later, the appointment came and went and they didn't show up. I called them and they said the appointment was cancelled. By them. And they did not notify me.
So we rescheduled. A couple weeks later, again cancelled on me with no notice. So we rescheduled. Several weeks later, same thing. And again.
So without asking, the lady I had been working with said she didn't know what was happening and put me on with the boss, he basically said that they needed Chad specifically for this job because he is the one with the plan and it will take half a day, and they keep scheduling the wrong technicians and only for a short diagnostic visit, so they just cancel the appointment. Without notifying me or attempting to reschedule.
They scheduled several more appointments with me and did not show up or notify me they were canceling again.
They did manage to keep one appointment. It was not Chad, and he essentially said "Well it's Chad's plan so bye"
They treated me like it was my fault Chad was on vacation when they scheduled him. And they treated me like I was being callous when Chad was in the hospital and they cancelled an appointment without telling me anything about why. I had no idea he was in the hospital.
This whole thing started in May. We get to December.
I call and talk to the boss man. He tells me that he pulled Chad from my appointment to send him to other more important people who don't have heat. I tell him my hot water is my heat. He doesn't care, says I have to wait 2 weeks before I can call back and reschedule, which of course is another 2 week wait.. I do. They no call no show again.
I give up.
I have to open a new claim and pay my deductible again and start over with a company that isn't entirely dysfunctional.
Furnace Doctors was a terrible experience that ate up so much of my time and left me with a half working heat and hot water system for 7 months.
