Worst company. It’s been a month and they still can fix my heater. Either they have a scheduling issues, they send a guy who doesn’t know the unit or they order the wrong parts. It’s mid winter, I’m pregnant and have a baby at home. I hope when they get home to their warm houses they can think of the people who are freezing because they can’t get their company together. On top of everything, they don’t answer the phone. ZERO STARS

Incredible service and fairly priced. Austin and Noah were friendly, on time, and worked diligently to diagnose and repair our A/C unit. I couldn’t be more please with the service, from the office staff to the technicians, Austin Heating and Air is a top notch organization. Will definitely have them back the next time we need assistance.

Freeman was great. Quick, professional and took care of our issue. He came to service the AC and noticed a life-threatening problem with our heater if we were to use it. Dude literally saved our lives. Now I can get the heater taken care of ahead of winter.

Edit: it seems the part replaced has burned out not even 10 minutes into use after turning the AC on, so I'm back to square one. Should've had it running right away after he installed the part.

I was very pleased with Steven the technician from Austin Air Cinditioning. He went above and beyond his duty. Not only did he clean the unit and added freon but he also changed the air filter in the ceiling of my home. Something that the insurance does not provide. AT NO COST! He made a couple of suggestions on how to keep my a/c in good condition and a couple of more tid bits on how to cut cost down. Overall I was very pleased with the service.

If this Company could receive 0 Stars I would give it to them.
In the event that any Home Warranty refers you to them, I would recommend you calling the Warranty and asking for them to assign you to a different Co. It has been 20days since they were requested to repair my AC Unit and they don't show up during the window times they provide you. They have the audacity to close their work orders as completed work. If you opt to reopen the request to have them come and work on the issue they just dont show up. Keep in mind they have no consideration for the adults or children in your household. Stay away from this Co. What can you expect from a Co that has a 2.9 rating. No pride of ownership, sorry for that business owner that runs a business like this.

I received a text message letting me know that the technician was on his way. Steven arrived 10 minutes later. He was very curteous and fast in resolving my issue. I would definitely recommend this company for your HVAC needs.

I cannot speak highly enough of the Austin heating & Air company. After weeks of frustration with a malfunctioning heating unit and multiple unsuccessful attempts by other companies to fix it, I finally decided to give Austin heating & Air a call. From the moment they arrived, their team of technicians displayed a level of professionalism and expertise that was truly impressive.

Terrible , terrible , terrible . Technician did not know what he was doing. Spent two hours looking for a leak he couldn’t pin point , than decided we have a leak and needed a new condenser (unit is 5 years old). Two weeks later , in addition to our new condenser , we needed 1800 dollars in code upgrades. What a joke . Called another company , no leaks, replaced refrigerant , that I suspect was leaked out by previous technician , and Viola all good. Stay away from these “HMO” type of repair companies.

Our air conditioner unit broke down. We have American home shield as our warranty company. They called Austin air and heating on May 20 , 2024. They came out on 5/21 said it needed a new filter, it got replaced. The air did not work. They came out again on May 27 a Holiday and said it needed a new blower and capacitor. Still it did not work.
After that they came out 5 more times. Each time saying something different.
We thought it was our home warranty, but they kept sending the same company out
We’re seniors we can’t be in the heat. My husband had a stroke they could care less!!
Degrees in Bakersfield or anywhere from 108 to 116, These are record high heat that are not good for the elder or for animals. Or for anyone in that matter with health issues.
We had to keep leaving the house and sleeping at my sons house because they would not fix it correctly. Don’t use this company Austin Air & heating , do yourself a favor and call your warranty company and tell them not to send them to your home. Their
Horrible. I’ve called them several times and text them and they don’t call you back. They don’t even give you the correct time of when the Tech is going to arrive. When they do, they’re always late. Do not do business with them.!! They lie about everything. Their job is to get as much money as they can out of the warranty company By putting in false claims and not fixing your air unit. We finally got someone else from a different company to come out and fix, it. One time is all it took,
They are so crooked do not use them. They are not honest people..

This company works with my home owners warranty and they are a rip off.
Austin Heating & Air gave me a faulty compressor that worked for 2 yrs and instead of changing it out like their technician explained to be his diagnosis for curing our issue. Austin Heating & Air sent a claim to my home warranty company for the entire unit to be replaced. They stated, that they would not honor our newly purchased compressor they sold us that was faulty. Instead, they place the burden on the home owner by asking them to accept the cash out option that is worth less then what they have received from the home warranty company. As a home owner , I am disgusted with the dishonest service this company provides. My recommendation is to find out if this is whom your home warrant company works with. If it is, I would definitely consider changing warranty companies.

The negative reviews here are unjustified from what I have experienced! Both Taylor and Rashad were exceptional! Taylor who works in their office made every attempt to get me serviced right away, called me with updates and was great. Rashad (my technician) was very professional, very detailed oriented, arrived on-time and was able to troubleshoot my issue right away. Although my unit must be replaced, he gave me a temporary fix while he submits the order through the insurance company. He gave me a full explanation of what was going on with my A/C unit in terms I could understand and how the replacement process works. I also love that this company hired a military veteran, that was an added bonus. 5 Star Service!!!

My heating system was not working and I called my home owners insurance on Monday night and I was assigned to Austin Heating and Air inc. Next morning I received a call from the business office and scheduled appointment at the same time and day. Technician Freeman came out at 9:25 and fixed the problem in no time. It wasn’t a major issue only wires were loose and got fixed and problem was solved.

STAY AWAY - RIP OFF. Home warranty sent Austin Heating out for seasonal tine-up to include cleaning of coils. Technician arrived and upon arrival to driving off he was present for 21 minutes. Technician claimed coils were extremely dirty and he cleaned them.

Issue is there is no water hose at the house and technician did not take one to the AC unit. Technician had no ability to clean coils. After he left, I reviewed surveillance footage and physically inspected AC unit to determine state of coils.

I took attached photos and observed no indication of cleaning and visible dirt caked onto coils.

I called the office to inquire if it was
my responsibility to clean the coils. Office lady advised technician notes showed that he completed the cleaning. When I told that was not true she advised she would check back with Technician. No word back from business.

Appears business thrives on home warranty company work with no recourse or quality assurance of work completed. Appears to be fraudulent work practices to receive payment from Home Warranty is their claim to fame!!!!

Austin Heating and Air did work with my warranty company to replace a unit on the roof. That's where the service ends. There was a problem they could never figure out on the roof where the drain pan drip line was feeding into a leaking rooftop drain access. This was causing water to flood into our ceiling space in the house below. Austin refused to believe it could be coming from the rooftop HVAC setup and we went through weeks of back and forth until I had a plumber properly come out and fix what should have been done by the roofing company. Service was incredibly bad. Insanely so. I would give them a few points for at least getting the unit on my roof, but the service after the sale was so rudely handled that I couldn't recommend this company to anyone in the future. Best to avoid!

Same experience as the rest of the home warranty reviews. They came out, diagnosed my ac with a cracked evaporator coil. Rather than wanting to replace it they threw some sealant in and charged me $300 to top off refrigerant. They said if the sealant didn't work the $300 would be credited to future repairs. Of course it didn't work, so when called for follow up they told me the time frame had been too long and that any additional charges would be out of my pocket with no credit.

Fast forward to a second company coming out, they stated that the evaporator coil showed no signs of a crack and that in fact the condenser fan motor was bad. They replaced the condenser fan for free and I've had no trouble since.

Our technician, Steven, was on time, polite, explained what he was repairing and showed us the parts replaced, showed us how to use the new thermostat, and made sure we didn't have any other issues to address before leaving. This was our first experience with Austin Heating and Air through First American Home Warranty. We are pleased with the response and service provided.

Avoid Austin Heating and Air at All Costs!

We had an absolutely horrible experience with Austin Heating and Air, and I urge everyone to stay away from this company. Our home warranty sent them out to fix our AC, which broke down in the scorching Bakersfield heat, with temperatures soaring above 110 degrees.

The technician came, assessed the problem, and told us they needed to order a part. That was the last competent thing they did. They marked our service as complete without actually completing the repair. When we tried to follow up, they completely ignored our calls and left us stranded in the extreme heat.

This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. It’s clear they have no regard for their customers' well-being. Our family had to endure unbearable heat due to their negligence and lack of accountability.

I strongly advise anyone in need of heating or air conditioning services to look elsewhere. Don’t waste your time or risk your comfort with this unreliable and dishonest company. Austin Heating and Air does not deserve your business.

Awesome technician. He told what the problem was & what he needed to do to fix it. My house was nice & cool in less then 10min. I’ve had to have several technicians out to service my AC at least 5 times this yr alone & he was the ONLY one that gave it a good cleaning. Apparently none of the other technicians bothered to & that was the main problem. Everything was clogged up. Thank you for being honest & not just looking to make a quick buck.

It seems the home warranty reviews are pretty similar. This company came out through home warranty and it’s just been a nightmare given the temperature. We waited 4 days for the tech to come look at it. Every time it breaks, they come and “fix” our AC, it’s always a bandaid job that breaks again in a few months. The technician was barely able to get on the roof, didn’t really tell us much, and upon going out to look for him to ask questions he was sleeping in his vehicle. I’m pretty bummed and it’s still hot.

Been using Austin Heating & Air for many years now to service my two HVAC units .. once again for Spring cleaning their service tech (Steven) was right on time (within window of time given) and was so friendly… Thankful for great service & putting my mind at ease for using the units thus summer.

Technician said needed to order an L shape pipe because the freon had leaked out. Waited 2 days for a response from either Austin Heating and Air or my Home warranty service. The response I got from. Austin Heating was waiting on approval from my home warranty.Called my home warranty 5 days later and the receptionist told my home warranty claim was denied because Austin Heating and Air put in their report that my AC had an preexisting problem. MICHAEL, the Technician LIED. Not only did he lie to my home warranty service, TAYLOR, the receptionist Lied to me about my home warranty denying my claim. Michael put in his report that My AC had preexisting problem. That is not true. My AC had been working just fine until it wasn't. Buyer be ware.
