Life Saver! I thought I was going to have to replace the entire heater, but Mr. Flanders saved the day and repaired it just in time for the Christmas holidays! I highly recommend his services.

Great service overall. George was on time, called 30min ahead, and arrived clean, courteous and ready to work. He assessed the problem quickly, replaced the parts, checked the system overall and then clearly explained everything.

The city just left after inspecting the job, and that concludes the install. Brett and his crew are professional and I would use them again. I had a complete HVAC system installed including running new ducts and cutting in some additional registers, some through in ceramic tile. They did a great job. I like working directly with the owner, Brett. It wasn't one of these deals where you sign the contract and never see the guy again. Brett was on site every day of the install. Also, Flanders is setup with the BayREN rebate program. The rabate was about 20%.of the total install which was a big help.

My service requirement was to repair a WhisperKool Wine unit, which is not an ordinary type of HVAC maintenance consideration. Nevertheless, Flanders was competent, a pleasure to work with, and they honored all the terms discussed on time, within budget, and with a successful outcome! It's been one week and our unit appears to be working as expected...don't hesitate if you need a good HVAC company.

Heater decided to take a day-off early morning on a cold winter day. Called Flanders. While I'd like to see a better response time to my initial call, Bret and team were great. Bret made it out, took no more than 5 minutes to determine problem. Didn't have the replacement controller but worked it out with another employee who had the part, came back after 5 and quickly put me back together. Very knowledgable, easy going, great work.

They are always very knowledgeable, helpful, and polite. 2 years ago they converted my house from just having a furnace to a full HVAC system. They added ducts and everything else involved with the process. Important to note they did not mislead me about the amount of dust to expect. They got the job done on rather short notice and did it well. It was a life saver because we had a new baby and the smoke from the area fires came just a few months later. Now they provide our service and we are very pleased. I chose them because of the NATE certification, I keep doing business with them because they are honest and do good work.

If you want a company who isn’t on their game, then this company is for you. From install to follow up city inspections (they scheduled it almost 10 months after the fact). During install, my furnace didn’t work properly, because the technician didn’t know how to make the AC unit and furnace work together off the same thermostat (huh?). I had to call the guy to come back to fix his own work.He didn’t even check it before he left! He then ran new thermostat wire (which he didn’t even need to) which looked like garbage just strung across my garage. What a joke. Don’t hire this company. Go for someone more reputable.

Flanders installed a Fujitsu ductless mini-split system in our home; they solved some installation challenges that other companies thought were impossible to overcome. They were priced very competitively too, I got 3-4 bids on this project and Flanders was the lowest but also the most responsive to questions, and when it came time to schedule the service, they were very quick to get the job done.
I've also used them for basic furnace tune-up (through Angie's List) and would recommend them for that too. Highly recommended. -
The extra mile and then some!
Bret (Flanders) took personal charge of all the issues that needed sorting when we replaced our complete HVAC system.
He and and his team stayed with it till every last detail was sorted.
The level of professional skill and customer care exceeded all our expectations.
Every little custom detail we added was attended to cheerfully and the follow through to completion was perfect.
And the system he recommended works absolutely perfectly.
Thank you Bret and team (especially Marg in the office!). -
After reading many Yelp and Google+ reviews and interviewing almost a dozen of HVAC contractors for installing a new furnace and air conditioner for my home, I came in contact with Bret from Flanders Heat & Air. Within a few minutes, I was impressed with his knowledge, professionalism, politeness, and genuine recommendations unlike other contractors who lacked something or the other.
In his first visit, he went into my attic and not only inspected everything very thoroughly, but also fixed a couple of ducts that were leaking. Within a few hours of his visit, he sent me a detailed quote. He quoted very reasonable price and spelled out every single detail of the job including exact model numbers of the equipment.
Bret happily made some additional changes to the quote on my request and we agreed to start the work. On the day of the installation, he arrived on time with his crew and made sure that his crew understood exactly what was promised to me. The installers were very professional, accommodating and curtsies at all times and completed the work on time. I didn't have to pay them a dime until the installation was fully complete to my satisfaction. Bret also looked at my water heater and replaced a pipe that was not up to the code at no cost to me. A few days after the installation, Bret scheduled an inspection with the City of San Jose and everything checked out and I was given a copy of the permit.
Working with Bret and his crew was a very pleasant experience and I wish I could give him more than five stars. I am extremely happy with Flanders Heat & Air and highly recommend anyone reading this review to give an opportunity to Flanders before you finalize your contractor. Believe me you will be happy that you did talk to Flanders. -
I got two carrier air filters/purifiers installed inline with my furnaces, which were in the attic. Bret was efficient in getting the estimate. Brian came for installation and performed the work effectively and made sure he left the area clean after the job. Margie was very helpful in co-ordination and made sure the work went smoothly.
I highly recommend them! -
100% recommend Bret and Flanders Heat & Air! Literally the worst thing that could happen during a heat wave: our A/C unit stopped working last night. We feared that we would have to wait weeks for someone to come and look at it, and if it wasn't for Flanders we likely would have. Despite having a packed schedule already, Brett fit us in super quickly and he had the part necessary to fix the unit. Now our home is cooling down and we're very thankful!! We also appreciate that he shared with us recommendations on how to run the unit so it can heat and cool our home most efficiently. Very knowledgeable, kind, and professional

I recommend Flanders Heat & Air Systems because they actually focus on what's best for the customer and are very skilled.
We had a heat pump installed to replace a gas furnace and air conditioning unit.
We first contacted Flanders Heat & Air. Brett Flanders came out and inspected our existing units as well as all the vents in the home. He made three observations:
1) The ac unit was adjacent our patio so we would probably want a very quiet unit.
2) The upstairs den was missing an air duct.
3) The ducts from the blower did not have a damper to distribute air to the upstairs and downstairs. As a result the upstairs would be hot when downstairs is cold.
Flanders was exactly right. It was impossible to cool the upstairs without having the downstairs uncomfortably cold; the upstairs was typically ten degrees warmer than the first floor. Also we were bothered by the noise from the ac unit when using the patio.
We got two other estimates for a heat pump. The other companies failed to point out the need for a quiet unit, a damper, or identify the missing duct. But we asked the other companies to address those concerns in their quotes. Flanders' quote was comparable to the other quotes.
We asked Flanders to do the work. He and his assistant installed the heat pump, blower, damper, controls, and new vent. I was impressed by how smooth the installation went; they knew what they were doing and did the work well.
We've had the heat pump for a couple of months and the system works really well. Thanks to the damper, the upstairs and downstairs temperatures can be set independently. We can even make the upstairs cooler than downstairs. For the first time, the upstairs is actually comfortable in the afternoon. The heat pump is so quiet that we barely notice it when enjoying the patio.
