Horrible company and poor ethics. They are cutting down perfectly healthy trees for Developers to make money. They break the law and hire other local companies like Pacific Tree Management to do the dirty Work. Today they are cutting down a 200 year old tree without public notice and on a Saturday to sneak and purposely deceive the community.

Used Ballard Tree Service Inc. To remove a cherry tree that had partially fallen damaging a gazebo. There bid came in at $1000 under other local companies and were able to do the job the same week. Competition companies were at least three weeks out and cost 50 percent more. They ground up most everything & hauled away the rest the very next day. They take major credit cards and give discounts for cash. Don't waste time , get that job done and go with Ballard Tree Service.

Ballard Tree Service came recommended by a friend and we used them to trim three large trees around our house. One of them was overhanging our roof. They conducted the work with utmost care and professionalism and cleaned up thoroughly at the end. BTS was the fourth company we called before settling on them. Not only were they the cheapest, they offered the earliest service date and importantly, were very knowledgeable about the trees. Many of the previous vendors didn’t even know the type of tree we had and could not assure us that the tree would remain stable after trimming. In all, it was a superb experience.

A great experience. They removed an old laurel hedge and ground the stumps, while taking great care to not damage the adjacent landscape. Reliable work at a fair price. This was our first time using them and we are very happy with the job.

A massive hemlock tree was uprooted and leaning over our house while being held up by another tree - not exactly sure when the damage occurred but we noticed it on a weekday evening around 6pm. We called every 24/7 emergency tree care number we could find and Ballard Tree Service was the first to call back and come to our house to check out the tree. The following morning the crew showed up and the tree was safely removed by 4pm, under the original cost estimate. The crew was professional, took care to protect our property and that of our neighbors, and expertly secured the tree to other trees in the area, while slowly and safely removing the tree. I just moved in and I called to get advice about a very large tree that was leaning towards the neighbor house. The owner came out next day on the weekend which was great. However he just wanted to quote for whatever I was asking for, not what was actually needed. He quoted for cabling the tree and removing a bunch of the branches to lighten it which seemed reasonable, but I had two other arborists come out after, both pointed out that because the tree was curving to straight at the top, and the base was super healthy with no signs of lifting that the tree actually grew that way, was super healthy, and was not at all starting to fall over. I also had some other minor work on the property and Ballard's quote was double others.
Ballard seems to have a history of wanting to remove trees when they don't need to be. If that's what you want then they are the company for you but if you want honest opinions on what actually needs to be done, other companies might be better.

Great job removing a massive, invasive laurel hedge that was threatening our power lines. Both removal and stump grinding were quick and thorough, with minimal impact to the rest of the garden. Very happy with the work - a huge improvement.

Quoted a fair price and the crew did an excellent job trimming two trees in our backyard and cleaning up afterwards. We talked through what we wanted done and they were happy to keep working until we were satisfied with the result.

Provided good advice. Trimmed, shaped two trees and a row of trees hanging over our fence. Looks great. Did just what I asked. Courteous, careful. Knows what they are doing. Third time we have used Ballard Tree Service. Highly recommend.

Ballard Tree does a great job. Friendly crew, attentive to details, like surrounding flower beds. They care about the trees they trim. We've had them help with our trimming for years.

Well they can definitely cut down a tree, but you really measure a company by how they handle their customers when they make a mistake. Unfortunately the arborist thought our tree was a different species and said it would not need a permit to be removed. He was wrong and after the city stopped the removal of the tree and assessed a fine we were in limbo for almost a year having to deal with the city and Ballard Tree Services to get the tree removed that was already partially removed! There lack of follow up and sense of urgency was frustrating and infuriating! There line to me was “we’ll get it cut down!” Though not after making me pay for their mistake, in terms of paying for a replanting plan and a tree that needed to be replanted to replace the tree that they said was good to cut down. After about, what seemed like a lifetime of constant follow up by me to the city of Seattle and BTS we finally had the tree removed! Several months later I found out that I had a lien on my house as BALLARD TREE SERVICE DID NOT PAY the fine assessed to them for mistaken identity of the tree! When I called to get an answer I got the run around for multiple weeks with the owner NEVER calling me back to explain what happened. Yes they finally paid the fine assessed to them, but if we didn’t catch this we would have no way of knowing that they just ignored their fine as a lien would not have been placed on BTS but the homeowner! So to end this DO NOT go with Ballard Tree Service to remove your tree or trees! I really wish I could rate them a -5 star as my experience and stress I incurred over this issue would justify!

We called Ballard Tree Service for a project to remove several trees/shrubs and for pruning of our Camellia and Hydrangeas. We got the estimate quickly. The crew that arrived was professional and communicative with their ETA, and got the large job done very quickly! They did a thorough job grinding the stumps and removing ALL debris. Very impressed and will definitely use them in the future.

Our plum tree died and had shifted away from our yard and was leaning over the neighbors' yard. It was sad as it had given us 17 years of beautiful blossoms and plums, but we didn't want it falling on anyone and knew it had to go.

We called Ballard Tree Service for an assessment and they came out quickly. They handled the tree removal permits with the city and we were able to book a removal date a few weeks later.

Jake the arborist and his two crew members did a fantastic job removing our tree! They had to remove it carefully while not disturbing the neighbors' maple trees and other plants that were very close to it. They were prompt, friendly, and efficient. They thought it might take three hours but it took them only about 1.5 hours. They also asked if we wanted any of the tree for firewood or projects. We said no, so they took away all the branches, trunk pieces, and debris.

We were pleased with how the whole removal process went. A few days later, the office contacted us to see if it went well and if we had any feedback or requests for them before they sent us an invoice. Great customer service! We highly recommend Ballard Tree Service and would definitely hire them again.

I've had my trees pruned for 35 years. After Todd did my trees I "see" them like never before. They have beautiful shape and the light shines through them. Ballard Tree Service is lucky to have such a talented arborist—and at a reasonable price.
