PurAir installed 3 excellent AC systems in my condo. Installers and the owner Pat both have significant experience and are capable of dealing with unique problems. They make sure you keep breathing clean air by instructing customers about proper service. Excellent company!

ZERO stars because I am stuck with this firm. I hired this company after several conversations and looking at multiple offers. The person I spoke with was so nice! Unfortunately, the value turned out to be hot garbage. When they came to do the installation, the key was not in the box so they couldn't do the work. This was something I was completely unaware of and ended up having to fire that contractor and change the locks for my safety. I would have no reason to believe the keys were not available when Purair arrived. However, the fee they charged was BEYOND ridiculous: more than $700. I have NEVER felt so taken advantage of in my life. I had already paid the deposit of >$3000, so I was stuck. HORRIBLE. I am in customer service, and such fees should not be punitive. This makes the customer feel as if they are just a patsy, a sponge from whom to squeeze money. $700 is entirely too much. As a SURGEON, I only charge $250 for a no show fee. My hospital takes the loss when a patient does not show, and still has to pay its nurses, operating room staff, etc. That's the cost of doing business when you actually CARE for people. I understand that there may be a fee, but $700 is reprehensible. Their complete lack of understanding with regard to what people are going through is incomprehensible. And may I reiterate: AVOID with all your might!!

We contacted three companies before selecting Pur Air to remove, refurbish and reinstall the air conditioners in our condo in 2015. They accommodated our remodeling schedule to do it. They even sent the A/C doors and vents to an auto paint shop to be re-painted to match the color of our walls. Boy, do they ever look good! They now perform quarterly service, filter changes and maintenance. They are very flexible scheduling service and the technicians are NEAT! The office staff is very nice and always answer or return our calls. We asked to have an electric emergency shutoff switch installed and they told us we already had an auto shutoff and they didn't want to take our money for something we didn't need. How rare is that !

Zaldy and Rene were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful AC repairmen. Scheduling an appointment took a long time with a few cancellations, but I'm happy with the work that was done.

Horrible customer service, they don't value your time. My ac broke in my unit late May and I let my property manager (pm) know in June. Two weeks (June 15) passed and I asked my pm for an update. She told me I should have been contacted by Purair because she put in a work order on June 6. She said she'll follow up. Purair calls the next morning and apologized for the late response (misplaced paper work or something) and scheduled a visit that afternoon...cool.

They arrived and told be they couldn't fix it because they didn't have a specific part on hand (understandable) and they'll be back the next day around the same time. Stayed home the next day waiting,. They didn't show. I assumed maybe they didn't have the part at home base also. At least give me a call so I don't wate a day waiting.

Fast forward to June 27 and I get a call from them basically saying paperwork was misplaced.... AGAIN....thus the delay and asked when will be the best time to come over. Made a schedule for NEXT day around noon. Today I waited until 330pm. I gave them a call and asked if they were still coming. They tell me I'm scheduled for tomorrow. I'm POSITIVE I was scheduled for today. I'll be surprised if they do show tomorrow, maybe paperwork again. It's been 22 days since my pm first contacted them.

UPDATE: They did come today and everything is working fine. I can't comment on the price because my property manager takes care of that. My original review was one star but I changed it to three stars, I would have given two and a half if I could. They did fix my ac eventually and the person on the phone and the repair person was friendly. I just didn't appreciate wasting 2 days waiting for them for them to not even show. Now that I had some time to mull things over, I felt maybe one star is too harsh.

Just my personal opinion - terrible customer service 👎 you throw the dice 🎲 and see what you receive from the business as there are better choices 🌺

I contacted the company on a Friday morning, informed everyone (staff) in a meeting and they will contact after their meeting concludes. No contact so I contacted them after 3pm. Told not a meeting, a training day, if they don't contact me by today by 5pm they will contact me on Monday. Monday, comes then expires, no contact. Tuesday, the company contacts me. Begins to discuss my A/C problem, I don't have an A/C issue. I have a dryer vent issue. Suddenly, quotes me around $280+ and I as kupuna am required to move the entire machine on my own before work is started. Okay, no thank you. I will find a company that does true customer service and doesn't make kupuna get involved as that's what I am paying your younger staff for.

Purair Hawaii contracted to remove my old AC and install a new one. They arrived exactly at the hour agreed upon, prepped my apartment very carefully and worked for 8 hours in 82 degree heat to remove/install the AC. They did fastidious work in that heat, leaving the apartment spotless and with a beautifully operational AC. I would recommend them highly to anyone needing this kind of work.

PurAir Hawai’i installed and then has regularly maintained our 3 A/C units for a number of years. Des and the office staff are great and the techs top notch. 5 stars all the way. You won’t be disappointed!

Excellent company that has been in business for decades in Hawai'i. They are very familiar with all AC systems used in Hawaii and the management team stands by their work. Highly recommend for condos in Waikiki with AC units that often get moldy and need to get cleaned up. Also had a thermostat and UV light installed by them. Prices are very reasonable by Hawai'i standards.

We are an elder helpless couple who seeking for help after another shop who installed our window AC unit 10months ago refused to come check out the new problem

Absolutely atrocious business practices, I have left multiple voicemails and I have called countless times over several hours just to speak to someone for an AC unit that is desperately needed for a family with young children. To add insult to injury I have also emailed them for a “faster response” and I’m still waiting. I have yet to talk to any of the employees and I am losing money because of the wait. I even gave them an additional chance by completing an entire work order while the cursor was still blinking on this review and it’s now an additional 3 hours later and I still have yet to get a reply to my email or voicemails.

This company sells what I believe to be the best brand of HVAC equipment there is on the market, Mitsubishi Electric. They stand behind the product that they sell, and although they don’t have flashy commercials or pretty girls hawking their products, they quietly and confidently provide the islands with the most reliable and serviceable AC brand. I highly recommend these guys and the Mitsubishi Electric lineup of air conditioning equipment.

Great experience from start to finish! I’ve used them multiple times now. They are fast, professional, and get the job done well. Everything was fixed quickly and my AC is running perfectly now. Highly recommend if you need reliable AC repair.

They replaced my blower fan. They came and were done in a timely manner

DJ provides prompt and immediate service. Had some AC trouble in our apartment and unlike other comptetitors, DJ was there the same day and repaired in an hour. Very skilled contractor, understands AC units, plumbing, and electronics. Turns out mine had a blown capacitor so was very fortunate. Very reasonable prices and honest person that won't try and sell an entire replacement unit. Also took the time to clean out the filter, pan, etc. Highly recommend this person if you have AC trouble!

I highly recommend DJ and Aloha AC for window AC installation. I love that he was able to text and he and his teammate Ka’a service was outstanding. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and meticulous, ensuring a perfect installation and leaving no mess behind. I’m a homeowner in Ala Moana with a newer condo, and our Samsung digital inverter AC suddenly went out. The whole family — especially the kids — was super uncomfortable with the unit blowing warm air. I found Aloha AC Services, and the owner came out right away. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem with my Samsung system on the spot.

I had an air conditioning system that wasn't working. I called different companies who told me I needed to replace the entire air conditioner/heat pump because of leaks. Thankfully, D.Jay was recommended to me so I gave him a call. He came by and within a few hours the entire system was up and running. D.Jay is such a pleasant person. He even took the time to clean up after the job was finished. And most importantly, he saved me a fortune. An honest professional with true aloha spirit.

DJ is the best! Reliable, knowledgeable, trustworthy and professional. I wish I had options like DJ and Aloha AC in all the trades. He is a crucial member of our team.
