Mother-In Law visiting, downstairs AC unit dies, early July in Livermore! Crisis right? Wrong, not while JE Moore Air Conditioning is around.

I posted one ask on Yelp and within minutes I was chatting with James who helped me diagnose the problem. We worked together to identify the specific part that failed and on 4th of July weekend, James went out of his way to find the right part and fix the unit.

We are enjoying cool air once again and the visit with my mother-in-law has been saved!

I will need to replace these AC units at some point and you can bet there is one person I will call to get it done!

AVOID AT ALL COST. They are incredibly unresponsive and never return calls. They are also slow and their front-office is filled with amateurs who know nothing about HVAC systems in general. Imagine this: A technician shows up to your place but can't speak English, so you can't convey your requirements. So you think you could call front-office and tell them directly but they are just useless sales people. WHAT ARE YOU EVEN SUPPOSED TO DO?
My home warranty assigned my issue to them. I had to deal with them for over 3 months before switching to some other HVAC provider, literally solved my issue in 2 days.

Universal Heating & Cooling was contracted by our home warranty company to assess an issue with our heater. When Juan (from their office) contacted me, they were willing to get a technician out right away and agreed on a Friday from 10am-12pm. Alex, the technician arrived a few minutes early, was polite and was ready with tools, a ladder and shoe covers. Alex ran some tests and found the ignitor was the issue. He was prepared to do the work on the spot, but realized he didn't have the right part on-hand and would need to order one. During this time, an estimate was submitted to our home warranty and the correct part was ordered. Juan (from their office) connected with me again and let me know the home warranty would not cover 100% of the cost and the difference would need to come out of pocket; this was specific to the cost of the part itself. Keep in mind this cost was in addition to the deductible that is due to the contractor for the initial visit/assessment. The technician, Alex was sent out again, part in-hand and was able to complete the work with no issues and got the heater working! A few days after the work was completed, to our surprise the replacement part was shipped to our house. Yes, the same part that we were initially told was not covered and paid for out of pocket. I contacted our home warranty and Universal Heating & Cooling to get clarification on the mix-up. Long story short Universal Heating & Cooling made things right and would highly recommend them! Alex was prompt and did the work right! Juan was easy to work with and was in constant communication which is proof they stand by their words with customer satisfaction! Excellent service. UHC came in and got right to work installing a new furnace. They were very professional and explained everything in detail. Only minor thing is they forgot to relight the water heater pilot light. My daughter found that out for us.🤣

I really had a good experience with Universal Heating and Cooling. My AC was down during the hottest time of the summer. I called them and they were able to come the same day. They diagnosed the problem and fix it within 1 hour. Wilson was very professional and friendly and explained me what the issue was. I really recommend them.

Wilson and Alex did a fantastic job at our house. They diagnosed carbon monoxide leak with our furnace, and worked to then replace both furnace and A/C (system was over 40 years old!). They took care to make sure everything was clean and installed perfectly. Thank you both!

We recently had our heating and air conditioning units replaced by Universal Heating & Cooling. They did a great job taking out the old units and replacing with the new. It was an all day job, and they worked very hard, were very thorough, and were very courteous. I would definitely do business with them again!

Don't waste your time with these people they will not call you back and you won't get a straight answer out of them. Even the one time they did call back after I've escalated it they told me that oh I'll be there tomorrow with the part and asked me if I can confirm tomorrow is good so call me back ill be here u til 7 pm then when I confirmed I had to leave a voice and I'm still waiting it's been days no one can get a hold of these people. Please don't waste your time in my opinion they're horrid.

Had a 3.5 ton condenser and evaporator replaced recently by Universal Hearing and Cooling. The attic was quite limited making installing a 21” evaporator coil impossible to do without cutting structural beams that I did not want to do. They worked with my home insurance to get an equivalent 3.5 ton system with a 17.5” evaporator coil authorized from a top brand. This made the install possible without damaging the house. I am very happy with the system they installed and quality of install and their professionalism. The new system works like a charm.

Unreliable, Uncommunicative, Left Us Without Heat for a Month

We were assigned this contractor through our home warranty company for a heating issue, and the experience has been beyond frustrating.

1. Ineffective Repair: The technician applied a temporary fix that failed after one night.
2. Broken Promises & Delays: We had to call at least 4 times to get them to send a diagnostic report to the warranty company. Each time they promised to send it "immediately," but it took two weeks for them to finally send it, delaying everything.
3. Rejected Claim & More Excuses: The warranty company rejected the claim based on their report. We then agreed to pay out of pocket and requested a quote and a copy of the diagnosis we already paid for.
4. Complete Radio Silence: Again, we called 4+ times. Each time we were told the quote and report would be sent "within an hour." It has now been A FULL MONTH without heat, and we still have not received a simple email with the quote or the paid-for report.

This company is impossible to communicate with, does not follow through on even the smallest promises, and their inaction has left my family without heating in the cold. They have taken our diagnostic fee and provided zero usable service. I would not trust them with any job.

My home warranty company assigned them to replace our HVAC system 4 months ago and they are unresponsive. Always get their amateur, home-made, out going message. Calls never returned. The home warranty company can't reach them either.
When I do hear from them they tell me that either they or the warranty company can't locate a replacement unit. Allow me to translate. "We can't find a cheap replacement for your HVAC." Complete BS.

From the beginning , setting up the estimate appointment was smooth and easy. While other companies didn’t even bother calling me back.

Wilson listened to what I wanted to accomplish and he made necessary suggestions that not only were the the best but also saved me money.

My job was very complex since I wanted to relocate an AC unit from one side of the house to the other. While other companies suggested a full replacement and some walked away. Wilson provided a very competitive bid that help the me make the decision.

They showed up on time to start the project and finished everything in one day. The three man crew were polite and professional at all times. The attention to detail and the final finish work is definitely top notch!
