Avoid this company if you are using a home warranty service. This company is a scam. As many reviewer has experienced the same problem, they purposefully delay processing service when it is coming from a home warranty company. It took them 2 weeks to submit the diagnosis after multiple calls and the requirement is to submit within 48 hours. Then after submitting the diagnose and got the approval, it took another 3 weeks and they still didn't order the part which I can easily find online myself. Every time you call them, they are saying they are doing research. After the frustrating experience, I called the home warranty company to pay for a second opinion just in order to get a different company to work on this after 5 weeks of waiting. The second company come the next day and fixed the problem right on the spot without needing to order any parts! This company is a scam.

The service performed on my furnace was professional, thorough, and courteous. I have an old furnace and the parts had to be ordered from the East Coast. That took some time, and patience on my part. My house began to warm up as soon as the technician finished the repairs. Both personnel who visited my home were friendly, courteous and polite. Many thanks for a job well done!

I should’ve read the previous reviews because they all say the same thing, this company is a scam! Not sure how they are still in business. They lie on reports and then say they need to do “research” on the issue and never get back to you. They take your money and RUN!! They need to be reported. They lied and said my furnace was running at a certain voltage when it really wasn’t. The owner cursed me out when I spoke with them as well. DO NOT USE!!

Avoid at all cost, especially if you are going through warranty. The company does not have any processes or standards. They will continue to delay servicing the claim and then will make an excuse to abandon it. You will end up getting ping ponged between their front desk and warranty desk. They have the worst warranty desk person who does not answer calls or cares about the customers. Horrible company with questionable practices.

This is probably one of the worst HVAC company that I have worked with. I utilized a warranty company to fix my HVAC and they let this order hang for literally 8 months. I called these people every month to get an update but they always play clueless and say they will get back to me. To make matters even worst, both them and the warranty company are pointing fingers at each other and they have audacity to say that I am rude. As a customer, i call them and the warranty company constantly but get no where. On my final call after speaking with warranty company i call Furnace doctors again and the female owner decide to say that I am rude and do not want my business. She does not take any accountability for leaving my order hanging for 8 months and not being responsive to any of my calls. Pure trash.

Got inducer motor replaced through home warranty in feb 2025 and the heater stopped working when tried the following winter in Oct. Reason - the motor stopped working. How can someone install a poor part that doesn’t even work for an year at least. The insurance had only this business in their list, so went through them. Now the poor ratings totally makes sense.

My home warranty company selected Furnace Doctors (FD) to deal with a pinhole leak in a copper pipe on my boiler system in the garage. The leak was not inside the wall. After reading FD's Yelp and Google reviews, I knew I needed a different vendor. John at FD phoned me because the dispatch had already been created. After describing the leak to John, sending the attached two photos and informing him that the kitchen pantry was on the other side of the wall, he said the 8'x8' diamond plate would have be removed before work could begin. Preposterous! The entire boiler system would have to have been removed just to access the diamond plate. If I were going to do that (not), I might as well replace the entire 19 year-old system to the tune of about $20,000. The home warranty company provided the names of three alternate plumbers (I told them anybody but FD) altho' they tried sending FD again. I selected a plumber 5 minutes from my home and once I opened the drywall in the pantry, my local plumber had the repair completed within a couple days. Always read reviews and check with your state contractor licensing agency before hiring a contractor. (Photos can be seen on my Yelp review.)

    Extremely Unprofessional and Disappointing Experience
I had a terrible experience with Furnace Doctor through my home warranty company. It took them two months just to send a diagnosis back to the warranty provider, leaving us without AC during the peak of summer. During this time, we received no clear communication, no updates, and absolutely no sense of urgency from their team.
To make matters worse, the technician miswired the HVAC unit, which caused the motor to shut down. Instead of identifying their mistake, they incorrectly claimed the motor was broken and left us without a working system. They were unresponsive to phone calls, difficult to schedule with, and rude when we asked for updates. At one point, they even called me to ask what the diagnosis was — something they should have known themselves.
Out of frustration, I asked my warranty company for a cash-out so I could hire someone else. When the new technician came, he discovered the issue was simply a miswiring caused by Furnace Doctor, not a failed motor. Once rewired properly, the entire system worked perfectly — no motor replacement needed.
This company wasted two months of my time, caused undue stress, and nearly cost me unnecessary repairs. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, I strongly advise against using Furnace Doctor. Completely unprofessional from start to finish.

Agree with the rest of the comments regarding lack of professionalism, turnaround time and any respect for returning calls and something as simple as scheduling a return visit within a reasonable timeframe. I was dealing with them through First American Warranty for a heat related issue. Working through this company created undue stress for tenants and myself.

Makes me second guess First American warranty as a service (not worth the hassle and pain) and their selection of vendors. With this many complaints, they need to DROP these vendors from their network of providers. Both First American and Furnace Dr. should do better.

Absolutely the worst experience with a home repair that I’ve ever experienced. They were assigned through American Home Shield. First repair was not completed and I had to have another company come out to finish the job. Then, we were unfortunately re-assigned this horrible company for another job. They diagnosed the problem and I never heard back. Then, I called a week later and was told “wait in line” and that I would be contacted. I called again 2 weeks later and was told the ticket was closed as completed. Nothing had been done. Then I was told they had to re-diagnose and again, ‘wait in line’. John is abrupt and rude. The receptionist is deceptive and dismissive.

They for one are probably the worst when it comes to organization. My home warranty sent them as the contractor and I agree that they are a scam. They came out to address my issue said they fixed it and then two days later my AC broke. They came back and said I need a new AC and never filed the paperwork with my warranty. It got to the point because my warranty couldn’t get a hold of them they escalated them to the contractor escalations department and fired them. They then sent Mountain Heating out and they diagnosed my unit immediately. They also discovered that furnace doctors didn’t actually fix my unit they broke it. Burnt a hole into the dual cap. Like how do you do that if you are replacing it? Even the second opinion was confused how they messed this up so badly. Literally over a month later my AC is fixed by a different company who fixed it the right way the first day. Do not recommend Furnace Doctors to anyone. Not to mention Samantha is terrible at filing your paperwork if you have First American. I had to send the pink copy to prove they said I needed an AC because they told my warranty they fixed it when they clearly didn’t. Picture below is the dual cap that apparently Furnace Doctors “fixed” but yet there is a hole in it. Again like how?

NOT MY CHOOSING. I was referred to this company through my home owners insurance. Very disorganized. The can never find my paperwork. Leann is RUDE, Liz never calls back. John (I believe is the owner) has also NOT returned calls as promised on multiple occasions. Attitude reflects leadership. We have been without heat with an infant in home since 12/9/25. Today is December 23, 2025. No one hear will prioritize the customer. Based on my experience and the overall 1.5 stars and similar complaints I have filed a consumer complaints.

I usually avoid bad reviews and try to give good reviews because business is hard, the customer thinks they are right when they are not.

I have had several interactions at multiple properties.

    It's very hit and miss.

Get the right person, it's fine.
Get the wrong person... it's terrible.

I'll admit they are bound by First AmericanHome Warranty Policies which are anti-human, profit extraction, and make it hard for them to do their job.

    That being said.

    The first guy fixed it
    He didn't it broke
    It leaked gas
The 2nd guy the top dog of service tech's

    He ordered parts

    They were delayed for weeks

SOme guy came out and only had 1 of 5 heat exchangeers... so now it was broken again.

My tennants were so angry and over it... I could not longer afford to not give my tennants heat.

This only works when you live in the house and are willing to go weeks or months without service. Manage experts/techs/service people... be as smart or better than they are... essentially be prepared to run the project and be on top of them because they won't be.

Maybe home warranty companies should not exist. Maybe the state taxes too much... But I think I'll be p;rocessing this with my counsellor it's just ridiculous.

    If you want
    Poor Service
    Things not working
    People not showing up
People not fixing things then pick furnace doctors and first american home warranty.

If you have American Home Shield (AHS) DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. John Day and his team are the ABSOLUTE worst contractors. They were contracted by AHS to fix our boiler in October of 2025 and instead left us with 3 leaks and a boiler that still does not work (Feb 1st) due to a misdiagnosis of the original problem. Their team is unprofessional at best. They are pros at ghosting. You're better off paying out of pocket and hiring a reputable company. You have to be pretty bad to score a 1.9 on Google Reviews.

They were great they answered all of my questions and suggested the right piece of equipment for my job and it worked great...

I rented a plasma cutter from sunbelt, it didn’t work, and I found out there was a consumable (tip peace) missing.
When I returned it they made it right and let me rent it again for free.
After the peace was installed the plasma cutter worked great and got the job done.

I would recommend checking equipment before leaving with it.

I needed a heavy duty hand truck to move a large safe but ran into trouble finding one. I finally located one at Sunbelt rentals in Auburn. Spencer and staff were extremely helpful during the rental process. Excellent customer service.

Anthony absolutely rocked it. I need two large self contained units delivered asap. He had them delivered within a few hours of my call on a holiday and had me up and running with no issues. Thanks again
