Plumbing reviews in Gig Harbor, Washington

Professional. Noticed at the door we take our shoes off. So he did too without asking. Shows they have respect.
-
Price for job literally 10% of what Harts was, for the same parts. Also fixed our water heater in maybe 10 minutes
-
Scheduled once then had to reschedule 3 times due to their plumbers running late, 4th time was too many times so we didn’t hire them, it’s a shame although this job was small we had a much bigger one to follow that they missed out on.

Rich & Richard were excellent. They were prompt and did great work. Looking forward to working with them again.
-
They truly earn their 5 stars: knowledgeable, efficient, and an eye for detail. We wouldn't use anyone else.

We had a pretty involved plumbing issue that Richard never gave up on. We were very pleased with the service!
-
Excellant service. They saved me hundred of dollars by giving me instructions over the phone on how to deal with a plumbing issue, no charge!
They are busy and hard to book, but worth it. -
These guys are the best! We were with out hot water and they squeezed us in. They have done this more than once. Best plumbers around.

Purdy plumbing came out on the day I called and successfully completed their job that I had called them for. Nice crew, will use again if needs be.

Highly recommend them. I had left a message the night before because they were closed but as soon as they opened Linda called me back and scheduled a plumber as soon as he was available. The plumber was very knowledgeable, fast to find the problem and fixing it. Thank you

Took advantage of my elderly mother! Charged a service fee for bringing the tank of the toilet that they failed to bring originally. Poor service, very unprofessional, do not recommend using this plumbing service period!

Tl:dr: Fantastic, super responsive company that I will absolutely use for any plumbing-related need I have going forward.
So, I tried my hand at wholly inexperienced, handyman plumbing, and it went about as well as you can imagine. I installed a new kitchen faucet, without issue. Everything was working great, until the next morning when there was a puddle on the kitchen floor. I found out the ancient cut-off valves under the sink had given way to the ravages of time. So, I figured, "No problem, they all look the same. I'll just take one off, take it to Lowes and replace it. Easy peasy."
NARRATOR: It was not easy, nor peasy.
After learning what a compression valve was, and how my typical set of garage tools was not up to the task of removing them, I turned to the Dremel... Which, admittedly, did meet with some success, until I got to one that I couldn't reach with the Dremel.
It was, at this point, that I threw in the towel (well, actually, towels... As I'd soaked quite a few).
I called about a dozen plumbers. With most, I ran into voicemails. The others were able to give me an "inspection date", which would be followed up by a "work date". None of which met my requirements of, "I kinda need it right now, as I've had to cut off the main water supply to my house".
I was able to reach a very pleasant human at Purdy, who was able to schedule me for a 4-hour window the next day. The plumber (Richard) arrived only an hour into the window (...and called 20 minutes before, to make sure I was home and available).
Richard made quick work of replacing the cut-off valves, reattaching everything, verifying no leaks of any kind were present and verifying the functionality of all appliances hooked to the under sink lines.
All told, taxes and a new T-junction included, it came to under $200.
Wholly satisfied with everything about Purdy, and could not ask for a better experience. -
My garbage disposal broke and I called Purdy Plumbing to fix it. Rich and his apprentice Joey were really hard workers and such nice guys. I will definitely use them for any plumbing needs I have!

I called with an emergency for a leak. I spoke to a nice lady to set an appointment but she needed to call me back. The next call was her going over rates with until she was interrupted by the plumber. He was rude and rushing me to make a decision as he stated he is already busy. I was going to go with them and needed to call them back to cancel my previous appointment and before I could hang up, I heard him in the background saying we’re not going to go out there etc. it’s nice to know when you call for service, you might be wasting there time. I found another company with 180 degree results!

Never thought it would be possible for a visit from a plumber to make me happy but this one did. I recently sprung a leak and had to call for professional help. These guys fixed the problem on the first visit and really put me at ease during the process. They were patient, prompt, thorough, communicative, pleasant, and very fairly priced. I highly recommend you give them a try!

Purdy Plumbing goes the extra mile! They solved a difficult problem wirh the drainline in my crawl space. Other plumbers couldn't figure out a solution. Call them! I am delighted with their dedication in doing the job right.

Awesome company! Had a backup in our bath. Called Purdy and Richard came out that day. When he got here water had begun pooling on the floor so he jumped to help track down cause. Thinking it was septic, called Express who cleaned out as much as they could. Still had water so called Purdy who found time to come out same day again. After snaking drain they cleared the blockage and saved the day. Highly recommend!

Beware Purdy Plumbing! Maybe the worst contractor I've ever dealt with, and I'm 58 and have hired countless contractors. Our tub wasn't holding water - the trip lever wasn't working - so we called Purdy Plumbing. Their first trip was okay - Jason assessed the problem, improved water flow, said he needed to return to go through crawlspace to fix tub drain, and billed me $186, which I paid. Next day the shower/tub started leaking and I alerted the office about this new problem. Jason showed up for 2nd visit, said the leak wasn't their fault at all and refused to work on the main problem I called them in the first place (the broken trip lever/tub not holding water). Jason then walked off the job and said I could "find another plumber". I then called the office to relay what happened and Lori was surprised and said their plumbers shouldn't do that. Ten minutes later, the owner of Purdy Plumbing, Doug, called me back and it was clear he didn't have all the facts. That didn't stop him from defending his plumber walking off the job, amazingly calling me "a punk" and, more amazingly, angrily inviting me to meet him so we could fight to settle the issue. I got off the phone quickly - good idea when talking with someone with deep anger issues - and because he had threatened me my wife urged me to call Pierce County Sheriff's department, which I did. I tried Purdy Plumbing because most of the reviews were good - I cannot relay just how bad they were to us.
Update to the above: Adam from Anewhere Plumbing came over and fixed the job quickly and efficiently, for less money. He also installed a push drain, which Purdy (Jason) said could not be put in. He also didn't go through the crawl space to fix problem, which would've been tougher and more expensive, so I'm now thinking that Jason either didn't know what he was doing or wanted to run up the bill. -
After getting a $590 water bill and being unable to find the issue on my own, I reached out to several plumbing companies for help. Many were happy to head out to help me find the problem. When I contacted Purdy Plumbing, Tammy suggested that I try a few things before they sent someone out Her concern was that I might require the services of a leak detection company, and she wanted me to needlessly spend money.
Based upon her advice, I was able to find the issue and resolve it. This is what I call customer service and customer care. The next time I have an issue, I'm calling you, so you earned a customer. -
Highly recommend Purdy Plumbing. Great customer service, friendly, easy to talk to and honest. I appreciated Rich and his honesty and his thorough work. I definitely will be using this company again and will recommend them to friends and family. Thank you for such a fast response time!!
