Plumbing reviews in Olympia, Washington

Stephen Fry came out today and cleaned out two slow drains and did an inspection of the sewer system at our house . He was amazingly thorough and gave us an analysis of some problems in our future. I own an older home so I pay a monthly fee which includes annual inspections of the home systems. It’s good to know when things are going south before it’s a crisis. Harts has been unfailingly professional over the years I’ve been using them. I recommend their services

Harts was quick to arrive and assess the situation. Plumber Jesse was professional and courteous. He explained the situation and what needed to be done to fix it. He answered my all questions and was efficient. Thankfully he and Harts Plumbing didn't throw a fit when my banks cards' limit prevented payment in full after business hours. I appreciate their patience and kindness for not making me feel as if I was trying to pull a fast one!

My technician was amazing! Friendly and very informative on next steps and process before going forward. I appreciate the patience they had for my dog and working around my day.
They cleaned up without leaving a huge mess for me to handle. And just overall great! -
Jovaughn came was professional and very friendly, he was patient in listening and informative in his response to all my questions and concerns. He is an asset to your business, he is a good employee and I will use your services again when the time comes. I gave 4 stars because nothing is perfect but that being said 4 stars is as good as you can get to perfect. Thanks again.

Anthony was very friendly, explained things, and was helpful and professional. If you have dogs like I do, he will be thrilled. He listened to my concerns and worked within my schedule. He provided needed info and answered questions. Nice experience even if more expensive than expected.

Harts always gives excellent service! Today they got to us really quickly and fixed the problem quickly as well! Jesse was wonderful and did a very thorough inspection before talking about his discoveries offering us options and estimate breakdowns! Really appreciated his help and candor!

Corey was amazing and very thorough in getting to the problem and fixing it!! I had a tricky main line issue, and he was very patient and determined to get it unplugged which he did!! Aside from being knowledgeable to do the job, he was very polite, courteous in taking care with keeping my house clean, and professional. I would highly recommend!!

The tech that came out was very knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer all questions I had about electricity around my house. The service was for maintenance on my generator which ended up being a spark plug ($11), oil filter($15), and 1 quart of oil(7$) (and took him 20-30 minutes) cost me over $750. While the service was fantastic, the price was outrageous.

Recently bought an older home in Elma and was needing to install a gas dryer. Called a local company out of Montesano and was told to try and install it myself. I ended up stripping the old 3/4" gas valve on a Sunday. Called Harts because they had good reviews and 24/7 customer service. Was scheduled for Monday. Then Monday got a call saying the technician could not come because of an emergency, rescheduled to Thursday. Jordan Bakken arrived ahead of time, was friendly, and knowledgeable. He is one of the most professional tradesman I've met. He fixed the dryer without judgement towards another DIY job gone bad. He also fixed several sections of older plumbing time bombs. The exploding plastic lines under the kitchen sink and the old home owner failed faucet repair in the shower. He explained everything clearly and gave cost estimates for all work before starting. I was not sure about Harts after having to reschedule, but the communication was always easy and clear with the office and Jordan was and is a rockstar. Thank you Harts! I will definitely be a return customer.
Update:
I reached out to Harts again for an inspection of our 29 year old gas furnace and looking to add air conditioning. Virgil did a great job inspecting everything and explaining what he was doing and looking for. He said that the transducer could stand to be replaced as well as the blower motor could be cleaned. He called Lennox and the part was around $1300 (will hold off on this one). The furnace heat exchanger was showing areas of fatigue, no cracking yet (using a borescope). We did a zoom consult with James going over 6 different options ranging from a midea heat pump down to just replacing the furnace and adding a seer air conditioner.
I do think they could improve on giving more of a concrete time when the technician is coming. I was told anytime between 10-4 and Virgil came at 2:50 and left about 4:30. I also have the feeling that HVAC installers as a whole are pushing for heat pumps due to the phasing out of natural gas, which is fair, but natural gas is still fairly cheap. So I'm not sure the average "savings of an efficient heat pump" are accurate, I still need to look at the numbers to know for sure. Overall great communication, easy scheduling, and quick estimates. Thank you Harts! -
Tyler came out to provide a quote for some plumbing work and was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. From the start he immediately earned my trust — you can tell he’s a true professional who takes pride in his work.
I really appreciated him taking the time to come out and thoroughly look over our house. We’ll absolutely be keeping them in mind for future projects. -
Stephen Fry provided exceptional service and carried himself with the utmost professionalism. He explained everything clearly, ensured my system was up and running, and checked both my sump pump and basin. Through his thorough inspection, he discovered that my sump pump required attention. Hart is fortunate to have such a knowledgeable and dedicated representative. Much appreciated and will be calling for their services again. Thank you.

Chris saved my ass in a pinch 😂 He helped me out in a big way and was willing to work with me to get my project accomplished when other locations didn’t have the tools needed for a non-standard project. He was very responsive to outreach, and has my business going forward.

We contacted Black Lake Plumbing to disconnect a gas dryer. We had to cancel last minute because our electrician told us last minute that they couldn't install the electric outlet for a few more weeks.
When I called the morning of the appointment, Chris got understandably upset and explained that he was a small business and is losing money. When I asked what he would like me to do, he said "don't call back!" and hung up on me.
I understand that you are a small business, and I am really sorry we had to cancel (I was dreading the call), but that's no way to talk to people, man. We're all out here trying to survive.
The gas dryer disconnect was the first of a long list of plumbing projects we were going to hire you for. You were highly recommended. Now we give someone else our money. -
Sean and Chris were responsive and scheduled us right away. Sean was prompt, knowledgeable and professional, the finished work is great and the area put back clean and tidy. Thanks guys!

Was able to get in the same day and the guys showed up on time and were extremely knowledgeable and professional and efficient. They explained what the issue was and what they did to resolve it. Extremely happy and will definitely call them again if I need a plumber in the future!!

In the past week (April 2025), BL plumbing came out twice - once for a water heater issue and then for a bath tub drainage problem (unrelated problems). Both times, they were out within 24 hours of my phone call and they fixed both problems. Sean spent time with me - showing me the burned out thermostats in the water hearing and then the clog in the bathtub drainage pipes. These guys know their stuff. They are quick in response time and very courteous. Five stars!
I called Black Lake Plumbing for a clogged toilet, thinking they would be booked out at least 1-2 weeks. There were here to troubleshoot one hour after the phone call. And one hour later, they were gone, with my toilet and kitchen sink working perfectly. I am shocked and delighted by this experience. I will use this company again, when needed. And, I will whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone who needs plumbing services in the Oly area. -
I was charged $2400 for the replacement which seems exorbitantly high for less than two hours of work. Here's my rationale: Water tanks cost about $1,000. Assume $75/hour for two employees X two hours = $300. Add another $100 for wear-and-tear on the truck. Add another $200 for the cost of doing business. Generous total is $600 plus $1,000 for the tank. $235.00 was added for taxes which was 10% of the grand total $2,635.

Plumbing emergencies are impossible to predict, but they had an opening and got a team over in an hour.
We have eight women living in a home for clean and sober women.
We knew it was going to be a pretty tough job, but they handled it with professionalism, were careful to not make more of a mess than what we were already dealing with.
Thanks for responding so quickly!
