I paid Pacific Coast Termite for a termite inspection during the inspection period when purchasing a house. The inspection was prompt (which was impressive during the early stages of COVID) and did correctly note the presence of termites. However, I asked explicitly when ordering the inspection to note damage that would need to be repaired (as a previous inspection mentioned sistering floor joists being necessary to remedy the termite damage). The inspection from Pacific Coast Termite did not mention anything regarding necessary repairs so I took that as a good sign and purchased the house.

When I had another company come out to fumigate and treat the house for termites, they recommended very significant work be done, including opening up a significant portion of stucco, replacing structural elements of the house - including joists, mudsill, and sill plate. This along with the damage discovered when opening up the stucco ended up costing tens of thousands of dollars. I don't fault Pacific Coast Termite for not finding the damage behind the stucco, but since the basement provided relatively easy access to the sill plate and mudsill (and both would disintegrate to the touch), I would have expected the inspection to include this, which would have likely influenced my purchasing decision.

I would recommend Pacific Coast Termite if you're looking to figure out if you have termites quickly, but would steer clear if you're looking for what kind of remedies are necessary for the termite damage.

Scott came out to do the free termite inspection. I received a report that was very confusing because the boxes checked were stating I had tenrmites. I messaged back to confirm if he was stating my house was positive and needed treatment. He did not respond. So, I called to have someone interpret the report. The lady could not, and said she would have to have Scott call me. After not hearing back, I sent second email. No response. It is disappointing how paid workers cause business owners to lose business.

When I was researching termite treaments - I had two options - tenting or spot treatment. Tenting will kill existing termites but it does not stop future infestation. Bora plus treatment that pacific coast does will stop future infestation with Bora plus.

Pacific Coast termite were able to come out and inspect the property and recommend a treatment plan. The price was a bit high for the amount of work but really, what you pay for is the 2year warranty on any termite infestation in the property. Welcome to living in the Bay Area. I’d use these folks again for termite treatment.

This was a great hire. We needed an attic cleaned of rodent droppings and reblown with new insulation. Not only they came through in our budget and met our time line they found five access points and sealed our attic. The insulation is treated with orange oil to prevent spiders and such as well.
Thanks again for an outstanding job well done. Makes me wonder why other companies do not offer to seal the attics?

Sometimes, free is really free!

When I saw what looked like sawdust on the trunk of my wife’s car, I was afraid that we had termites in our garage and we’d need to go through the hassle and expense of fumigation. But I saw great reviews about Pacific Coast Termite and their orange oil treatments so I thought I’d schedule a free inspection.

Our inspector, Steve Pike showed up on time, took one look at the damage to our garage door, and told me that we had carpenter ants. Yikes! I expected him to give me an estimate, but I couldn’t believe it when he said that the best solution was simply a can of over-the-counter ant spray!

Considering the cost of doing business these days, from the price of gas, materials, and labor, I was dumbfounded when he confirmed that there really would be no charge for his visit. The free inspection was really free, with no strings attached.

I highly recommend Pacific Coast Termite and will call them first if I ever need this type of service in the future.

I highly recommend Pacific Coast Termite company for termite inspection and treatment. Robert Perez did a thorough inspection of my house; and upon acceptance of the estimate an appointment was made. On the appointment day the treatment was fully completed in about 5-6hrs.
