RCI built our home in Summer Duck Farms. Everyone on the RCI Team was wonderful to work with. From Katie Newell in design services, whose talent and guidance helped me pull all my design choices together to Project Manager Dan Luniewski, every one was terrific. Our thanks for building our beautiful home also go to Assistant Project managers Roger Sheppard and Josh Kegel. Tim Richardson was also a pleasure to work with and helped make our pre and post closing walk throughs seamless. My husband and I highly recommend this entire team.

Nothing but the best things to say about our experience with RCI! We built a new home in Hickory Hill (Ashland, VA) in 2022. The experience was professional, friendly and very satisfactory. The quality of the workmanship is very good. We love the style and features of the home we chose. Our manager, Brian Peay, has always answered all of our questions and concerns in a timely and competent manner. Any issues we had (normal to be expected when building a new home) were always addressed and remediated as soon as possible. We can highly and heartedly recommend RCI!

We just celebrated our 1 year anniversary in our nee home that RCI built . Brian Peay was our project manager . Brian kept our project going through the material and labor shortages that occurred as a result of the Covid Pandemic.Our home was completed on time. RCI builds a high quality home with high quality finishes. Thank you!!

I began my house hunting process in August 2021. I looked at several homes in the Richmond, Goochland and Ashland areas. The craftsmanship of the RCI builders stood out. Once I locked into a contract for my home/property, things went quickly. My design appointment with Ashley was fantastic and the PM, Josh, has been so accommodating and responsive. Any issues I’ve had, have been dealt with quickly. Josh even connected me with a contractor, Brian, to do some upgrades I wanted. I’ve had periodic inspections and am coming up on my annual inspection next month. I know that will also go off without any issues. I would absolutely recommend RCI to anyone moving to this area or looking to build a custom home.

We drew out a design for a unique house we wanted, but due to budget we had to make some changes, and RCI helped us with the redesign. We were blessed with a wonderful Realtor, Keith Harding, who introduced us to our amazing builder Troy Szalay. Troy answered all our calls and texts quickly, and he called us with updates every week. He and his team did an amazing job. Ashley Cahoon was awesome in assisting us with design choices.
The main complaint we have is the air conditioner units were placed right outside a bedroom window blocking view of our property which is why we moved here, and which we were told they would center away from the windows. Once we saw what they were doing we asked to have them moved but no response and that was not changed. Also wish windows opened at top also.
RCI did use top quality products and they say they stand by their work. We believe and hope they will. Roger Shepherd has already come by and it hasn't even been a month. Overall things turned out better than we imagined and it is beautiful! There were other issues too, but compared to other builders We believe they do good work. We would recommend all of the above mentioned.

I will never buy an RCI home again. I would reccomend paying real close attn to the plot and get them to mark about every 50yds how the property line goes. Especially if you get a large lot.

We used RCI Builders to build our dream home. Our Project Manager, Troy Szalay, was wonderful!! He was very responsive, addressed all questions and concerns we had throughout the process, and always made sure we were well-informed of the progress. We love our home design, the Wilton model, and couldn't have asked for a better Project Manager to oversee the build! Thank you, Troy!!

It's hard to capture in words how pleased we are with our home! In the middle of a pandemic, supply challenges and as first time homeowners, building from the ground up was overwhelming. Picking the home and the place was the easy part. The construction and the waiting was the hardest part of it all! However, our Project Manager, Troy S. provided the highest level of customer service from the moment we met to the day we moved in. He provided weekly updates, answered every text/phone call and full transparency of the process. AND, our home finished ahead of time! RCI is lucky to have him as a PM and if you get him as a PM, consider yourself lucky!

Love everything about my new home at Luck Farm. It’s my dream house! I’ve been here four months, and so far, so good.

Top quality craftsmanship, finished on schedule, and sparkling clean when I walked in on day one.
They allowed a few custom modifications too, that I’m super happy with.

Project Manager Josh Kegel has been terrific to work with, very responsive and detail oriented.
(He earned extra stars too, for helping me dispense with that spider…haha)

Our home was just completed at the end of January 2023. We had the BEST experience with RCI from start to end. Our realtor, Keith Harding, was so helpful from the beginning. Communication was great and he really helped us narrow down exactly what we were looking for in our new construction home. He was straightforward, thorough, and clear with communication which we appreciated!! Once the home building process began, our project manager, Bobby Jackson, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable! He kept us up to date with the entire process and was very easy to communicate with! The whole process was quick and easy. We loved how everything was laid out for us on a chart so we could keep up with what was happening and what was to come! I would highly recommend RCI Builders!

The RCI team was great to work with even through our custom requests. Brian Click and Gabe made sure all our needs were met and some. They get it done and advocate for the homeowner.

My wife and I chose to build with RCI almost a year ago. To be completely transparent, this process was met with highs and lows. However what set RCI apart to us, was their commitment to fixing any issues and providing us with the best home they could. From addressing any items with the home or piece of property itself, we definitely felt heard and supported throughout the process. To Todd, Brian, and Bobby.. we thank you for all of your work.

Purchased a new build from RCI. Used their realtor (Lindsey was awesome), their mortgage lender (Nick with Townebank Mortgage was fantastic) and their closing attorney (MG Law). A bit reluctant in the beginning to use all of RCI's "products" but I figured, "we'll see how this goes". All went smoothly. We've now been moved in for 30 days and we couldn't be happier. Build quality is great and any issues that have come up were quickly resolved. Even minor things that I would usually expect to be responsible for, they quickly resolved. Post purchase, RCI (Bobby and Wade) have continued to be very responsive and actively seek to make sure we're happy.

We had the pleasure of working with Sara Crum and Bobby Jackson throughout the building process of our new home. From the start, Sara was incredibly informative and easy to get in touch with. She communicated with us daily and was very helpful getting the process started and helping us narrow down all the details/designs! We had Bobby as our project manager and he was great to work with. He made sure everything moved smoothly and in a timely manner. He met all required deadlines and made sure to answer any questions or concerns we had throughout the build. We appreciate both of them and all the others behind the scenes who helped make our DREAM HOUSE a reality!

My husband and I built our dream home in Stags Leap Subdivision with RCI last year. We looked at many different builders and their homes and kept coming back to RCI. Their craftsmanship stood out beyond the rest. We added a lot of custom features to our home and our project manager, Brian Click, was very accommodating. He told us he would keep us informed of the build step by step and that’s exactly what he did. He was easy to reach when we had questions and if he didn’t have an answer for us, he would find it out quickly. We worked with Katie, one of the designers at RCI and she was patient and helpful during the entire selection process. We love our home and even a year later still have people drive by asking about it. Thank you, RCI and Brian!

This is a follow up review as we just had our two year anniversary moving into our Becky in Rock Creek.
The experience has been amazing. The quality of workmanship from RCI Builders is the highest we have experienced.
The efficiency of the HVAC has been top drawer.
The flooring, cabinets and and appliances perform as promised.
We have yet to see any cracks or nail pops in the wall board. We receive many compliments in the amazing appearance of the home.
We are thankful to the RCI team for producing such an exceptional product with such professionalism.

Beautiful homes

If you like to ve treated like dirt and want a cheap built house sold at a high price these are your people. I had the worst experience ever buying a house. Good luck with dealing with Teresa. No people skills at all. If you are thinking of buying from them i invite you to visit my house after 1 year warranty is up.

The WORST builder in this area. They built my house over 15 years ago and I'm still finding short cuts they took and shotty work that I have to continuevto fix. Examples -- nails in bathrooms, kitchen not galvanized so the moisture is popping out the sheetrock. Front porch posts stuck in ground and not cemented, so had to be removed because they were not stable. I could go on and on. Bottom line, if you see Emerald Homes is the builder, run in the opposite direction!

Emerald contracts out most or all of everything they do. 1 month after we moved in, our main shower upstairs started leaking into our ceiling and down through our walls. We needed to replace 1/4 of our ceiling on the living room and 1/4 of the wall and part of the wood floors. They paid for it but it was a nuisance for a couple of weeks while they repaired. Recently we found that our counter tops were installed incorrectly and we can't install backsplash without having the counter tops fixed first. Some of our hallway walls are STILL crooked...

Bryan Mohr talked to us about how great Emerald was and how they took their time on everything. How they put Craftmanship into their work. It is clear that is not true. Emerald Homes is no better than any other LOW-END home builder who cuts corners to make a quick buck. My home is ONLY in better shape because I have fixed things on my own or have hired professionals who actually do a great job to do work that I need. I'm not sorry we had this home built because we like our neighborhood, I'm sorry we listened to Bryan Mohr or ANYONE at Emerald Homes, they all fed us lines of garbage.
