    We had been trying to get our chimney repaired by another local company for almost a year, we finally gave up and called Smoke stacks based on a recommendation from a recommendation on Nextdoor. We had an estimate (lower than the previous company) and the work completed within a week or two. Very professional from start to finish with clear communication the whole way.     Disappointing experience for us. The diagnostic inspection was 5 minutes at most, didn't get the service we requested & paid for, nor the follow-up information or estimate. I called the company to work on a resolution and never heard back from them. Wouldn't recommend. UPDATE: In response to this review Smoke Stacks stated they would try to contact me. Never heard from them.

    I own a duplex and requested an inspection of the upper and lower (lower has an insert) wood burning fireplaces/cleaning if needed. The guys arrived a couple of hours before the appointment and asked if I was home, could they start early. I was, and was fine with an early start. The upper inspection took literally 5 minutes and they indicated it did not require cleaning. The lower did require cleaning. The two technicians that were sent were polite. The charges were $535 for about 45 minutes total appointment time (including any equipment used put away, writing up the bill and payment information). The upstairs inspection consisted of a (reportedly, but not shared with me) cell phone picture. Ashes were left on the floor. The tech said that the lower cleaning only went as far as the brush reached rather than fully cleaned. The guys didn't lay blankets to the entry or over the rug and tracked in snow/salt as well as moving furniture and not replacing. I cannot say that the service quotes by the company was not reflective of the charges. I have had cleanings over the many years of home ownership and have never had a service appointment that left me questioning a $185 charge for a 5 minute inspection consisting of a cell phone photo and a full cleaning/inspection taking less than 30 minutes. The explanation of the scope of services on my bill was not reflected in the work performed. I won't use this company again due to value and questionable thoroughness I did call the company office following the appointment posing the questions related to thorough cleaning/inspection and charges. The response was that the charges were quoted accurately.

    These guys did a massive project on our old house, repairing, rebuilding, and installing new vents. Their work is beautiful and indistinguishable from the original (I’ll update with pics). Moreover, they were good to have around, super hardworking and fast. After multiple estimates, we chose them not only because of seeing some pics of their work, but also because they understood the engineering of our house so much better. True professionals, we are grateful for them!
