⭐⭐ Disappointing and misleading experience

I had a very disappointing experience with The Leak Doctor Inc. I was charged $79 only to be told that a leak of 23 gallons of water per hour was “not a problem” and that I could leave it as-is until it became worse. That advice was not only irresponsible, but also incorrect.

On top of that, they attempted to charge me commercial pricing for what is clearly a residential property, which felt like an attempt to take advantage of the situation rather than help resolve it.

What makes this even more frustrating is that another company later came out, found the leak without any issues, and did so without trying to upsell or overcharge. That alone says a lot.

For the record: seeing a Hispanic woman alone does not make me weak, uninformed, or easy to take advantage of. Unfortunately, that is exactly how this interaction felt.

I would not recommend this company based on my experience.

Josue arrived on time and was delightful to work with. He showed me everything he was doing - however I was not aware they do not fix the leak with your irrigation system- but they did find the leak.

On 06/11/25, Leak Doctor came to my property but could not diagnose where my leak was coming from, even though the tub’s hot water valve wouldn’t close that same day (I had to close it myself with a wrench while the technician was there). Despite not identifying the problem, they still charged me for a “diagnostic.”
They promised to return the next day to confirm whether the valve was the issue. On day two, the technician instead claimed the problem was “grout failure,” even though their own moisture meter showed no moisture in the wall where they said the grout had failed. I told the tech that the readings didn’t match his claim, but he insisted.

Suspecting a misdiagnosis, I called another leak detection company. They quickly confirmed the leak was exactly what I suspected from day one - the hot water valve had busted open (while Leak Doctor’s first tech was here). The day-two tech simply didn’t want to reopen the faucet to check in case it wouldn’t close again, the same issue I had to fix myself on day one.

When I called Ms. Hunter for a refund, she refused, saying because I “fixed it,” they couldn’t diagnose it. This is false, all they had to do was open the valve to check, but they chose not to. I even had the grout professionally tested, and it was NOT grout failure. Ms. Hunter justified keeping my money by saying they “don’t 100% guarantee” their services, and offered to send yet another tech for a “third look,” which would mean me losing yet another full day of work.

As of 08/09/25, I am still disputing this charge. The images clearly show the water damage directly beneath the tub’s hot water valve, exactly where the leak was. This company had the tools, the access, and the opportunity to get it right, but instead gave me a false diagnosis and refused to take accountability.

Per your response: I never said under my shower and as I said the first technician could close the tub faucet he needed me to do it because he couldn’t do it. The first technician didn’t give any diagnosis and said I still had to pay and that he would try again the next day. I questioned the second technician saying grout failure because the wall he claimed to have grout failure has sheetrock on the other side with no moisture whatsoever. The second technician gave a false diagnosis. I had another company come out and they confirmed it was not grout failure it was the tub faucet pipe bolt being faulty. You are trying to justify an inaccurate diagnosis.

Why would I have a 4th day of missing work for a company who lied to me from the beginning and continues to try and justify lying to me….?

Amazing how fast found the leak. I replaced both toilet tanks innards and found out it was my rainsoft water system that is draining out 140 gals a day every hr 5 gallons then stopped the again and restarts every 2 hours. Will get them to fix it on mondag.

The tech, David, did a great job. Was on time and called me when he was on the way. Found my leak very quickly and explained everything that he needed to do and why. Would for sure use Leak Doctor again.

I experienced water damage on my wood flooring in just the master bedroom therefore immediately thought the worse. The Leak Doctor’s sent VERY knowledgeable and professional representatives who took the time to double and triple check any and every possibility. I DEFINITELY WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS WITH POSSIBLE LEAKS!!!!! Thank you Leak Doctor’s!!!!!!!

I’m very happy with the service that I received from David with Leak Doctor. He was on time, professional, and explained what was going on in easy to understand language. It’s clear he’s an expert in his field. Highly recommend.

I called in the morning suspecting a leak. They were here by noon and thoughly went through the whole house until they confidently pinpointed where the leak was. Dre and George were both very personable and professional. They made us feel at ease that it was a small leak and they went over what our options and next steps should be. Would 100% use them again.

David could not have been more professional, knowledgeable and skilled. His experience and intuition in leak detecting was obvious.

I am so impressed with Josh and his knowledge of how to find a leak and doing everything he can with the equipment that he has to find this leak. We had a leak in the wall and he found it and it was actually behind the pipe and a very tiny leak coming from upstairs pipe but it was leaking in the downstairs unit so impressed. Our water (reuse/irrigation) bill kept getting higher till I knew we had a problem. I called out the Clermont Utility co and it was 'confirmed' there was a leak. The individual suggested to go online to the BBB for a suggested company, I did and the Leak Dr. was rated A+ so they're the ones I called. David and a colleague came out the same day, discovered there was not a leak but figured out someone had put in a "B" program on my RainBird, programmed for everyday! It was immediately deleted as well as some times changed on "A." David was wonderful in sharing with me what to do in the future, what to look out for etc. I was also extremely grateful to Hunter, the receptionist, who took my call originally.

I had a leak somewhere in the front yard so a friend recommended the Leak Doctors. Dre was sent out and asked me a few questions then explained my options along with pricing. After agreeing on the job to be done he began searching with his leak detection device and located the problem within a few minutes. He was very respectful of the yard when digging and along with George they got the broken pipe repaired within a couple hours. Thank you for sending these two professionals! I'm very happy with their work!

Josue came in and did his thing! Explained everything in great digestible detail was able to detect the leak within my wall in less than 20 minutes. Highly recommended! Definitely saved me time and money by determining the leak was inside the wall and not from under my concrete slab!

Very disappointed in the accuracy of this company. I had a slab leak which was originally located in a different area, after having a plumber out to take out some tile and break through the foundation, it was determined that the leak was not there. Had Leak Doctor come back out and the leak was located in a different room. Had the plumber back out and the leak was found about 2-3 feet from where they marked it. I understand slab leaks are tricky but would have loved to only have one hole in my foundation instead of two and could have saved $900 on the first plumber visit.

Leak Doctor detected under slab leaks in my master bathroom. Josue detected the leaks quickly and made sure he was thorough and confident about it before he gave me an official diagnosis. A very knowledgeable, punctual, solid professional and straight up guy which I appreciate. I would absolutely call him again for leak detection.

David was great. He arrived on time. He explained in detail what to expect, even the worst case scenarios. Luckily it was only an outdoor repair. We would highly recommend The Leak Doctor & David!

David came out to perform leak detection at my home, and I couldn’t be more impressed with his professionalism and expertise. He quickly located the plumbing leak in my yard and took the time to explain everything he was doing along the way. He even showed me where my shut-off valve was and walked me through the different ways a plumber might approach the repair, which really helped me understand my options.

I’m truly grateful for his knowledge, clear communication, and the care he put into making sure I felt informed. If you need leak detection done right, David is the person to call!
