How embarrassing - the garage door guys must have knocked a switch that we didn't know about. AJ found the cause in fifteen minutes, replaced the filter, put everything back together and tried not to take payment. Will definitely use this company again when we have something more worthwhile for them.

Adam is always quick to respond to questions and requests, shows up quickly, and provides detailed information on HVAC issues. He is a handyman to hang on to as he gives lots of tips and tricks along with fixing any issues, I would definitely recommend using ABS for any heating and cooling needs!

Approximately, two years ago while in my attic I noticed that the ducting for my two bathroom exhaust fans had become loose from the roof deck and the roof jack.
Apparently that electrician I had hired to install the fans just used duct tape to hold the end of the ducting to the underside of roof deck.

It looks like he oversized the exhaust fans for the two bathrooms and they required 4” ducting and instead of getting a reducer for the smaller roof jack he used duct tape.

I was unable to find any HVAC Company that wanted to do this small job. I was told to get a Handyman to do the work. Having already had an Electrician do the work instead of a HVAC Company I wasn’t going to use a Handyman.
I contacted Trish with ABS Heating and Air Conditioning who advised that they could schedule my job as a fill in for an Installation Crew.

Rick from ABS arrived and was advised of the issue I had.

Rick crawled over the attic furnace and insulation to get to the exhaust fan ducting to ascertain what he needed for the job.

He then had to crawl over the insulation and furnace to go get parts.

Rick once again crawled over the furnace and insulation and spent time in the hot attic installing the parts.

After the installation Rick once again had to crawl over the insulation and furnace.

Rick never complained, he just did what was needed and got the job done.

As a retired Building Inspector I was able to see that Rick was doing the installation correctly.

Back to the present, my AC Unit stopped working during a weekend and I once again contacted Trish with ABS on a Monday and the Owner Bob Hall came out the next day and fixed the AC Unit by replacing a capacitor.

Bill also checked the refrigerant level and everything was working fine.

I also like the Bob posts his California State License Board license number on his website, vehicles and business card. Anyone doing business with a company that requires a license should check this site.

Excellent service. Came right out to bid my new furnace, and installed it exactly on the day they promised. Left the sight clean, very happy. Competitive price too!

As always, Adam did a great job. Our heat pump went out, and Adam came the same day. Unfortunately, it was the blower motor, and it took 5 days for the part to come in. But he came out the day the part came in and installed it. He gave a fair price, and the heat pump is working great. I continue to recommend him and will use him for all my HVAC needs.

I recommend this business whole-heartedly! I was very nervous about installing HVAC in my home due to the cost. We got several bids, noting various differences in components and methodology when talking to each installer. Because I told each vendor I had a budget, various items were adjusted to keep the cost down, but when I talked to Bob about the project, he taught me so much about how systems are designed in modern construction and why it was important to consider new ducts/registers and intakes even though I already had a working duct system, that I decided to use his company. He took the time to explain thoroughly the concepts of airflow design and the importance of insulated ducting. In the end, if I added all the extras to the other quotes, the cost would have been close to the same. The difference for me was the education and time taken in discussing options.

Installation was on time, professional, and of high quality. The two foremen were excellent. The lead for me was Francisco, who was just fantastic. Because I was an active participant, on site each day, there were a lot of tiny decisions to be made. We reviewed each together and made the best choice for the job and for me, whenever possible.

This was one of my best home improvement experiences with a contractor. Thank you, Bob and team!

Little overdue 5-star review. Highly satisfied with price, accuracy of job description and work done. Replaced a very old furnace and AC unit. Quote was over $8,000 less (almost half) than another quote I got from another known company for same furnace and lower ranked AC unit. Both units were Carrier branded.
This is the second time I used ABS H & AC services, and both times highly satisfied. The first time, the technician was Dennis, who no longer is with the company, and who troubleshot my furnace and extended its life for another 7 years with a repair of $600. This time it was Francisco, who really cared about a job well done and paid attention to details.

5 Stars for ABS Heating & AC. Working with Bob and Trisha at ABS was a wonderful experience. We needed a new HVAC system and they made it easy and simple and they really cared about making it right. The system went in without any issues. Their crew was very efficient and cleaned up after it was done. They spent time explaining how the system worked including the new thermostat. Highly recommend them for any HVAC work.

ABS is very knowledgeable of available heat pumps (in contrast to other companies we have talked to) and found the right product for us. They were able to recommend a unit that supported our AC needs while also accommodating our budget, preferred installation location and city noise ordinances. The Installation was timely and ABS personnel were very skilled and professional. I am a stickler for details, and ABS installation met my high standards. No sloppy workmanship! Office manager is knowledgeable, accurate and friendly. I highly recommend ABS.

I had a graduation party planned and realized my AC wasn’t working. I called ABS & they scheduled me the same day to come out to repair my AC. What a relief!! Bob is very knowledgeable and affordable. I will recommend ABS to all my friends & family 😊

I've been a customer of ABS for seven years. They have installed AC Units at several rental properties and our own house. I very much enjoy working with Bob & Trish as they do excellent work and are always very prompt when I call them for service or questions. I highly recommend them.

At 3:30am on 6/5/24, our air conditioner quit running. It was to be one of the hottest days we have had….98-degrees. I get very, very sick in any kind of heat and panicked. I went outside, it magically began running, but with a loud hissing sound. We have used ABS Heating & Cooling for decades, so I called and left a message on their recorder. I called and talked to Trish. I was so upset, because I figured I would have to buy a new a/c and have to wait days, weeks or months to get it. She had a technician at our home by 2:30pm. All it needed was a part replaced that runs the fan. I was SO relieved, but not surprised by their service. We would have no other company ever service our air conditioner or heat. ABS installed both our air conditioner and our heater. We HIGHLY recommend them!

I'd give 10 stars if possible. In the 25 years we've worked with contractors, Bob was the only HVAC professional who recommended adding an additional return air vent. Our furnace closet had just one, which he said was like breathing with just one nostril--but no one wants a big hole punched in the wall, right? I watched as Francisco and Julian triple-checked the measurements and made the cuts. They were so precise that we didn't have to paint around the new vent. And, OMG, what a difference! The system is so efficient that it takes a fraction of the time to heat or cool the house. Now our PG&E bill is lower.

I highly recommend Bob and the entire team. It's the best money we've spent in the years we've lived in this house.

Completely incompetent. Misdiagnosed unit multiple times. Unwilling to listen. Horrible customer service. Hostile. Don't waste your money as you will have to go elsewhere eventually.

Very good place, we had a HVAC die on us and they came in couple of days laters on time and even managed to work with the HOA to arrange to pickup the rooftop keys and did an excellent job, identified the issue quickly and replaced a broken part and things were up and running.
