Alex came by to check on some dead outlets and install a power point on my kitchen island. He is very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He was prompt, efficient, and knew exactly what to do to troubleshoot.

Jesus was prompt, courteous & knowledgeable on replacing lights fixtures w recessed lighting on a dimmer switch. Made good suggestions & was efficient w his time installing new lights. I really appreciated Jake’s integrity. I’m new back to SanDiego and was given several names of electrical companies to work with. I was super happy as they were able to come out next day for the heat not working in my house. He was able to troubleshoot the system and confirm a few of my concerns.

I had never lived in this home. I bought 14 years ago so didn’t understand how certain aspects of the HVAC and electrical system worked. He was very knowledgeable. He is a very strong communicator and was not “man explaining” nor condescending in any fashion. I really appreciated him being respectful and kind. I got good information and will wait for quotes to make additional changes to my existing and rather elderly heating system.

I was concerned about being a new customer so close to the holidays. I had electrical work done a few months ago by another company and was not pleased with that company’s work. I had an unexpected electrical issue come up and I was very stressed that I might have to live with the situation for weeks and I felt vulnerable that I didn’t have a “go-to” electrician yet in San Diego.

I ran some searches and researched the top results. I reached out to ZED and received a prompt callback from Tara, who was knowledgeable and professional. She was able to schedule a service visit within 48 hours of my initial contact.

James communicated when he would arrive, was right on time, diagnosed the issue thoroughly, fixed it, left my place as it was before the visit. James explained the problem, shared the questions he needed to research, updated me regularly, explained the solution he implemented, and gave me tips about how to best use and care for the system.

The care and professionalism given to me by Tara and James calmed my stress and gave me confidence that I was in good hands. Whew! The relief was REAL.

The price was very reasonable and the service at every level was top notch. I heartily recommend ZED.

Exceptional Customer Service by highly qualified professionals that's my recent experience with ZED Electric. I was originally scheduled for a 12-2 appoinment window on Friday. However, a same day appointment became available and I was contacted scheduled immediately. Arthur, from ZED Electric was just superb. Got my outlet installed in one hour. I can now schedule my washer and dryer unit delivery for tomorrow. Great work ZED! DEFINITELY 5 STARS.

Arthur did a great job installing a new outlet in my place. Running the conduit through the walls wasn’t possible, so he recommended using a surface raceway to minimize wall damage. He explained the scope of work, was flexible with a few changes I requested, and completed the job cleanly and professionally. I’m very happy with the result and would definitely recommend him.

I had a dishwasher installation scheduled for Tuesday, and on Black Friday Costco notified me that the dishwasher had to be plugged into a dedicated GFCI outlet. Not exactly the news you want to get during a holiday weekend.

Zed Electric made the whole situation incredibly easy. Their scheduling was smooth, and Kevin 206 — the technician who came out — was outstanding. He was efficient, a great communicator, and clearly knew exactly what needed to be done.

The work was done quickly and professionally, and the entire experience showed me how great this company is. Zed Electric is very easy to do business with, and I’m really glad I found them. Highly recommended!

Text message from ZED said to leave Jake their electrician a review but come to find out it’s for ZED and not Jake. Jake was great! Very professional and did an amazing clean job on the install. Jake gets 5 stars!

However, ZED gets 3-4 stars and I’ll tell you why. In August of 2024, we had ZED replace the exact same barn style led exterior security light for a total of $520. They had to order the light from a distributor they used at the time but do not use anymore but that light is unbelievably bright and the area coverage of light is crazy! I was super impressed with it as the HOA President of our complex so much that I had our property manager call them back out to replace another light that was going out. This second time we were quoted $740 and I was in shock as that was a $220 increase from the year prior and called to ask why? They said they raised their labor rate to $260 an hour and that they didn't use that distributor of the previous light anymore but they could source a similar one. The one they sourced this second time was from home depot and cost $102 rounded up plus tax. Then come to find out, we had some additional issues regarding dry rot on the wood paneling of our building where a junction box was connected to that needed to be replaced and instead of charging us $260 per hour they only charged us $65 per 15 mins at 45 mins for an additional $195 for the labor of replacing the junction box. I was able to get us a 10% discount off the initial quote of $740 to $666 plus the additional $195 for a total of $861. So when it comes to the question below in this review that says, “How would you describe the price you paid!” I put “Unsure” but in actuality, I feel it was over priced as $260 per hour for a labor rate is insane and especially compared to what we paid last year for the same type of light that was sourced from home depot this second time. Over all, Jake was amazing and ZED is a great company but their labor rate now is insane in my opinion. How can you justify $520 one year to $740 the next year for the same type of light replacement. That’s a 40% increase!

Linda was great at explaining what needed to be done without actually being here. She got my system up and running again and she called the next day to make sure everything was good. Outstanding service.

I appreciate the promptness of Roland, giving me time to do other things with my day. Roland was very courteous and knowledgeable. I would be happy to recommend Semper Solaris to anyone I know.

We paid over 50k for a roof and panels from S.S. in 2022. When the sales people come to meet with you at your house, it's all unicorns and rainbows; S.S. services everything in house, everything is covered under warranty, blah, blah, blah. Every time something has gone wrong with the roof or panels, we get the runaround on repairs. Currently, the Enphase panel isn't connecting to tot he internet, so we have no idea if our panels are working. We followed all directions to try to reset it, and nothing worked. When I called to speak to someone about getting it fixed, the phone connected to a line with a busy signal multiple times. You know what line I could reach someone at?? SALES! Once I was finally connected to a customer service rep, she asked a bunch of questions, and offered me a virtual appointment with a service tech. VIRTUAL. And this virtual appointment won't be available for a week, and the latest time available is NOON! Oh, and if I want someone to come out in person, if whatever is wrong is not covered, it'll cost me 295$. Excuse me?!I paid over 50k for this roof and system to NOT be nickeled a dimed when your products fail. Oh, and because I want someone to come out, I have to wait up to a week for someone to even contact me to make an appointment.

Linda was great. She was very knowledgeable and patient and even followed up to make Sure, I understood the outcome. I really appreciate her help and I am now confident in the solution.

Once I was finally able to get to the right person, m experience was great! Angie is very knowledgeable and helpful. We walked through the whole process to get my system communicating again and she provided me with a number to text to if I had any further issues. She was amazing!!!

Highly recommend Semper Solaris! They installed a new heat pump (heat/AC) & entire HVAC system, replaced our roof, and will be installing solar panels and gutters shortly. Such a professionally run company, from the salesperson to the customer service staff to the installation teams. Service and materials are top notch! The process was super well organized from beginning to end - great communication and follow-through, and they did exactly what they said they would do. The charges ended up being exactly what the contract said, except for a couple minor unforeseeable additions discovered after the work started. The installers were all courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and great at what they do. All crews cleaned up at the end of every working day. Even our next-door neighbor says he wishes all companies were this professional. This company goes above and beyond to offer quality products and excellent customer service. Bonus - they offer solar panels that are made in the USA!

UPDATE: Solar panels have now been installed, and everything went smoothly. Same great service as from Semper Solaris's other departments. They got the system turned on quickly and even expedited the inspection. Very happy!

I had a second solar system adding to the capacity of the original one. At the same time I had a hvac install. The employees are very professional and helpful, keeping me upto date on the whole process

Linda was very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the best settings to use with our Tesla Powerwall. She studied our system and usage patterns to determine the best course of action and encouraged a follow up meeting in one week to make sure everything is operating as anticipated for the best result. I really appreciate that level of service!

The installers are well versed in there job duties, communicating very well with each other and myself. I trust the job done. This is the second job Semper Solaris has done for me. We had a solar panel system installed this year 2nd of January 2025. The process started early in the morning and was completed the same day. I received  an email from SDG&E on 9th January that I'm Authorization to Operate in Parallel with SDG&E's Electric Distribution System. Just waiting for SGD&E to hook up my meter.
Genevieve did a great wonderfull job explained the products and the process to me. Very knowledgeable and could explain the technicals to me in a way I could understand. I asked so many questions that it us 2 1/2 hours and she answer every single question.
Also shout out to Junior lead installers,  they were punctual, clean, profession, courteous and answered all my questions in the way i can understand.
