Ken and his guys were on time and were able to understand, evaluate and decide what was needed and how it was going to be completed. They removed an old door and frame. Installed a new door/frame to a perfect fit. They also made a repair on the garage outside wall and it looks great! I thought I had to replace some of my porch flooring they realized it just needed reinforcing. Saved me some money with their excellent evaluation. I will be keeping their number. Thank you

When I needed to find an emergency handyman due to a plumbing issue in the wall behind my kitchen, I contacted Ken at ProActiv through a referral from Angi. Ken came the next day to assess the situation, which, it turned out, was complicated: it included deinstalling a custom sink cabinet fitted into the small corner of my kitchen to accommodate a dishwasher, which the plumber who was going to do the other part of the work said would probably be demolished and I would need to do a soft remodel. Ken spent time thinking through how to deinstall and save everything in my kitchen - ultimately he also needed to figure out how to re-drywall due to the vintage building and the way the plumbers opened up the wall. Four sessions later with careful work, my kitchen is back to its original state (and even better with a careful fresh paint job!) Ken is careful, thoughtful, punctual, and an all around great person to work with. Highly recommended!

The gangway gate that ProActiv Prevention installed looks great and keeps my dog from escaping. Ken came out once to take measurements and returned with John to build the gate. These gentlemen are polite and professional. I am very pleased with their work.

Proactiv Prevention exceeded my expectations!
I had a long list of things I needed fixed which included electrical, plumbing, & hardware/light carpentry. Dre did a phenomenal job knocking everything off my list of things to be fixed. Ken is a highly skilled and extremely reliable handyman. We have used him for a variety of projects both large and small, including installations of a bathroom vanity/sink, large oversize mirrors, and lighting fixtures, as well as electrical wiring, caulking, doors, and more. He is thorough and always extremely prompt, and his company follows up to make sure that things are still working well after the job is completed. He also gives excellent advice before he undertakes a project, so there are no surprises. Highly, highly recommended!

I requested vendor bids via Angi, and they were not only the first to reach back out to me (highly responsive throughout), but also did so with the professionalism and thoughtfulness regarding my project(s) that I appreciate. Janae and Ken were my primary points of contact throughout, and Ken and Marcus completed the work, specifically hanging 15 art pieces, 2 of which required mounting on steel studs in a high rise; they also installed a new accordion sliding closet door that came with very poor instructions from Wayfair, and required them to evaluate the most appropriate course to get the job done. They were efficient, engaged me appropriately throughout to confirm my preferences, and overall very professional. Ken from Proactive Prevention was a total professional and honestly, a bit of a hero. The original plan was to replace a ceiling fan on a 16-foot ceiling. Ken showed up fully prepared, got everything set up and then the new fan didn’t work. Not exactly what either of us expected.

On the spot, Ken got on the phone with the manufacturer and arranged for a replacement part to be sent out. When the part arrived, he came back, climbed all the way back up, and installed it - still no luck. Instead of calling it quits, Ken helped me get a full replacement for the defective fan.

When that arrived, he returned again, set up everything one more time, and finally got the new fan installed and running smoothly.

Ken climbed up to that 16-foot ceiling three separate times to make sure the job was done right. His follow-through, problem-solving, and steady confidence throughout made all the difference. I’m really grateful for his effort and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.
