We had Hartman’s Appliance Repair Service come out to look at our washer that suddenly stopped working. The technician Brian arrived promptly, was very friendly, and seemed knowledgeable. I appreciated how quickly he was able to assess the issue.
That said, I was a bit frustrated with the pricing policy. I was told upfront there would be a $20 service fee and an additional $120 diagnostic fee if I chose not to move forward with the repair. I understand and respect transparency, and I wouldn’t mind the charge if the diagnosis required significant effort or time. However, in this case, the tech simply spun the drum and immediately determined the problem, something that took all of 2 minutes. He quoted nearly $500 for the repair, so we had to make the decision that it doesn’t make sense to move forward with the repair when new washers don’t cost much more than that. The technician agreed.
So now I’m out $140 and still need to purchase a new washer. While I don’t fault the technician personally, he was great, however; I do feel the $120 fee felt excessive given how minimal the actual diagnostic work was. I would have appreciated a bit more flexibility or consideration in cases like this.
I think the experience could’ve been much more positive if there was a little flexibility with the diagnostic fee, especially since the issue was identified quickly with very little effort from the technician. Even a partial refund or a credit toward future service would go a long way in showing that the company values its customers and understands that no one wants to feel like they wasted money. That kind of gesture would not only improve customer satisfaction but also build trust and loyalty for the long term.

Hartman's is our go-to for keeping our appliances in great shape! Earlier this year, their honest and easy consulting on issues with our dishwasher helped us get an additional 6 months of use out of it before needing to replace it.

This week, when we experienced sporadic refrigerator leaking, Sev came out quickly, saw our clogged drain line, cleaned it and removed the backed up ice, all within the service fee. We trust them to not try to upsell us on unnecessary repairs or replacements, which is so, so appreciated! They've got us as customers for life because we know we can trust them to give us good, straightforward advice and excellent service.

I booked Hartman Appliance Repair to come and provide a solution for fixing my washing machine. They charged me $20 to book the visit, which was completely fine, and informed me it would be $120 to run a diagnostic. They also explained that if I chose to use them for the repair, the $120 would go toward the repair cost.

My service technician showed up, spent less than five minutes, briefly looked at my washer, did one thing, and then said, “You need to go shopping. It needs a new part, but we can’t get it. Good luck.” He then left — and still tried to charged my card the $120. My card had a fraud hold from my trip that I just got back from and flagged the $120 charge. I called the office and voiced my displeasure and they said they would only charge me $95. I told them I would call back once I spoke to my bank to let them know the hold had been lifted. Called my bank and they told me they would lift the hold. It was after hours so when I decided to look the next morning. They ran my card without a call.

I understand they are a business, but showing up for less than five minutes just to tell me “good luck” and go buy a new machine felt like bad business. It came across as a quick way to make $115 from a customer with zero help. Feels like a scam, and I would never recommend them.

My dryer motor was burned out and the belt as well..... Brian figured it out immediately. Also he the replacement part and installed a new one. 5 Stars to your company. Would recommend this company for sure!! Thanks Again. S Jackson.

This is my second time using Hartman with issues with two separate appliances. Both my interactions with the Hartman team have exceeded my expectations.

I've spoken to Patty, Cristy and Christine on the phone and they've been super professional and friendly putting all my concerns at ease.

Brian is a super tech on both of the repair jobs. Each time Brian has been professional, efficient at diagnosing, and super knowledgeable. Brian will not steer you wrong and he's honest. His attention to detail like setting the microwave clock after the repair shows he cares about what he does.

Dryer mother board was burnt out with an F1 error code. While the part itself took a bit getting in, Hartmans Appliance Repair was extremely flexible with working with our schedule. Julio was able to diagnose the problem and fix our drier within 40 minutes of labor total between the two visits.
Saved us from getting a new appliance for hopefully a few more years (with the tariffs this is a huge relief for my partner and I)

Had main control panel replaced. Our serviceman was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. He actually reset the old panel so we could use the washer until new panel came in. He even found an ungrounded extension cord and advised us not to use it.

We used Hartman back in 2019 for our washer. Our dryer died (2025) on Tuesday of the week of Thanksgiving. We called and they were here Wednesday morning. The repairman was kind to our antiquated equipment, and managed to find the part needed and repaired it the same day! If you don’t use these guys for appliance repair, you’re wrong.

This is our third appliance repair with Hartman’s. They are always so quick to respond, knowledgeable and friendly! Today Brian was quick to diagnose and repair our dryer. We appreciate his professionalism and communication from first call to repair completion! I also love that the service call fee goes towards the repairs! I highly recommend their services! I was having water leaking from my ice maker and purchased a new one needed someone to install it because I'm older and can't see that well anymore yesterday they scheduled an appointment Brian came out this afternoon and changed it out. Brian was really a good guy and I would not hesitate to call him again if I have any other issues. Hartman appliance repair is a top-tier company use them with confidence

Very pleased with the professionalism and communication of this company. Brian showed up today and worked on my washer until all the issues were resolved and was very pleasant to work with. Both him and the woman I spoke to over the phone were very up front with the cost structure for someone coming out and when they could arrive early, they communicated accordingly and let me know of the sudden change in availability. I would recommend them to any of my friends/family in the area for appliance repairs!

Our refrigerator recently stopped working and we weren't sure why. We had used Hartman's before and had good results, so we called them. They had Brian out later that day to diagnose the problem. They charged $20 for him driving out and then $160 (I think) to diagnose the problem. I wasn't thrilled about the $20 on top of the diagnostic fee, but what can you do.

Our problem ended up being some circuit board that cost half an arm and leg but at least it wasn't the compressor, which I was told in advance they wouldn't work on and it costs more to replace than to buy a new unit. Brian replaced the board and realized that the fan was also not working properly. He ended up running out and buying the fan and bringing it right back, saving us having to wait another day to be through with this.

Brian was awesome. He was professional and friendly and seemed to know his stuff. And the fact that he came early the day the part came in and came back with the fan that same morning, tells me the dude cares. I'll definitely use them again.

I want to commend Hartman's Appliance repair for their resolving a problem with our refrigerator. They delivered prompt service at a very reasonable price. Jerry was our technician and he could not have been more personable. He was very kind and easy to interact with. It was a very positive experience and we will definitely be calling Hartman's for any future appliance needs.

We had a failing refrigerator. We called and got an appointment within 48 hours. They told us exactly what the costs would be for the visit and diagnostic - no surprises. They also explained ahead of time they could not repair frig compressors. They showed up on time, diagnosed the problem but couldn't fix it due to it being a compressor issue. They walked us through all of the checks to show the failure. They even told us what part to buy to repair our dishwasher. Very professional. Knew what they were doing.

You can never go wrong with Hartman's Appliance Repair, I have used their services twice. Their customer service is great and Brian the technician is friendly, courteous and professional. Hartman's rates are reasonable as well.
