HVAC reviews in Honolulu, Hawaii

Very professional people. Very satisfied with the work they do and reasonable price.
-
BEST IN TOWN.
DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT USING SOMEONE ELSE.
PRICE IS ALWAYS FAIR. -
Highly recommend PurAir Hawaii. Everyone in our condominium complex should have their ducts cleaned by PurAir.
-
The technicians were competent, they came on time and explained what they were doing. Its a bit more expensive than other services but a higher quality
-
PurAir replaced my old air conditioner in my condo. Trustworthy, respectful, professional and efficient! Highly recommend.
-
Have experienced several A/C emergencies at Harbor Square where PurAir was the fastest responder but was only periferably involved. They're terrific and provide complete answers.
-
Took off from work to get a quote, owner called and tried doing everything over the phone to save him a trip. Word of mouth travels fast for bad business, I would give a negative but it won't let me.
-
Michael and his crew did a great job trying to resolve the water cooled air conditioning unit and even did a temporary patch for the blower assembly and did not charge any additional funds.
-
This has to be one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever seen or work 4. Neither the technicians or the owner has any real refrigerant background. They like to cut Corners & they're way overpriced..!!! suggest you don't do buy from them.
-
Great workers! Zaldy N. & Judson H. did a thorough retreatment of my AC unit. They were cordial, professional, and detailed. Happy customer!
-
Amazing customer service from Annie and the entire team at Pur Air Hawaii. They coordinated maintenance at my home, even when I was off island for 6 months due to military training. Thank you!
-
Great customer service. They are prompted, efficient and professional. They get the job done on time, protect your furniture and clean up after themselves. I would highly recommend them.
-
Pur Air worked with me to schedule the service during a short break in tenants which made cleaning the ducts much easier in an empty unit. The only suggestion is verbally informing customers about the 3% service fee for credit card charges.

Pat, Michael and the crew did a professional job. We are in general satisfied with the new system, except one small issue. The new motor still intermittently vibrates a little too much. Not all the time but intermittently.
But overall, so far, rhe PuuAir staff has been very responsive and helpful. -
The strangest and most bizarre vendor experience ever in my life.
Me: Renter in a high rise condo unit, so I was not paying for this service directly and this vendor was not my choice.
Problem: A/C thermostat needed replacing.
Visit #1: A/C problem evaluation and cost estimate for repair. Tech arrive almost an hour late. He wanted to know where the circuit breaker was located and I said it is outside of the unit. He then proceeds to look in my linen closet, bathroom cabinet, and bedroom closet for the circuit breaker which was strange to me. After this he said it was okay to not deal with the circuit breaker, and goes ahead and tests the thermostat even though the power was live.
Visit #2: Thermostat replacement. Appointment time 3 pm, tech arrival time 430 pm (90 minutes late!), tech left at 550 pm (and the job was not even completed!!). Tech has no badge nor clothing identifying himself as a Purair tech. I watched him the entire time during this visit and he was often just staring at the thermostat for very prolonged periods of time. At the end he said that he did not bring the right tools to complete the job that day and left.
Visit #3: Tech was only 15 minutes late and he completed the job efficiently.
Icing on the cake: I receive an email from my landlord: the tech on visit #3 said that I "had told them to come back because his roommate was still sleeping. They were drilling at the time." First, I do not have a room mate and no one was sleeping in my unit. Second, I did not send the tech away. Third, I have no idea what the tech meant by drilling. Lastly, I had a witness present during the entire time of visit #3, a realtor who was showing the unit to a prospective buyer. My landlord dropped this issues raised in the email.
Bottom line: Three separate visits and false accusations to fix one A/C thermostat. -
Pat is the man! He is very upfront and stays to his word. I needed special parts and he had them readily available! Wow fast service indeed. Would totally recommend.

Pureair Hawaii are apparently the only game in town when it comes to servicing the central air conditioning in the fifty-year-old Princess Leilani. With a phone call, an estimator was sent a couple days later to do a detailed estimate both with basic servicing and a total overhaul pricing. I'm glad I was given options. I went with the $2,500 basic servicing and repair because the total overhaul pricing including four brand new units would have been over $30,000.
The Pureair Hawaii workers arrived on time and were exceptionally clean in putting dust covers on nearby furniture and cleaning up after they were done. They planned to work from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but due to some difficulties stayed until almost 6 p.m. they even help me put back some of the closet shelves which is beyond the scope of their responsibility. Purair Hawaii is Strongly recommended! -
I am utterly disappointed in the service I received from PurAir Hawai’i. Two saturdays ago, an estimator was supposed to come to my house. Not only did he not show up, it’s been a whole week and no one bothered to call to apologize or follow up with the service I needed. Must be nice to have so much business that you can treat potential customers this way. Kudos to the owner.

Awesome Customer service !
I own a rental unit and the building board of directors had PurAir do a all building inspection. The AC was rusted and need all types of repairs. The estimate was sent over by Kenny (I think GM) was a lot more than I wanted to pay but...I had to bite the bullet and have it done.
Fast forward to Today. The repairs were done and I received a Voice message from Kenny..."We pulled the top coil and the rust didn't look as bad as we thought, so we didnt need to change that out...so we are sending a refund for that portion of the job we didnt have to do"
I called Kenny back right away and Thanked him for running an honest business. Not sure how long he's been with them but PurAir Hawaii is Lucky to have a good person on their staff...also I wanted to point out..it's 6:15pm on a Friday..he picked up the phone..that's another added star..if I could give one more star for extra credit I would.
Super Big Mahalo Kenny and PurAir guys that did the work!

They constantly cancel on you. You take the day off of work and then they call you a couple hours prior to say they can no longer make it. They don't have parts on hand, nor at the store, so things have to be ordered, which delay repair. As a business owner myself, I ALWAYS have common components that break and go bad on hand. I understand it cost more to operate that way, but it's also how you maintain a 5 star business. With the unprofessional scheduling issues, the huge show time windows, the lack of communication, and parts on hand I rate them with 1 star. There's too many other options out there that do better.

They showed up and did half the job but didn’t charge for the other services. Decided to up the fee when contacted and loves to over charge customers. Quality of service is very poor. Left the cover half screwed down and the chill water unit was blowing into the closet and not the vents. Also left a valve half open and the unit blows hot air now. The vent to the other room was taped up and blocked. Really sloppy and didn’t care on the work done in my unit. Won’t use their service again. also had an issue with the flood stop unit beeping. Had to unplug it for it to reset and worked again. Kept bouncing back and forth to open or closed and didn’t know to push open so the valve was shut and hot air blew since they didn’t leave a manual. Not like PurAir was any eager to come out. Won’t answer my email either. Horrible that a company can’t even take ownership. At the prices they charge use Johnson Controls or another local HVAC company. Who tapes a vent closed just look at the photo and doesn’t remember to take it off. Had a service call from another vendor and fixed everything quickly.
