Constraction reviews in Sacramento, California

Service rep (Kenny) came out and in a simple way solved what originally looked like a complex - and expensive - problem. REALLY appreciated the support and great outcome.

We needed our pool resurfaced and had already started the job with another company. The other company had excuse after excuse as to why they couldn't come out to complete the job... Even after taking our money. We finally called Geremia and Jack answered our call. He was able to complete the job very quickly. He communicated with us every step of the way and got the job completed ahead of schedule! We are so pleased with the job that they did and will definitely call them again in the future!

Called Geremia to check pool heater. Tech came out and got it to work said it was a loose ground wire. Heater working when he left. Next day went to turn on heater not working. Called the office to talk to tech or have him call me because I had questions left a message no reply. Next day called again left detailed message no reply back. Received a bill for $250 for repairs called to question invoice no return call or reply from Geremia. Poor customer service.

They started my pool project in October 2022 and did not finish until August 2023. The contract gave an end date of Feb 2023.
During my project, the Geremia family sold their company to a Las Vegas based pool company. At the beginning of the project, it was difficult to get any word on why my project was taking so long. All I got was radio silence even when there was a leak in the main piping that was detected in March of 2023 Then one day in late July they contacted me to tell me they are going to finish my pool. They scheduled the concrete pour and realized they couldn't do it because there was still that leak from March in the main line. They fixed the leak and poured the concrete.
After finishing my pool, they disappeared without a trace. No one from the New staff would get back to me about fixing one of my pool lights that they installed that was malfunctioning and a gas line that they tapped into for my pool heater that squeaks when the heater is running. Again, radio silence. I finally got some one on the phone last week (end of March 2024)to explain the situation. They got back to me with an INVOICE for $250 to come and give me an estimate on fixing the light and checking the gas line. All of this should have been working correctly right from the get go.
I paid over $120k for the pool. Let's see what they do next.
I would recommend that if you decide to go with this company to make sure your contract gives you the final approval before the bulk of the payment.
I will update in a few months about any progress.
********Update April 7 2024*******
Geremia contacted me last week out of the blue and sent a service person over to check the lights and the gas line. They called today and came out to fix the lights and they are working so far. The person was quick and professional and even helped with the chlorinator that was clogged. He gets an A for doing this part of the job. They did not charge me for the service.
I will update at a later date( mainly ,when they call me and fix the gas line) with progress on the gas line
********Update June 8 2024***********
Geremia sent me a reply on my review here on Google and asked me to fill out a form for service request for my concrete issue and my gas meter issue, which I did on May 14th 2024. I mentioned the concrete that was poured around the pool started cracking and pitting one week after the install. They sent an email back saying that the request was recieved. It is now almost a month since I requested service and I still haven't heard back about the concrete.
The web page where Geremia asked me to make the request does not have the job ticket listed either. Almost like they cleared it out without addressing the issue. I am removing a star that seeing as how it took over 6 months to address that issue. Communication with this company has been hit and miss (mostly miss).
The gas meter issue was fixed by the utility company and not Geremia.
I will make one more update about whether they addressed the concrete issue. -
Kenny showed up early and did a very thorough job. I'd been having some issues with my Polaris and Sta Rite system, and everything got repaired, along with a filter cleaning. Some jobs are best left to professionals, and he was certainly that. Terrific.

Terrible company. If I could give a zero star review I would. Everyone there when you finally do get a hold of someone, they never call back! Takes 6 months and 3,000 calls before you get a call back and they promise the moon but never do anything. All they do is give the run around and never actually fix things that they are obligated to fix. Been waiting two years for them to fix my pool and they want me to pay for it to get fixed even though it’s their mistake. Now I’m having trouble with my equipment and they have yet to send someone out to look at it. Marc is the worst, have yet to get a call back. Dane came to look at pool but never followed up or got anyone out here. Dallas is full of it and thinks I should pay for their mistake. Avoid this company at all cost!
10 month UPDATE 3/19/25
Still nothing!!!! I had to get Pentair to come out and fix my equipment. Dallas as I was told is no longer with the company (surprise surprise) and all that happened is it restarted the process of tracking someone down to talk too. Got passed on to Enrique who like everyone else promise to fix the problem, but like everyone else all talk. Has gotten one person out here to confirm what they already knew with the photos provided and from all the other conversations I have had with multiple people on their team. But I guess they don’t document anything. So yes Geremia Pools I see your hard work you do to avoid fixing your mistake at install. Still waiting for that day to come. -
The service was easy to schedule online, and follow up communications were as well. Cameron arrived as scheduled (earlier than anticipated), diagnosed the issue, made the necessary repairs, and checked the system. All went well. Geremia has always been easy to work with and professional in all respects. They built our spa, waterfall and pond back in 2002 and have serviced the system ever since. We appreciate the company and have recommended Geremia to numerous friends.
They were just out again and diagnosed an autofill issue. Have not heard back about installation of new part, so review is incomplete. $350 for service call, but partial credit against return. -
Technician who came to repair pool was very thorough and explained everything so I understood the problem

Horrible company. I live in a HOA and they are 3-months behind schedule .. The pool and spa refinishing should have been completed July 31, 2025 .. They still have no completion date .. With the amount of money being spent, this is not acceptable! I wouldn't recommend this company ...

ADDENDUM (05-21-2024): Following my posting of the review found below, staff at Geremia have worked diligently to regain my trust by mitigating the problems I had been experiencing and dealing with me professionally and fairly. I am very pleased by this -- not "just" because I am once again receiving service commensurate to what I pay, but also because I dislike writing "bad" reviews. Kudos to Marc, Jake, and others for their follow-up. If this continues (which I suspect it will :-) ), then I will upgrade my review by summertime to a full five stars. --C.G.
ORIGINAL MESSAGE
For the better part of 18 years I had been a very pleased Geremia customer. My pool’s construction (in 2005) was close to flawless, and, since the early 20-teens (when I began contracting through their service and maintenance department), I had been generally well-supported (albeit with some not-to-be-unexpected “hiccups” during the first couple of COVID-19 pandemic years that we navigated through on a then-collegial basis).
During the past 18 months, however, the quality of their service has dropped phenomenally, e.g., MANY missed service visits; no replies to any of my voicemail or e-mail messages during the past 4 months; and multiple quotes for needed work that involve 300-500-percent markup on the price of parts (which to my mind is unethical — i.e., I believe in paying well for labor by an expert repair person, but I believe it is obscene for a company that pays $500-1000 for selected parts to charge the customer $2,000-3,000 … NOT including labor … for those same parts).
Lastly, I am trying to get them to replace a Frog system insert that one of their repair persons removed in 2022 (without my permission) during the fix of an unrelated leak (with no reply yet to my three most recent voicemail messages about this problem).
I’m preparing to leave Geremia and switch to a highly-rated alternative provider. I hope Geremia’s new owners (yes; the company was sold recently — probably a large contributor to all of these problems) addresses my complaints in a positive and constructive manner. If they do, then I will gladly write a follow-up post summarizing — accurately and fairly — the outcome. Whatever the ultimate outcome may be in this regard, however, I’m afraid I cannot in good conscience take any more chances at disappointment (and a perpetually green pool 😕) by remaining their customer.
I close by attaching a photo of my pool’s current condition following this week’s most recently-missed (every-Friday) visit. Good luck other Geremia customers! —Chris Gresens -
Do not use this company
Expensive and payment is due before work is completed - and only by check or cash
My spa never worked and they don’t honor the contract to have a functional product and charge for a “ service “ even though initial product never worked and they
Also slow and rarely come at assigned time
Still picking up pieces of plaster around the yard -
Gus is the name of the owner of this company and he literally told me to sue him because that’s his customer service
He didn’t have authorization to work on my pool. He didn’t have a contract. He sent out an inexperienced tech who didn’t communicate and then broke damage the pool system causing tens of thousands of dollars and damage and then after his company representative committed to paying for it because they are licensed and insured company after all he then refused so.
This is literally the worst you could ever possibly imagine hiring for this job run. Look at the other reviews. This is a fraudulent business affair.
After he realized that he had done all the damage he said all repair it just as long as you signed this form after I signed the form he took my money and said now I’m not gonna repair it and hung up -
Geremia built our pool in 2021. Just before warranty expired in 2024 we discovered a leak when a rust spot and small void developed on the plaster below water level on our Cabo step in the shallow end. After a month of repeated calls, we eventually got a service manager out to verify the leak; he sent out a tech to make a plaster patch repair a week later as a warranty repair. The patch was ugly on the Bella Blue plaster, but we were more concerned with the leak repair and rust spot. Here less than a year later, the rust spot has returned at the warranty repair location. After repeated calls to Geremia regarding the covered repair failure and promises of getting a return call from the service manager or owner “who are the only ones who can approve plaster repairs”… the company has ghosted me and won’t return my calls. I kept records of my call dates and messages, as well as pictures of the original failure and repair. Their C/S rep confirmed the only thing they had in file was that the warranty repair took multiple visits. The tech and supervisor involved both left the company. I do not recommend this company to build, repair or service your pool. They don’t seem to care.

I went into contract in 2023 with Geremia. At the time the owner Gus had recently acquired Geremia after owning Southbay Guinite. The transition was a epic task as to be expected merging 2 companies, but Gus gave me his personal number and answered whenever I did call. We did have a few hurdles but I am extremely happy with the finished product. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the current scheduler. I scheduled a service after given 2 dates to choose. I chose the date, I open my email to see that the date changed without warning. I called the scheduler and asked, why would you reach out and ask me if the date change was OK or even let me know, her response was I forgot. Mind you the new schedule was a date that I originally told her did not work fir me. The reason I'm posting this is I called the scheduler in December to get a date, her response is I'll call you by Jan 3, as we will be out of the office. I didn't get the call, on January 7, I called...again she forgot, maybe scheduling is not for you. I dint want you to lose your job, but maybe your skills can be better used elsewhere within the company.

Terrible. A year later and not a peep from Geremia! No follow up, no check-in, no call backs. Now that we're out of our warranty period, we are just screwed with the wrong plaster and tiles coming off. IT'S ONLY BEEN A YEAR! Dallas was nice, to your face but has zero intention of getting the job done and/or following through. Last message sent on July 1, 2024, pool completed April 2024. Said he'd get us on schedule for the following week. Ghosted....Don't do it! Hire ANY other pool company!!! Pics are from July 2024. Worse today. Tons missing and falling off, as I type!
February 23, 2026-Update
Valve broken. Sent someone out after I called fourteen times. Tech came out 2/2, said that we needed a new valve and it would take 5-7 business days. No call, no show to date (15 days later). Have sent a message everyday with zero response.
