At first, I was impressed with MACC. When I called to get a quote, the person I spoke with was very friendly and informative and based on their great reviews online, I was excited to have them clean my rec room carpet. My job was scheduled for Nick to arrive between 1:30-2:00 on a Friday (I received both email and text verification of this too). By 2:30, nobody had shown up, called, texted or emailed so I called MACC to see how long the delay would be, or if there was a scheduling error. The person I spoke with said she didn't know why Nick was late and she told me she'd get in touch with him shortly and then call me back quickly with an update. Another 75 minutes passed and no phone call back, and still nobody had shown up. I called back again and spoke with the same person. She gave a half-baked apology and said she didn't know what Nick hadn't shown up and said she couldn't get in touch with him. I wasted 4 hours of my day off waiting for MACC to show up and was never given a reason for the no-call, no-show on their end. What's perhaps more perplexing is they didn't try to reschedule my appointment or retain my business. I asked if them not showing up for scheduled appointments with no notice given is common with their business and all I was told is "no, this is weird." If your company showed up for a job and the client wasn't around to let you in because they didn't give you the courtesy of cancelling a service they booked, I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate your time being wasted. Customers expect the same thing in return, we don't want our time wasted. I'm not sure why MACC has so many positive reviews online. I'll shop elsewhere.

I would highly recommend Milwaukee Area Carpet Cleaning! Their customer service was efficient and their process was smooth and everything they said they were going to do, they did! The carpet result was excellent. They cared did my rug coffee stains and did an overall clean, and my 7 year old wool blend rug feels, smells and looks nearly brand new! They did pick up and delivery and an honest estimate. I’m very pleased!

Nick was incredibly thorough with the cleaning of our sofa, love seat, and ottoman. We have a small dog who sheds often. Nick was meticulous with the vacuuming and cleaning of our furniture to be sure they looked brand-new. We’ve had other companies come to our home who don’t vacuum prior to cleaning the furniture- this was an absolute game changer! We will most certainly be hiring MACC again.

Nick and his team did an outstanding job restoring my 100 year terrazzo floor that was hidden under nasty commercial glued- down commercial carpet. The floor looks even better than I expected it would. I am so happy that I found this company. Nick, excellent job! I can't wait to do the other hallways.

We used MACC for our floors in preparation to get our home listed. Our carpet is older and we had pets, so the carpet either needed a professional cleaning or to be completely replaced. They were easy to book, did an initial cleaning and then came back for a touch up to take care of the wicking afterward. It looks good now and saved us from having to replace the carpeted areas before selling. They also cleaned our hardwood floors.
They really take their satisfaction guarantee seriously and were able to work with us on a timeline to get everything taken care of before staging our home. Everyone I spoke with was very professional and courteous. Nick was very good about communicating what the issue was after the initial cleaning and took care of the issue asap. We really appreciate their excellent level of service and the quality of the cleaning they did.

Professional and very personable. They did an excellent job on a older carpet with pet stains. It looked great. Special shout out to “Frankie”!!! ( This is an update to previous review. Three days later. One of the rooms cleaned ( master bedroom ) had excessive amount of water in the carpet and took three days to finally feel dry. I was running fans for three days because carpet took on a strong musty smell. Each day I had to spray areas with different carpet fresheners and running fan. I am selling the house and it’s still kind of stinky. We have 2 dogs and carpet is older and we didn’t expect miracles we were realistic. Called office and they said dog smells were probably enhanced from wet carpet, but shouldn’t they know that and add deodorizer or something. Office said they would call technician and get right back to me but it’s late afternoon and still no response. I think they needed to suck more water out of the carpet because the other room did not have this problem. Dropped from 5 to 3 star because of issue and no response back. This was my first time with this company.

Editing my initial 5-star rating to 1-star. Several months ago I sent two expensive rugs ($700+) in for cleaning and pet urine removal. Upon their return, an employee helped me unroll one rug to help place it and we saw it was ruined. The employee guessed it had been rolled up (at their cleaning location) before it was fully dry, which resulted in dye from the rug to stain numerous spots (the employee agreed it was ruined). I sent the rug back and asked that he have Nick, the owner, call me about compensation. No one from Milwaukee Area Carpet Cleaner has ever contacted me. Stay away.

We had previously used Milwaukee Area Carpet Cleaning for our area rugs with no issues so didn't think to read any recent reviews ... much to our detriment. Trying to contact them should have been our first clue since they didn't answer the phone after repeated attempts and their voicemail was always full. We eventually made contact so I scheduled an appointment for them to clean the living/dining room in my 92 year old mother's apartment. I never received the confirmation email so I texted them the morning of the appointment to confirm the time of 3:00-3:30 pm. They texted me back that this time was correct but indicated they might be a "little" late due to their previous project so I asked them to text me when they were on their way which they agreed to. In preparing for the appointment, we went to my mother's apartment and moved out her smaller furniture items to allow a clear pathway for the cleaning. At 4:00 pm (30 minutes after their expected arrival), I texted Nick and asked for his ETA. When I didn't hear anything for another 20 minutes, I sent another text indicating we were getting a little concerned that we hadn't heard from them. Finally, at 5:00 p.m., an hour and a half after the scheduled appointment, I sent a text indicating that this extremely unprofessional service was unacceptable and not to contact us to reschedule. We then had to put my mom's furniture back in place and will need to make other arrangements. After looking at recent reviews, this "no show" or no call situation appears to be a common complaint so wanted to add our experience to advise others.

BE WARNED. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS.

I called on 03/27/25 and spoke with Nick. He seemed very professional and spoke to me about their services. That day, he also offered me a quote riddled with “discounts”. I hired him to come clean my carpets on 04/03/25 with an arrival time between 10-1030 am. He had me place a deposit in the amount of half of the quote. I fairly large sum.

04/03/25 came around and I never saw or heard from Nick, even after numerous attempts to connect with him. I tried calling, texting, and even went to the address listed on Google (which is not a business address; it’s an apartment).

I’m not sure what happened and I’m definitely not sure how this has a 4.7 star rating. I was scammed and you will be, too.

I will be reporting this business everywhere I can to ensure this doesn’t happen to someone else. BUYER BEWARE. This business cannot be trusted. Go elsewhere.

DO NOT USE! Milwaukee Area Carpet Cleaning/Milwaukee Area Stone Professionals - Owner Nick Bokas. I recently contracted Nick to come out and remove and install new grout around my shower and glass block window. I am very disappointed with my interactions/experience with MACC and Nick the owner. He took my deposit and never showed up for the scheduled services. I have sent a letter to request a refund and have not heard a response to resolve the issue.

Outstanding job on a carpet that I had chalked up to being toast. With 2 big daily lake-loving dogs and 3 cats, we might as well open a zoo, but instead at some point we thought “you know, let’s try a white-ish carpet in this huge living space.” Well the years took their toll, Stanley Steamers took our money, and our carpet would smell clean for a week or 2 but the stains always remained. These were deep, undefeatable (or so I thought), nasty stains that were always bad but would come up with the humidity and just looked terrible. Then we discovered Nick with Milwaukee Area Carpet Cleaning! We had a big party planned at our home and I wanted to at least have the carpets cleaned for arriving family and the general smell of the place, had seen some advertising on Facebook and thought I’d reach out to MACC and see if they could take the job on short notice, and they were more than happy to set a time within the week before the party! Nick arrived early, assessed the situation, and got to work. I don’t know if this guy is a sorcerer or some kind of carpet wizard or what, I mean I wasn’t expecting miracles, but here he was performing them. He took the time, mixing crazy concoctions for different stains and going to work on them with a sort of chemical/machine precision, and when he was done the room smelled fantastic and the stains were nowhere to be found. And the chemicals he used did not bother my chemical sensitivities/asthma!

Highly recommend hiring this company for your carpet cleaning needs. I know we will be again – in probably 6 months time at this rate (also toddler, small baby – plz send help 😮😋)

Nick was hired to do carpet stretching due to folds. Instead of stretching the carpet and cut at the ends, he decided to make cuts in the middle of rooms. The cut lines are uglier than the initial folding carpet marks. He charged exorbitant amounts. He also said it would take him at least a day to finish the work but he spent more time smoking than working. I would not hire him again.

Absolutely do not recommend Milwaukee Area Carpet Cleaning. I normally use another company that always does a phenomenal job, but this time I had a carpet seam that split and needed repair. Since Milwaukee Area Carpet Cleaning advertised that they do both repairs and cleaning, I figured I’d have them take care of everything in one visit.

They came out, gave me a middle-of-the-road quote, not cheap, not expensive and scheduled the job. Unfortunately, I was out of town the day of the appointment and had a family member let them in. Partway through, Nick texted me photos of the carpet seam and told me they wouldn’t be able to make it an invisible repair but would “do the best they could.” Fine, I understood that.

When he finished, he told me the carpets came out very clean and asked for payment, which I sent via Venmo. My family member didn’t really check anything because they were only there to open the door.

When I got home the next day, I was absolutely shocked. The carpets looked like they hadn’t even been touched. I’ve had carpets cleaned for years and I’ve never seen work this bad. The same stains that were there before were still there, completely unchanged. I contacted Nick immediately. He told me he could come back on Monday or Tuesday to re-clean, and I told him anytime would work.

Tuesday came and went, no call, no text. I followed up with several messages to ask when they were coming back, and he ghosted me completely.

I definitely do NOT recommend this company, especially if you’re not there to babysit them.

I would recommend Vanguard to other businesses because they are always on time, they are extremely flexible with our changing needs, the staff is always friendly and kind, and they are very easy to get ahold of if I need to change anything or chat with someone
