Plumbing reviews in Tallahassee, Florida

When it comes to electricity and water, I'll hand it off to the professionals, and these guys were great. Our water heater went down on Saturday, by Tuesday we were up and running again! They gave us great advice to help save time and money and called multiple times to make sure we were in the loop of what to expect and when it might take place. Just based on their quick response and customer service I give them a full rating, the quality of installation was great as well.

By far worst customer experience I've had in a while. Something is terribly wrong with their scheduling and lack of communication.I'm sorry to have to do this cause Jim was so friendly, however he came to my house over 3 weeks ago for measurements, he was very nice and excited to get the tiling project started up and said he would have the quote ready for us in a couple of days... I give him a week and a half before calling in and getting his receptionist. I left him a message to call me back and I was told he would call in the morning. That call never came. I called twice more throughout the next week and half with the same exact results. No call back. By far worst business to call if you have any sort of time line.

I can’t speak personally for Jim Bennett Plumbing’s work, but the people you hire can make or break your business. My car broke down at a gas station and a man named John wearing a Jim Bennet Plumbing work shirt respectfully, to both myself and my service dog in the backseat, approached my vehicle. He jumped my battery and while we waited, through exchanging pleasantries I came to find out that he too was having a rough morning with vehicle trouble, resulting in him walking in this heat. Still he helped out a stranger with their car trouble...again in the heat. John represented this company with generosity and honor. Thank you again, John.

We purchased a new home recently, and there was a problem with the toilet in the master bath. Mr. Bennett and his staff were prompt to in responding to our immediate needs. It took a number of hours to determine that the problem was a rag that had fallen down in the pipe during construction. Mr. Bennett himself came and worked with his staff until the issue was resolved. It is rare when you have the owner arrive and assure you that he will be there, no matter how long it takes, until the problem is corrected. In the future when we need a plumber Jim Bennett's Plumbing, Inc. is who we will call. 10 STARS to them. AMAZING, EFFICIENT, and COURTESY Staff.

Jim and his team went above and beyond to do a complete bathroom remodel with a walk in tub,he gave more than was expected and was hands on himself with the project. If you need a walk in tub or any plumbing assistance call this man and nobody else you won't be sorry. We are very thankful for him and his team for what they've done for us and highly recommend them. Jim can fix that!!!! Thanks again and God bless 🙏. Keith and Sheila Wynn

Alex did a wonderful job fixing a leaking pipe from the showerhead that was discovered within the wall of my home. He was very thorough and professional, and explained everything that he needed to do to fix the problem. I couldn't have asked for a more knowledgeable person who provided excellent customer service to help put my mind at ease. Thank you Alex and Jim Bennett's Plumbing!

I used to think highly of this company, Jim Bennett Plumbing, BUT not anymore. Last week I placed a service call on a major leak resulting from a plumbing job done by this company a few weeks before. First, the technician dispatched to make the fix on the fix went to the wrong address, causing me the loss of several hours of my time. Then upon coming to the right address, the technician made the fix, and explained both process and device failures. I was told by the technician that the company would make it up to me, as there was water damage, mold, and water loss around a $100. But it seems I'm getting the cold treatment, meaning the service manager is supposed to call me to discuss my situation, and it's been 4 days and i'm still waiting and calling in to the company checking. Beware of this company as it seems customer service and fairness may just be words used for marketing here.

This is an absolutely awful company. We have had them out probably 6-7 times in the past few of months - each time to fix the SAME problem. Each time they claim it is fixed, until the pipe starts leaking again within the next couple of weeks. If this had happened once, it would've been okay. NOPE, more than 6 times. Never an apology, never an explanation. Today they came out to fix a leaking shower. Lo and behold, after he left, not only is the shower still broken, NEITHER of our showers work now. I don't even know how that possible. We also called to let them know we need this fixed NOW, the man on the other end had no customer service skills. He did not give any kind of apology, just said "its gonna be a couple hours until i can get out there." Now all our evening responsibilities are cancelled, and instead of one broken shower we have two. Incredibly rude, incredibly inept at their jobs. This company NEEDS to go out of business. Quit wasting everyones time and money.

They did a great job upgrading my water heater to tankless! The job was done quickly at a fair price, and they made sure to clean up before they left. Elder was our tech, and he was professional and courteous! Thanks!

Called 3:15 Friday afternoon with issues with water bibs on side of my house. I had to turn water off until someone arrived to fix the issue since they were leaking so bad. I was told someone would be at my house by 6PM and that I had to pay after hour fee which I had no issue with. I was willing to pay whatever it took to get the leak fixed. 8PM arrived so I decided to call to check the technicians status and he didnt even know about the after hours service call and told me he was an hour away an hour away and couldn't get to my house until after 9PM. They market their 24hr a day service but evidently cannot deliver.

I would not even give them one star but I had to to be able to give them a review. I had two toilets installed. The one in my master suite leaked from the minute he put it in. I called the the next morning to tell them about the water all over my floor and that we had to turn the water off and couldn’t even use the toilet. They put me on the schedule for the afternoon that day and never showed up. No phone call either. Today day 2 of not have if a toilet they put me on the schedule for the afternoon as well. Hopefully they will show up this time. Poor customer service.

Thanks for replying. I have been dealing with this issue long enough and have canceled American Home Shield (the people who hired you) and had another company come out and fix all the issues in one day and no waiting to order parts. They were purchased local. Thanks
Horrible service. Put in a request for service for toilet and kitchen faucet through American home shield the end of June. Called three weeks ago and was told they had to order parts. They were supposed to order them back when original call was set up. NEVER did. Only ordered them when I called three weeks ago. So here we are Sept. 16 Toilet and kitchen faucet still broken. Called last week to get the facet replaced and was told it would be put on the schedule. Never contacted me. -
I am a brand new customer who is very impressed with my emergency repair service that I received today. I was treated well by very polite and respectful staff who went the extra mile to help me and make sure I was satisfied. Alex was my plumber and he was absolutely fantastic! The cost for my service was very reasonable, too. I highly recommend Jim Bennett's Plumbing!

Alex did a fantastic job with our repairs. We had a water heater concern and he quickly and professionally diagnosed the issue and was able to immediately make the repair. We also had a few other plumbing concerns that he was able to address with his visit.

I'm very dissatisfied with the service I received I needed washers changed on a tub faucet. The service guy was very nice the first time he replaced the washers. Three weeks later , my faucet was not leaking but running and I could not turn the water off. Called Jim Bennett to have them fix it again. They sent the same repair guy but this time he was late and he had a horrible attitude and blamed me for turning the faucet off too tight. I don't know what type of washers he used but in three days my faucet was running again and I couldn't turn it off. Had to turn the water off to the house and call someone else to fix. Jim Bennett's commercial (We can make that stop)was misleading for me. They charged a very high price to not fix the leak

Please PLEASE do yourself a favor and DO NOT call Jim Bennett Plumbing - DO NOT do business with them, DO NOT entrust your time and your home to them. I have never worked with a more incompetent company in my entire life.
Originally I called them after I had a flood in my townhouse, where my upstairs bathroom leaked through the ceiling into my downstairs area, destroying so much of my house.
At first one person came out, and he started by trying to take off the toilets in both upstairs bathrooms, and then started snaking in one, and said he couldn't get it to go. It took 2 days and 4 individuals to realize they spent the first day and a half snaking the wrong pipe, and then they said they repaired everything and it was good to go. However, they never tested anything, and as time went by, I knew something was still off and not fixed.
As the rebuilding was about to begin, I knew I needed them to come back and figure out what was still wrong - I called and got a bit of a runaround, and the original day someone was scheduled, they missed the scheduled window, and I needed to reschedule for the next day. The man who came immediately started noticing all the mistakes that were left by the original FOUR people who were here. They did not replace the wax liner in one of the upstairs toilets and in fact left it entirely off the hook - I was purposely not using that bathroom because I was concerned something was wrong, and as soon as he flushed it, water once again came from the ceiling in the downstairs. This was also the cause of a smell I was experiencing in the other upstairs bathroom.
Then as he told me to watch the pipe to ensure no new leakage happened after he fixed it, I told him I did in fact see more water coming through. He then got a ladder to look, and said discovered that the time the original four people were here, they actually put a hole in the pipe with all their snaking attempts. A HOLE. IN THE PIPE. Something that could have been caught at any point if they had done their due diligence and tested everything, reattached the toilet, gone through just the basic steps.
The man, now the fifth person who had been to my home, said he couldn't repair the pipe because he didn't have the supplies, but that he would come back on Monday. This was also the day the reconstruction was supposed to begin, so I had to work with them to push closing up the hole in the ceiling back a day. Monday came, and he didnt show and did not answer my call, and when I called the office the second time to confirm he was still in fact coming, they said no he wasn't, maybe they could reschedule tomorrow. That would be completely unacceptable with the repair job already being pushed back, and after advocating for myself, I pushed that they please send someone that day, but not anyone from the original crew who came, because clearly they already left my house worse off than when I started.
They ended up sending three other guys later that day, one of which was from the original group, and it was clear they were all frustrated and annoyed with me/the situation while they were here.
To me, if you are a business, and you make an egregious error and completely continue to string along a customer, you should be rushing to make it right and apologize and going above and beyond to make it right. The only rush that was ever received was a rush to end the initial work without finishing correctly the first time and being extra quick to write me a large bill then as well.
This is my home, and my life that has been disrupted, and Jim Bennett Plumbing is not a company I would ever want someone to entrust these important items to. During an already stressful and traumatic experience, they amplified those aspects and made it so much worse. I keep thinking, after 2 months of living in a construction zone, what if we had sealed everything back up and replaced all damaged items, and then with a hole in the pipe this would have happened all over again? -
I am very disappointed by the service that I received from these folks. I am an American home Shield client and maybe it’s because of this that my case was not handled with care. I had been dealing with a drippy tub spout for a month now to which they have sent a technician to my home 4 times with no repair. Every technician that came out stated a different cause. There was no uniform troubleshoot. They switched my hot and cold water and insisted that it could not be remedied without tearing down the wall and redoing the piping, not to mention I had an appointment this morning for them to replace my shower valve so that water damage repairs could begin by another contractor, I spoke with Sharon who assured me that I was on the schedule for Monday despite conflicting information that her technician Chris was giving about the leaky spout being due to high water pressure (Chris had informed me that the cause was a valve but that the water pressure wasn’t helping, he told me that the water pressure valve could wait). I received a call Sunday night from my warranty company stating that Jim Bennett would not be coming due to their technician saying that the cause was high water pressure and not a valve (They don’t cover water pressure issues). Jim Bennett’s didn’t even have the common courtesy to call me and let me know themselves (Even though I had JUST spoken to them that Friday afternoon about this and my repair schedule). This Monday morning when I called at 8:20 am to follow up on my appointment and at least putting my shower dial right side up (they flipped it upside down on their first attempt And said that they would remedy when they came back) they told me that they would not be coming out due to my high water pressure. Even though I told them that I only wanted them to put my shower dial back right side up she told me that she would call me back and it is now 4:30pm and I still haven’t heard anything. Figures.
Silver lining Lance Maxwell plumbing came out same day this afternoon and installed my water pressure valve ALONG with also fixing the leaky tub spout AND put my shower dial back right side up WITH the hot and cold water on the appropriate sides.
Needless to say I would not recommend and will not be doing any further business with Jim Bennett’s Plumbing.
P.s. they cut three holes into my ceiling and said that they would send someone out to close it up. This was completely neglected. I’ve washed my hands of them. -
I normally don’t post reviews - even with a bad experience I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. But I don’t want anyone else going through what we have.
We finally got Jim Bennett’s plumbing to come out to work on fixing the pipe in the kitchen. They were originally supposed to give us an estimate to send to our insurance but they came out to to fix it. We decided to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed since we haven’t been able to use our sink or our dishwasher since the hurricane in October. They “fixed it” and left and we ran the dishwasher and heard water outside and when we looked it was leaking worse than it was the first time.
The owner called and apologized and promised to make it right and also told us that he is a licensed contractor and that he could fix all the damage. We scheduled a time for the owner to come out to give us an estimate for all the work.
The day Mr. Bennett was scheduled to come out, both my husband and I left work to ensure there was no miscommunication. We didn’t get a phone call and he didn’t show. Two days later we finally got a hold of him and he said he would send someone out (no apology or explanation of what happened). The following week they came out ready to work and not give us an estimate. There was apparently some miscommunication. We gave them one more chance and met Mr. Bennett at the house on Feb 27th. He wrote everything down and told us he could get everything fixed for us and would get us an estimate for our insurance ASAP since it would be 15k-20k to repair everything. That following Tuesday we still had no estimate and began calling every day.
My husband finally got a hold of Mr. Bennett today and he promised the estimate by the end of the day. He also mentioned an estimate about 10k less than he originally mentioned. At which point my husband had to remind him all the items to be fixed (that he had already supposedly written down for us). And he never did send the promised estimate.
At this point we will need to start from the beginning all over again and fortunately have a contractor who is taking care of us. We still can’t use our sink or dishwasher since October and we are really not happy with Jim Bennett’s plumbing.
I have also called twice now to obtain a copy of their general liability policy for our insurance company and have not received a call back. I didn’t want to complain about a local company but at this point we are beyond disappointed and won’t be working with them in the future. -
I had an incredible experience with this company and wanted to share my feedback. I woke up on Friday morning to a big leak under my kitchen sink and of course was not happy. I called based on a recommendation from a neighbor. Linda was very friendly and helpful and told me should would be able to have someone at my house on Monday morning first thing. Linda called Monday morning to let me know Brandon was on his way and would be at my house within 30-minutes. Brandon showed up with a smile on his face and was quickly able to diagnose the problem. I needed a new garbage disposal and luckily he already had one on his truck. The whole process took less than an hour. Brandon was courteous, professional and very personable. He did a fantastic job and knows what he is doing. He even cleaned up after the job and took the trash out. I will definitely recommend this company in the future! Shoutout to Brandon and Linda!!!!

Title: Irresponsible, Incompetent, and Completely Unaccountable – Avoid at All Costs
If I could give zero stars, I would. Jim Bennett Plumbing in Tallahassee left us with a literal disaster. Their crew not only broke our septic system, they also abandoned the job, leaving our property in a condition that was uninhabitable.
No running water. No working toilets. Raw incompetence.
And as if that weren’t enough, they refused to return our calls for three days. We were left scrambling—without basic utilities—and ultimately had to pay out-of-pocket for an outside electrician and another plumbing company just to make the home livable again.
Jim Bennett Plumbing showed no professionalism, no accountability, and absolutely no concern for the safety or well-being of their customers.
We trusted them with our home. They walked away from the job and left us to clean up the mess.
Avoid this company like the plague.

Update: Even After the company took the time to reply to my review they still have not called me back.
Stay away from this company at all costs!
