I'm giving a 5-star review even though the repairman wasn't able to address my Whirlpool dryer problem. Let me explain.
My dryer was taking a longer time to dry my clothing than usual.
So I checked the dryer manual, and it said that the dryer should be professionally serviced once to twice a year to remove the lint from inside the back of the dryer in addition to the inside and front filters of my ventless dryer that I clean regularly before every dryer load. So I called Honolulu Appliance Repair to make an appointment to have the lint removed from inside my dryer.
I was informed in advance that there was a base service fee just to come out to check out my dryer which I understood and accepted by giving my charge card information.
When the repairman came out, I explained the issue in needing the internal lint filter cleaned as per the manual instructions. He said that the dryer I have does not have an internal filter and recommended I buy a new dryer since it sounds a faulty compresser issue. He made this diagnosis without opening the dryer or testing it. So after he left and before buying a new dryer, I decided to change the dryer setting from "automatic" to "timed" (which I had never done before). And THAT resolved the problem. There must be an issue with the sensor on the automatic drying setting.
I called Honolulu Appliance Repair Pro to explain what had happened, and I was pleased that they offered not to charge me the service call fee. That was very professional and understanding of them. Therefore, I'm giving the 5-star rating for how they handled the situation.

    THREE STARS - Issue Resolved.

After posting my initial review about the issues we faced with our refrigerator repair, the owner of Honolulu Appliance Repair Pro reached out to apologize and took responsibility. They made a sincere effort to resolve the problem, and a technician successfully fixed the issue.

While it took some time to get there, I appreciate their dedication to making things right. The owner’s genuine concern and follow-through were commendable.

    Thank You.

    ZERO STARS!!

Unfulfilled Promises by Honolulu Appliance Repair Pro!!

Our experience with Honolulu Appliance Repair Pro has been disappointing. We needed a simple repair for our 1 year old refrigerator’s water and ice functions, but faced repeated letdowns. They missed five (5) appointments without notice AND when technicians did show up, they either had the wrong parts or an incorrect diagnosis. Despite these issues, they charged us for the initial visit, diagnosis, and parts, none of which solved our problem.
Communication has been non-existent. We’ve made all the follow-up calls and received no answers, updates, or callbacks. This lack of professionalism and accountability is unacceptable, especially after taking payment without delivering the promised service.
For those considering this company, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. Their inability to show up as promised, coupled with a complete lack of communication, suggests your money and time might be better spent with a more reliable provider.

My gas oven was not igniting. Called Honolulu Appliance Repair Pro who agreed to come out for a $175 service fee that would also be applied to the repair. I knew that the gas oven igniter for my Samsung oven was the problem and ordered the part ahead of time to save money and expedite the repair. Today, Ray the service repairman showed up - who was EXCELLENT. However, after my 30-45 minute repair, he told me that me that my labor charge was $400. I told him that could not be true for 30-45 minutes of work. He called his supervisor who stated "it's not really a labor charge but a case by case basis because we make a lot of money off of parts, but I can offer you $50 off." I told him that I wouldn't accept anything less than $100 off and he agreed if I agreed to write a review (case in point). This is absolute false advertising/representation and price gouging. Would strongly recommend against using this company despite very competent repairs.

    UPDATE:
The owner of the company just called me asking why I left a 1 star review. I asked if he read the review as it very accurately described the events/conversations that JUST happened. He said that he had and that he was expecting me to leave a positive review. I told him that I agreed to leave a review but he did not specify that it was supposed to be positive, just like he did not specify that the work to be done was going to be more expensive if I provided my own parts. He then told me that he was going to look up who I am to post a negative review about me and that what I did was a "very cowardly thing." NEVER using this company again. Customers beware.

Here's an update on my dilemma. Mu original request was in April and rescheduled @ least 7x. Last schedule was 7/3. Automatic update via email and text of upcoming appt except no one calls and Noone to speak to. Called today because I was instructed to call and got a response that they are missing 1 part. So I asked why I had gotten all the text and email messages saying I have an appt? Reply... sorry for inconvenience but someone should have updated you. Additionaly, I called where is the 2nd evaluation because the one time an actual technician came in June, he never even opened the unit. This information was also relayed to them and again there reply.... sorry for thei nconvenience. Still with no response if my machine will be properly evaluated. The other response given is that they have escalated it and who knows what that means since they have said the same things on all the other 7 times my schedule was rescheduled. The only thing new is that now they tell me to wait 3-5 business days to take care of issue and once again, I have to initiate the call to get updates. Again, pls do not use this service and definitely do not the contract and save yourself a lot of headache and frustration

Bought a used dryer from my friend. Stopped working after the first use due to all the pet hair left in it. Kekoa did the initial inspection and was very efficient and professional. Kekoa and Addison did a very good job installing the new heating element and even cleaned out the entire unit for a discount. Great guys, thank you again.

Addison and Elijah did a great job repairing my Bosch washing machine. Addison diagnosed the problem on Thursday and they returned Monday with the parts and completed the repair. They were professional and efficient.

Geno came out to my property in Honolulu and fixed my GE Refrigerator. Impeccable service! Operators were so kind and the technicians were super polite. Will recommend this amazing company to all of my friends and family and if you are thinking of having them come out you 100% should. Great prices and they fixed it in one go!!

I’m very pleased with the level of service I received for my whirlpool dryer repair. The repairman , Jay who first diagnosed the problem and then returned to repair my dryer even though I was having an issue with my extended warranty. I was eventually reimbursed after my dryer was repaired. My dryer works perfectly now and I’m so grateful for Honolulu Appliance Repair Pro. I Will definitely use them again for any of my appliance repair needs . Customer service both on the phone and in person excellent. Thank you so much 😊

    13 weeks, nearly 3.5 months. Near $2,000.
Numerous visits due to repairman error.
I was a returning customer. I already knew they were priced exorbitantly high. But I was returning because this company had essentially a monopoly on island for servicing my brand of washer/dryer and while the part they serviced last time started failing conveniently within a few months of past the warranty, the first time I dealt with them was at least smooth. This time was not remotely like that. 7 calls over a span of a month is what it took to have them show up. Every time I called I had a new person on the phone. Despite being a returning customer, each time they said they had no idea who I was. Each time they said they see nothing about me being scheduled for service (despite every call ending with me providing consent to charge my card and then telling me they’d arrange a time with my tenant to do the diagnostic). This went on over and over. I’d schedule, they said they’d contact my tenant, weeks passed, they didn’t, I’d call back, they’d say they don’t know who I am, we’d spend 10 minutes establishing who I am, they’d say they’ll schedule with me tenant, rinse and repeat. They finally fix it to the tune of $2,000, 3 months later. And my tenant tried to turn the washer on for the very first wash. Still broken. Nothing fixed.
My tenant went 3+ months with no laundry in unit as they paid for because of this company. I’ve had to pay out of pocket for it all.
And this company had the audacity To charge me just shy of $2,000 over this horrendous service. If I knew beforehand, I’d have just purchased a brand new stack 3 months ago. It has been a nightmare.
I know we are limited in services on island. I know we get overcharged for subpar service. But if you are at all able to use another company I implore you to do so. Stay far away.

I was very very pleased with the service. We actually had a warranty on our washer but it was scam because they scheduled us a month away. How to survive without the washer for a month? So we called Honolulu Appliance Repair and it was perfect. They were reliable, always showed up on time. They fixed our washer. We love them

Honolulu Appliance Repair charged me $175 to "diagnose" my washing machine. They told me the washer suspension springs were bad and needed to be replaced. They quoted me $500 to replace the springs. The springs cost $100 from Reliable Parts (which they suggested I use as that is where they get their parts), who had them in stock on island. That means they were gouging me $400 for labor/upcharge for the part. Additionally, I installed the springs and my machine still didn't work (which took me 30 minutes as a layman). So not only did they try and overcharge me they misdiagnosed the problem in the first place. I will never use their service again and I highly suggest you avoid this company at all costs.

Technician Addison was helpful in diagnosing the washers drain pump malfunction. Quick and Efficient. Very patient with the owner.

If I could do no stars, I would. This business is a scam.

We had the technicians coming on 03/06/25 and they spent less than 15 minutes to tell us the washer is broken and needs to be replaced, and the fridge compressor is broken and they'll order the parts. Nothing was done since then. Two weeks later, the technician contacted us separately and told us they would come by but never showed up. We then called their office number and the dispatch cannot provide any updates regarding parts. Instead, she told us she'll relay the information to her supervisor and have the supervisor call us back. Another two months passed by, there's no call back. We called four times and finally the dispatch picked up the phone and put us on hold right away without asking for any information from us first. Then, same answers were given as the last time. We also tried to call the technician who helped us, he sent us straight to voicemail.
There's also a clause in the work order invoice that states if you decides to not go through with their services, you still need to pay for a 20% restocking fee. For a part that they'll probably never order for you. This business needs to be reported to DCCA and shut down.

I live in Laie and Google searched for "refrigerator repair near me". Honolulu Appliance Repair Co. was one of the choices. I narrowed it to the best reviews,
Raymond answered my call right away and said he's on the Noth Shore. He came in 30 minutes. He listened to my problem, answered my questions, knew how to repair my fridge to solve the noise and leak. He worked efficiently, replaced all racks and drawers, cleaned area, very friendly, and the cost was the best!! I'm recommending Raymond to all. I'm keeping his business card and will definitely use Raymond again.

I had this company come out to repair my Bosch oven in Nov 2024. The display panel not working but everything else on the stove works. They charge me $175.00 to have the technician come out and diagnose the issues, they charge me another $350.00 for parts no more than 5 months I am having the same issue, I called and I mention that the display panel not working again, the lady tells me that the part is covered under the warranty but they will need to charge me another $175.00 to have the technician come out and another $175.00 for a service fee. The technician came out and all he did was move the stove out, pull out the plug wait 10 seconds and plug it back in, still no luck, he decides that its the same issue. So why am I getting charged twice for something that never even last for 6 months? Won't it be no charge? WHO THE HELL IS THE OWNER OF THIS COMPANY? HE REPLIES FOR ME TO CALL FLORA and that all my money will be refunded. Well I've been trying to call Flora and she always either on another line or out of the office. I also see that he made other replies to other people who left a review to call Flora, just wondering is anybody else having the same issues with Flora?

Honolulu Appliance is not a company I would perfer to anyone.

Highly recommended! I recently had an incredible experience with Honolulu Appliance Repar thanks to their phenomenal manager, Geno. Not only is Geno a highly skilled professional, but his generosity and patience truly stand out. He has guided me on two occasions, fixing my dishwasher via text and video messages, demonstrating his adeptness and commitment to excellent customer service. He also helped me fix my washing machine. He diagnosed the problem via video and helped identify the part I needed. He saved me some money and I am very grateful. I am thoroughly impressed and I am confident that under his guidance Honolulu Appliance Repair Pros will continue to provide quality service.
