Tim Folland at Dinosaur Heating & Cooling has been our sole heating and cooling specialist for the past seven years. My husband and I own three 125+ year old multi unit buildings in Portland, and there’s always some need for Tim’s expertise. We’ve relied on Tim for projects large and small over the years — from installing heat pumps and new gas boiler systems, to installing gas and electric water heaters and dishwashers, and maintaining our nine different heating systems (heat pumps, oil AND steam!) in our three properties. Tim is experienced, reliable, responsive, very easy to work with, and we totally trust Tim with all of our heating and cooling needs!

We’ve been working with Tim for years both at our business and at home. Tim is prompt and responsive and has helped us navigate everything from large hvac projects to small repairs. Six years ago Tim switched the heating in my house from oil to gas. He added two new radiators as well as two new heat pumps to the many already existing radiators. My neighbor, a contractor, recommended him and showed me the work he did at another house. While my realtor had another HVAC professional in mind, whom I never met, I’m glad I chose Tim. He was always on time, very neat with the equipment and pleasant to be around. The two times there have been problems with the system he has responded to me promptly and come over in a timely manner and left with the problem solved.

If you’re looking for someone to install your heat pump HVAC system, Tim is simply the best. He’s been outstanding from day one—always prompt, reliable, and incredibly helpful with the few minor issues we’ve had. His dedication and expertise make him our go-to guy. We won’t go anywhere else. Lifelong customer here!

I texted Tim on a Saturday night regarding my boiler (the burner was off). He responded to my text quickly and explained what the issues could be. With his input, and a change of thermostat batteries, the burner came back on. He also offered to come over and check it out that night or on Sunday. Thank you, Tim, for your responsiveness, your knowledge, and for the peace of mind in knowing that you’re only a phone call or text away!

Very quick to respond to my call, came same day to look it over, prepared an estimate and returned to do the work the following week. Tim and his helper (both licensed to work on natural gas boilers) replaced my old hot water tank, added a mixing valve, a second expansion tank and replaced a few other valves. Excellent work ethic and quality work done.

Tech was friendly, knowledgeable, and did the repair that the age of the system warranted — clearly and fairly explaining the "by-the-manual" option and the (much cheaper for me) option he recommended. He patiently answered other questions about my system and what I might expect going forward. Will use them and recommend them for any home maintenance needs!

The service guy was nice, efficient and quick. Just a bit pricey. Had my furnace cleaned 1.5 years ago for 125. This time 250. I know inflation has gone through the roof on everything but double in 1.5 years....

Jake came highly recommended from both a general contractor that we use, and multiple members of the community...could not be happier with the result.

He worked with me to get exactly what I wanted, even though he hadn't previously installed one of the Honeywell whole home humidifier setups. That, with the new natural gas tankless water heater, and the fancy new thermostat to keep tabs on everything, leave my partner and I very happy. We can now run our central blower, without heat, to circulate humid air throughout the home - the houseplants already love it!

Communication is incredibly prompt, shows up when expected, and works cleanly to get everything done.

We recently had a brand-new propane heating system installed by Dirigo Mechanical, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. Their team was professional, arrived right on time, and kept the work area neat, clean, and organized throughout the installation.

Ryan fixed our heat pump and did such a great job. After using two other companies prior to trying Dirigo, I can confidently say I will not use anybody else. The first company I tried could not figure out what was going on. The second company Tried to just tell me I needed a brand new heat pump Or to replace the computer board. (Very expensive) Whereas Ryan figured out the problem and potentially saved me from paying 2300 for a repair with another well known company that would not have even fixed the problem. So grateful!

Jake and Ryan arrived on time and were very efficient. The heat pump looks great and is easy to operate and the outside work was very neat too. 5/5 would recommend to anyone looking.

Nick did an outstanding job with my AC tune-up. He was professional, on time, and took the time to explain everything he was doing in a way that actually made sense. You can tell he really knows his stuff and cares about doing the job right, not just rushing through it. I feel a lot more confident heading into the warmer months. He was also super respectful of my home and left everything clean when he finished. If you’re looking for someone reliable and knowledgeable, I’d definitely recommend asking for Nick. Great experience all around.

We had a great crew from Doghouse install our new Rinai furnace. Brian L., JohnS. And Cole provided great support for Alex T. who is a true plumbing artist!

Josh from Dog House Plumbing came today to fix my low water pressure issue. He was very professional, a very hard worker, informed me of everything he was doing, and was very personable.

I wouldn't hesitate to have him here again. He represented what you would hope to have in any repairman.

The Doghouse guys were delayed in getting to my house because of an accident on the highway. It was a full day job To remove and replace the old oil tank but Alex T. and crew stayed late to finish it. Neat and professional under less than ideal conditions considering I have a dirt basement, narrow doorways and an old narrow stairway.
