People actually answered the phone and we're very pleasant. They sent a person out the same day, ordered parts and were here within a week. 2 very nice young men came right away in the morning and stayed till it was fixed. Highly recommend this company.

We have worked with BTU many times over the years, and they have never let us down! Through the installation of a new unit, to routine service and maintenance, to even an emergency, BTU performs at the highest levels and takes care of their customers! AND that goes for the office staff and the field techs: such an amazing team! I highly recommend!

Edit: Just want to add that BTU did acknowledge my issues and even provided some compensation for having to clean the carpet. The woman I spoke to in office and on the phone was polite about the whole situation. I believe that the proper response to the issues deserves credit.
It’s not very often I would do this, but I’m pretty irritated by several issues including the new AC not working for the hottest weekend of the summer. Then after calling BTU’s after hours emergency line this weekend when waking up to 86 degrees 🥵 inside my house, then not receiving a call back, I have to submit a review. They had just recently installed a new AC unit and definitely disappointed. First off I paid 1/2 the $4k last fall and was told they would reach out this spring to schedule the install. Well, I never did get a call and ended up having to call them 3 times to finally set a date as summer drew near. We set a date for 5/28 and I took PTO to be home that day. On 5/27 I was called and they elect me know they planned on being on site 5/29. Not sure where this mix up was, but I scheduled my PTO while I was on the phone scheduling the appointment for 5/28. Anyway, they worked around the issue and 2 guys came on 5/28. I was told it was a 4 hour job. It ended up taking all day and still wasn’t done. 2 extra trips were needed. The next 2 trips I wasn’t home, so whoever was here decided it was ok to walk through my house with muddy boots. I mean this is fine if I don’t care about the carpet, but I do especially seeing as it’s brand new carpet. I really do appreciate having to shampoo the carpet seeing as it was too much of a hassle for the techs to take their boots off.
Anyway, moving forward… (Keep in mind my last AC unit was working fine. Just old and original to the house) I spoke with the tech on the 3rd day to ask what was going on. He told me he had to go buy 2 fuses because for some reason they were blown and he found the thermostat wire wasn’t connected at the condenser. He finally got it working and that was it. I spent some time cleaning up after their mess and was glad it was finally competed… or was it? Well, I hadn’t used the AC because temps were nice until this past weekend reaching up over 90 degrees. Perfect time to test the new AC unit right? Well, it did blown cold, then warm, and cold, then finally only warm Sunday morning when I woke up sweating. I called BTU and it went to their answering service which gave an emergency number to call. I called and left a message. After 2 hours, no call back so I decided to look at it myself. First I noticed that when turning on the AC the fan didn’t kick on, but a relay would click. I went to the electric service (where the 2 fuses were replaced) and checked for 240 Vac. I had 240 coming in but then after the fuses one line had 120 while the other line was low and bouncing around. I went to check the fuse for that line and this is when I found that the fuse holder had been damaged. This caused the fuse to not hold properly and fit loose. Not sure how this wasn’t caught by the tech, but I corrected it and got the condenser working again. After this, I decided to check the rest of their work. When I went to look and where they cut and installed the new evaporator coil/sheet metal, I found a lot of cold air leaks. Basically I was losing more cold air here than would blown from a vent. The sheet metal was not sealed anywhere, just screwed on. There was and extra hole where the pipes went through and just left blowing cold air out. I ended up correcting that as well because I still had not received a call back from their emergency line. So, I had to fix the electrical issue, shampoo my new carpet, seal area around the evaporator coil, add insulating to the pipe outside feeding the condenser, and clean up the floors downstairs where their worked/walked.
All in all, I extremely disappointed with how this entire process went down. Definitely would not recommend BTU to any friends or family. I also have yet to get a call back. -
So nice to get that hometown service! Our AC wasn't working properly so called BTU as they had originally installed our unit when we built our house! Technician was here that day to inspect! Recommended a new install! Following week Cole came to do estimate and witin 2 weeks we had cool air again! From start to finish everyone was friendly and professional! Cole even called 1 week after install to make sure everything was going well!! Love that hometown care!! We wouldn't go anywhere else for our heating and cooling needs!

My central air went out in the hot, humid heat of summer, and I was bracing myself for the worst—both in cost and experience. But from the moment I called Hometown Heating and Cooling, I knew I was in good hands. Rusty and Ryan were prompt, professional, and most importantly—honest.
What really stood out was their integrity and transparency. They clearly walked me through the pros and cons of repairing vs. replacing, with no pressure either way. They laid out every cost up front, explained the reasoning behind each option, and gave me the space to make the best decision for my home and budget. That kind of straightforward, trustworthy service is rare these days—and incredibly refreshing.
The techs were courteous, efficient, and took the time to answer all my questions. I never once felt rushed or upsold. In the end, I felt confident in the decision I made, and the work was done perfectly.
If you’re looking for an HVAC company that treats you like a person and not just a paycheck, this is the one. I wouldn’t hesitate to call them again or recommend them to family and friends. A+ all around! -
Great to work with. Took care of all details with quick response due the cold weather. Anyone having heating or cooling problem these are the guys to call.

Hometown is a completely trustworthy company. I have been experiencing error codes and intermittent stoppages with my a/c. Rusty and the technician diligently worked through the problem with tech support instead of just replacing parts. You can trust this company to be professional and fair.

We needed to replace our AC unit and wanted to have the furnace moved from upstairs down into the basement. Pointon has been our service provider for at least 15 years, maybe longer. We received a quote for the task and were ready and excited to be getting a new system. Bernie, Ben, Spencer and Riley (JT did the estimate) were AWESOME! They did an excellent job and made sure things were done properly. The job took a few days longer than they anticipated and Bernie did have to work one morning alone, but the professionalism and attention to details was outstanding. I strongly recommend Pointon Heating & AC to anyone who wants quality work done.

I would give them 6 stars if I could. I was in a bind because a different company failed to show and rescheduled repeatedly. One phone call to Pointon and 30 minutes later there was a technician at my business. Professional, courteous, AC inspection was completed quickly. I wish I had called them first but I know I will call them next.

I highly recommend the jonshon brothers. Work was quickly done and professional. Right on buget. Spotted a safety probably with the old equipment and fixed it as if it was their own home.I am enjoying my new furnace. Service was much better than I would have gotten in my old house in Madison.
