We had a dishwasher leak that caused significant damage and mold in our kitchen. We called Altec and they were very responsive, professional, and did a great job! They were helpful with the insurance company questions and coordination - this was much appreciated during a stressful time. We were so impressed with how they handled the cleanup and remediation process that we hired them to renovate our kitchen, install flooring throughout and a few miscellaneous projects. We cannot believe what an amazing job they did – they completely transformed our kitchen and home! This is the best experience we have had with a contractor!
Shawn is very friendly, knowledgeable and a great communicator – he was patient and flexible through the entire process. He was very professional, thorough and went above and beyond! All the Altec employees were also professional, friendly and detail oriented. We had a great experience with Altec. They are very patient and professional with their customers. They worked on two bathrooms and laundry room plus the hallway by the bathroom due to water damages. The project took them over a month to do and the end result was amazing! As with any project we had issues come up but they were resolved. Shawn and Jeff are great! We would definitely recommend them due to their quality of work and the workers that come in are very professional. We are thankful for them.

We recently renovated two full bathrooms, fixed some issues in a half bathroom, some flooring issues throughout our house and updated all of our interior doors. The team is very hard working, went above and beyond, and all of the projects look great!
Shawn and his team updated us daily on project progress and their plans for the next day. They were always timely, flexible with our schedules and left our home cleaned up each day.

Had the misfortune of a garage fire that not only gutted the garage but had smoke damage throughout the entire home.
Luckily all was insured and covered but what many people do not know is that you do not have to use mediation/construction companies that are on the approved vendor list from your insurance company. The insured can use whomever they wish to mediate and then reconstruct the loss.
In our case we interviewed multiple companies after the loss (some on the approved list and some independents) and ultimately chose to go with a contractor that was not on the approved list from insurance and feel it worked out much better in our situation.
You've got to keep in mind that "approved" contractors from insurance carriers are companies that regularly work with the insurance companies so they will almost always be very conservative when their quotes are submitted to insurance for reconstruction as they don't want to ruffle any feathers or bite the hand that feeds them. This only short changes the homeowner/insured and the extent of the repairs that will be performed.
A quick single example in our case would be repainting the exterior of the home after the loss. Insurance only approved for the immediate exterior garage walls to be painted but it was obvious that additional exterior walls had smoke damage and with the "line of sight rule" other exterior walls would need to be painted as well or it would not look right. So Altec helped us make the case that the rest of the house needed to be painted to restore it to its previous condition and then insurance agreed and approved the whole house to be painted. I would have had a partially painted house if we had chosen a construction company off of their list, as an "approved vendor" would not have taken off the gloves to challenge the insurance company to do what was right.
Altec's team were always quick to respond and kept me in the loop every step of the way. And more importantly what they communicated always happened when they said it would happen, if not earlier. You do not see this with many contractors.
So if it's an insurance job or just home renovations you would like done I would highly suggest you at least interview/speak with the team at Altec and think you will have the same comfortable feeling i did when hiring them.
I know if in the future i have another need I won't even bother talking to anyone else, I'd rehire them instantly!

Over several years, my mom’s homeowners insurance company recommended ALTEC twice. The first instance was to provide high quality repairs to a storm damaged wall and, a few years later, to replace her kitchen due to water damage caused by an older dishwasher. Having gained her trust, she recently contracted with ALTEC to convert a half bath into a full bath by adding a shower.

Altec did all the flooring, interior painting, and remodel of my master bathroom when I moved in. Work was done professionally and on time. Crews cleaned up daily which was major plus for my wife. Recently, we had water damage from a broken supply line (NO fault of Altec). The mitigation team was quick and responded to clean up the mess from the water damage. They were very thorough. Construction crews restored everything in a timely manner.

I can’t speak highly enough of Shawn and his crew at Altec. My refrigerator water line broke and flooded most of my rental, destroying the hardwood floors and custom cabinets. Shawn’s crew began mitigation and worked with the insurance company on my behalf. Once that was completed they began repairs and remodeling the kitchen/floors. The quality of their work was exceptional. They were quick and kept me informed. I especially liked the cabinet maker who helped get the right cabinets for a rental. Overall, very happy. Will certainly use them for my next project.

I found Altec due to an insurance claim and that led to a full downstairs remodel for my mom. The team did a great job with my small insurance job, but they absolutely blew it out of the park with the remodel. They are genuinely wonderful human beings and their work is high quality. I could not be happier and am looking forward to more projects in the future.

I especially appreciated the way my mom's remodel was handled. She has early stage dementia, so I project managed and she weighed in on design and financial decisions. Every single member of the Altec team understood my challenges and treated her with the utmost respect. They also helped make suggestions about best practices for aging-in-place and adapted plans quickly when we ran into *many* weird issues in her 1980s house. Shawn was especially good at daily communication to let me know what was happening, what he needed from me, and what problems needed to be solved.

She is beaming with joy every day in her "new" home. As her children, we feel so much better knowing she's happy, safe, and able to stay independent even longer. Altec helped us make that happen and I will forever be thankful to the whole team.

We had a long-term slow leak in our master bathroom that extended into our master bedroom and required a total remodel of the bathroom. We had never worked with Altec before, but our plumber recommended them to us. So glad he did. I've dealt with several GCs and Altec was the first one that we were so happy to get connected with. They were super responsive and helpful as we had to pick a design and the materials. Shawn Dalton was awesome at keeping the project on time. These guys just got after it and got it done. They even had some guys working on it on Christmas Eve in order to keep the project completion on time. Everything turned out great and we couldn't be happier with the end product.

I hired MC the first time for a 4-plex re-siding job. We went from the worst building on the block to the best building within a couple of weeks. Even our neighbor behind us hired MC to re-side their building after they saw our building.
Then I hired MC for a 10 building apartment complex in Sacramento. We started at the end of October and were finished in March.
Gary's crew(s) is amazing. They have a great work ethic, always leave a clean worksite and are polite. Gary and Alax are onsite daily to over see the project and if I had any questions or issues they were attended to immediately.
I look forward to working with them again.

Remodeled my laundry room and two upstairs bathrooms. Fair price (substantially lower than two bids from other contractors) and they were able to start my job about a month before the other contractors were. Quality was excellent. I'm planning on remodeling my kitchen within the next few years and I'll definitely be using them again.

I contacted them regarding a water leak in my bedroom window, they worked with my schedule and got someone out quickly to inspect it. Gary was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, he quickly pinpointed the issue and then explained what was going on. He instructed my husband and I on exactly how to repair the issue ourselves if we wanted to save money, and also offered a quote for him to do it. Modern Construction Group, Inc., did an excellent job of installing new primed pine, finger-jointed fascia boards. They installed new drip edge flashing and reinstalled existing roof tiles back into place.They not only applied paintable, exterior grade caulking in all required areas but also cleaned up and hauled away all job related debris. Gary was very responsive and professional. We called him to evaluate a project at our house. He showed up and gave a good explanation of some of the issues we were having and even offered an easy remedy. I will definitely utilize Modern for my construction needs in the future.

Gary and his team came through and I am very pleased with the results. It all started with a detailed proposal that spelled out the work, leaving no doubt the big stuff was covered. On day one, a crew of four showed up on time to take care of the demo and install windows. After the rough in inspection, the team did a wonderful job installing the siding and trim pieces. Gary and I communicated throughout the project, for the work and to setup inspections. Coming from a retired project manager, I was pleased that it all came off like clock work and there were no surprises on this job (as often experienced by many others). I would definitely hire MCG again on a future project.

Can't say enough great things about Modern Construction Group. I only had them replace one window, but the professionalism they showed throughout the entire process was above and beyond. Gary was very responsive, always kept me in the loop and made this the best experience. The installer did a great job too and Gary even came later that day to check the work performed (again, just for one window).
