I will recommend Alvarez Heating and Air Conditioning to all my friends and family. I called because my air conditioning was leaking into my basement. The little gal who answered the phone when I called was super sweet (Amber, I think) and sent Steve and Victor out to my house in Prosser. I didn't feel it was an emergency as I had shut off my air conditioning but they still came out that day and within 2 hours of the call. Steve had the upgraded part on hand to fix my air conditioning. Everything is working great and I will use this company for my yearly servicing and any future issues with my heating and air. The cost was reasonable and service was excellent! Thank you for a job well done!!

Wonderful, fast service! Sergio replied quickly to my Yelp request for a quote and was able to send a technician over in less than an hour! Victor was knowledgeable and was able to diagnose and fix the problem quickly. The price for the part was fair, and the service charge was only $49.99! Overall, I felt satisfied with the service and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of HVAC repair!

UPDATE: The very next day my parent's AC stopped working and I called Alvarez again. They gave us a special offer for being a repeat customer and their final price was 66% LESS than the initial company my parent's called. I will be an Alvarez customer for life now and strongly urge all my friends to go to them for their HVAC needs!

I called because our AC went out and it’s supposed to hit triple digits. The person who answered told me they could have someone to my house within the next hour or so but would have someone call me to give a time. When they called me back they said someone would be to my house within 45 min. Guy was here within the 45 and fixed our problem within 20 min. ON A SATURDAY. And it’s hot. I would recommend these guys without a doubt. Great job. I truly appreciate your help and amazing customer service.

I loved Terence. Very professional and efficient. Best of all he fixed my fireplace!!! I would highly recommend Chinook Heating and Air. I also loved Andre’s from yesterday he worked very hard and did as much as could with what he had. Thank you to both gentlemen.

We replaced our heat pump in 2018, and sought quotes from at least six local companies. I also got a lot of help with research from a cousin who owns an HVAC company elsewhere. Chinook provided by far the best price and were the most professional of any of the companies we spoke with. I think we saved $4k going with Chinook compared with the next highest quote. The owner spent time with us at our house talking about our needs and best options. We have been really happy with the new system. Their annual maintenance program is very affordable. We have had one issue since install and the service guy was out to help us within a half hour of our call. I could not ask for or hope for a better and more professional company.

Just a follow-up. Chinook techs are always professional and friendly! We appreciate the twice-yearly service!

Feb 2025: Another follow up. We had a sudden failure of a transformer on our unit today, and Eduardo spent about 3 hours this evening troubleshooting the failure and making arrangements for completing the repair tomorrow! Great customer service as always! Really good that there is 24 hours coverage for emergency service.

We received a text telling us our technician was on his way and he arrived when expected. Julio was very thorough in his work and explained clearly everything that was done. Chinook has always been very responsive to our HVAC needs.

Was taking care of my daughters home, went in the garage and smelled a gas leak coming from the furnace. I called cascade natural gas and they immediately came out, they checked it out and told me it was coming from a large valve on the furnace. They red tagged it, told me do not turn on gas gas until I got it fixed. I called Chinook Heating and told them the situation and they immediately sent someone. I told them where the gas company found the leak. He insisted on doing his own diagnosis, he found a leak on a fitting. I was skeptical because of what I was told previously. He tighten the fitting, he rechecked and said said it was fixed. Chinook had every opportunity to give me a large bill but they were very honest. I highly recommend Chinook for heating repair, they are honest, very reasonable and the gentleman that came out was very professional. Great job!!!

Our AC went out in the evening on one of our record heat days. Chinook was great, because I was able to call after hours and speak to a real person, who was so compassionate and helpful. They were able to get me a next day appointment and the tech did a thorough job checking everything and ultimately fixing our ac, and for a reasonable price. Everyone I spoke with was respectful, nice, and gave clear communication, which I appreciate immensely. I don’t typically leave reviews but they deserved to know a job well done. Thanks Chinook!

They thoroughly checked out our system and made sure everything was operating properly. We have a maintenance contract with them and it keeps things working and serviced.
March 2025- Henry did a great job checking and cleaning our system. He made some adjustments to our thermostats that should help reduce the winter bill spikes.

I called Chinook at 8:00 a.m. as my 93-yr old mom's home reached 91 degrees the previous night. Alfa recognized the emergency and was at my mom's home in West Richland within 20 minutes. She worked quickly to put a team together that could install a new heat pump system the next day. She offered to help out with a portable air conditioning unit. To my surprise Alfa also connected me to Benton REA to see if my mom could qualify for any rebates.

The crew was at my home at 7:00 a.m. the next morning and worked tirelessly to install a complete high efficiency heat pump system. The crew was professional in their attention to installation details and meticulous in their cleanup inside and outside. I am extremely happy with the work that Chinook Heating and Air performed at my mom's home in West Richland. I am incredibly grateful to have engaged such a responsive team to help out in an emergency situation. Thank you so much Alfa, Jaime and Carlos! I highly recommend working with this company.

Chinook was the company that installed the HVAC in our house when it was built. Our A/C capacitor died and unit would not run. They were able to respond within 24 hours.

Abe is a great technician and was quick and efficient. He explained how things work together in the system, and talked about general maintenance.

Eric arrived today spot on time. And he gave me the insight of electric heating furnace helped to set up the schedule. He is quite knowledgeable and had great curtsy and polite

I live in a house that 3 years old and unit was put in then. This year my AC hasn’t been working properly and I have called 5plus times and still having the same issue. All technicians have being saying it’s the compressor or the communication between compressor and computer. But when they turn off the unit and work on it then turn it on, it seem to reset it self and start working and few days later it wont turn on. And I have relaid that to the same them.

I was told that they finally came to conclusion that is my compressor and they will replace it. Which I was happy they found out the real issues and not we have a solution. I was unhappy about the cost. And mentioned I have a home warranty that I would like to double check and see if they would cover the cost because it was $2600(labor) chinook then did me a solid and said they would eat the cost because all the trouble have had this year with a NEW unit and one of the best unit. And I kept up with their service and am part of their programs for biannual services. That right there is why I will be staying with them as my ac company! Highly recommend.

While all 3, yes 3, service technicians were very polite & professional I believe there are some changes that need to be made. An 84 year old woman should NOT be without heat for 4 days. Tech support should be on call 24/7. Thank you, Henry, for getting the heat going! 2 stars for the company but I would give 5 stars to the guys that came out.

We have been using Chinook for years now and so thankful for them! Our furnace was leaking water today (on a Sunday) and they had a tech out here within two hours! Henry, was amazing! Fantastic customer service and made sure to explain everything to us and keep us updated on what he was doing. 10/10 recommend this company!!

Thank you for fixing my AC during a heatwave. Ronaldo showed in the “delivery” window, made a quick diagnosis (blown out capacitor). He replaced it with a new one that has more capacity. He was super friendly and professional, and he definitely knows what he’s talking is talking about, real pro.
