Had them out to remove a BIG Maple tree in my back yard. They did a fantastic job and I will definitely have them back next time I need help with trees.

Terrific service. I wanted a stump removed in a very tight spot. Within one week, an arborist from Bugg came to assess the site with just the right information and ability to get the job done! Made my day!!

I am really impressed with the skill of this team. They know how to really take care of trees right, and they do it the way that is best. Instead of using big machinery (which can tear up your yard) and cutting arbitrary branches off, they use ropes to climb the trees and they carefully choose which branches are the right ones to cut. They're clearly passionate about the work they do. It's also amazing to watch!

Colin climbed a really tall oak tree to rescue our cat who had spent two days and nights in the tree and kept climbing higher. He came within hours of my call inquiring about cat rescue. He came equipped with cat rescue equipment. I am really grateful, and will definitely call Colin when we need tree work.

Read a positive review on Nextdoor so requested an estimate to remove two large ash trees and the soonest I could get an appointment was the following week. I did explain this is pretty straightforward, trees are out in front (you can practically touch them from the sidewalk) and asked if I need to be there. They said they like to meet. I agreed and made the appointment and wrote on my calendar. They sent email reminder the day before the appointment AND also a text to my cell phone the morning of the appointment. I waited for them for HALF HOUR. Very irritating because I do not live there, so spent time and gas driving there and then sitting in my car waiting for them. They never showed up ! Especially considering all the reminders they sent, this is just completely unprofesssional.
Edit: changing from 1 to 3 stars. They did followup with quote, which I appreciate, although I will go with a less expensive company. In regards to their comment, they say it is miscommunication, but in our initial conversation I said I could meet them if I was available and they did set a specific time. They sent TWO reminders with the day and time, including one the same day - I thought they would be there when they said they would be.

The crew that came exhibited exceptional professionalism, from their extreme regard for safety and supreme skill to their courteous and joyful teamwork. A Cspecial shout-out to the lead climber Cooper, he is literally poetry in motion and a very nice fellow. I should add, they left the grounds and road immaculately clean.

I had a great experience with Bugg Tree Care. They were professional, fast, and fair priced. I've hired other tree care services in the Madison area; Bugg has been the best. I would definitely recommend them and I'm planning on working with them again the next time I need tree care service.

I had a full healthy dogwood tree in the front of my house in July 2020. I needed some tree work to be done including a tree removal. At the same time, I asked that some bushes be pruned. I was leery of asking to have the dogwood pruned because I had been warned about 10 years ago that pruning could be very harmful to the tree. I asked Bugg about that and they were not concerned. I agreed to have the dogwood pruned but very lightly. Since Bugg did the work, the tree has failed and has evidently died, falling down from the base which has rotted. I asked Bugg to come out to look at it, see if it could be saved, with only a single limb still standing, and to discuss why this healthy tree failed so catastrophically over one year and after the company did the limited pruning. I have called several times. The owner stopped by but didn't get out of his car and sent me an invoice saying it was storm damage and asking for $400. I called again to say this was not storm damage it was damage done by their work of a year ago. I have been assured twice more that the owner would come by again and call me. He has not. If the tree had shown signs of disease or otherwise, Bugg should have noted that and alerted me to that fact before it was pruned. There were no obvious signs of any problem with the tree. I don't know what happened but I do not think Bugg knows either. I will not trust their judgment again. Their failure to even acknowledge the possibility they did something wrong is also troubling.

These guys are the ones to hire! They can climb difficult trees without incident, are timely, quick to respond, tidy and respectful of the yard being worked in as well as being very competitively priced. They don't just do trimming and removal! I got my camera drone stuck in a tree and decided to give them a call on a whim since they've done cat rescues in the past. Colin was nice enough to take time out of his day to help me out! He's a super nice guy and obviously very passionate about what he does. I'll absolutely be recommending him and his team's services to anybody interested.

Bugg Tree Care recently pruned my oak trees. Coordinating the appointment was a breeze, and the two guys who did the job were friendly, efficient, and very knowledgeable about each type of tree on my property. I was really impressed with their pruning methods, utilizing ropes and climbing the trees without major equipment. In my opinion this limited the damage to my trees during this trimming process. The owner also pointed out dying branches that needed to go, which I was really happy with because it saved me from having make another appointment later this year. I couldn't be happier with their work. Very reasonably priced as well.
