Drew came and diagnosed my washing machine leak. He was timely, honest and extremely helpful in recommending next steps.
Avoid!! Just had 2nd bad experience with them. We had them come look at the ice maker on our refrigerator several years ago. The tech patronized us and explained that the ice maker had to be turned on to make ice....he literally said "You see this little bar here? It has to be pushed down to make ice. See? Up...down." As if we were two years old! He didn't even investigate the problem, let alone fix anything. My husband later found the problem and fixed it himself; it has made ice just fine for years now no thanks to them! Since that was several years ago, I decided to give them a second chance and called them to investigate water leaking under the freezer. When I called to schedule the appointment, I told the woman I needed a morning appointment. She said she put me down for Thursday morning I would receive a text the day before with a two hour window. Great! I got the text and it said they would be here in the afternoon. I called saying I was supposed to have a morning appointment and the other woman said they NEVER promise morning or afternoon and I was stuck with an afternoon appointment because of the "route I was on'. Sorry, I thought I was scheduling a repair service, not mail delivery. She made it sound like I was crazy and I was definitely the one who misunderstood! So much for an improvement in customer service! I just cancelled the appointment entirely and will never call them again!
First time and last time customer. Nothing about our experience went well. We were referred to Columbine by Whirlpool. We selected a morning appointment window (8am-12p) for a Saturday morning. The day before we received a confirmation for an afternoon appointment (330p-530p). This was a little inconvenient as we’d scheduled our day anticipating a morning appointment but our dryer needed to be fixed so we rearranged things. The tech arrived and to his credit was very polite for the 15 minutes he was in our home. We described the issue with the dryer (it would power on but the drum wouldn’t spin/no heat) and he went in to take a look. A few minutes later he emerged from our laundry room with the verdict – “you need a new motor.” He explained that the motor wasn’t returning any feedback to the control board and was blown. He quoted us a repair cost of nearly $800 and commented that for that amount it might be worth just looking into a new dryer. He said he would email over this quote and that it would be good for the next thirty days if we decided to go ahead with the repair. We never received an email. At that point we paid his $136.68 fee and he was on his way. We never received an invoice for this either. He didn’t remove a single screw, test anything or take any steps to confirm his diagnosis. The dryer was never unplugged. We don’t recall him even bringing in a tool bag. Later that evening we were looking at new units and something just didn’t sit right with me. I decided to look into the dryer repair myself. I figured that worst case scenario we’d be buying a new dryer anyway. I watched a number of videos from whirlpool, professional repair techs and amateur handyman types. I learned about the thermal fuse and how it prevents fires by tripping under excessive dryer temps. A blown thermal fuse will prevent the dryer from heating as well as stopping the drum from spinning. I took the dryer apart and tested the fuse with a multimeter and sure enough it was blown. I also tested the heating element and it was burned out as well. I replaced the parts, put everything back together and it fired right up. I replaced three parts totaling about $125. We’re disappointed that we paid you to come stand in our laundry room for five minutes on a Saturday afternoon and tell us to go buy a new dryer. Everyone we tell this story to is stunned. Do better.
We had some issues lighting a fireplace that was installed. It was technically out of warranty but this was the second time we'd had a service call on it and after speaking to Steve he sent the technician back at no charge. The technician found an issue with the ignitor and a new one was ordered. The new one was installed, again at no charge. You can't always keep things from going wrong but how you handle it when they do is the real sign of a business that cares about it's customers
The technician Andrew came prepared with the part needed to repair my oven and had it working in less than an hour. He was professional and courteous.
Thanks Andrew! Very quick with fixing our JennAir that was under warranty. Responsive service. Customer service helped us reschedule when we needed to. Thanks!
