I hired Chicago Handy for drywall repair and painting work in my condo, and I’m very satisfied with the results. The work involved repairing damaged plaster/drywall and repainting, and everything was done carefully and thoroughly.

They took the time to do the job correctly rather than rushing it, and the finished product blends seamlessly with the surrounding ceiling and walls. Communication was clear throughout the process, expectations were set upfront, and the pricing was fair for the amount of labor involved.

I appreciated their attention to detail and professionalism, especially on an older building where these repairs aren’t always straightforward. I would definitely use Chicago Handy again and would recommend them to anyone needing drywall repair or painting work in Chicago.

Outstanding company. Norbert (owner) responds to inquires and requests in a timely and efficient manner (including scheduling). This company is opposite of the “nobody wants to do my home improvement job”. They will do pretty much any project within reason. They have helped me with so many different projects—big/complicated and fast/easy. Norbert always sends the right team (or comes himself) and the job is done right the first time. It is great to see a business in our community providing excellent customer service and topnotch work. I also really appreciate that Norbert personally calls and checks at end of project to solicit feedback and make sure we are satisfied!

We had an excellent experience with Chicago Handy and highly recommend them. Norbert made scheduling and payment seamless, and Daniel did a fantastic job at our home handling drywall repair, baseboards, tile and grout, and wallpaper repair. He arrived on time, worked quickly and professionally, paid great attention to detail, and made sure everything was done right. He was also incredibly kind and respectful of our home, even taking care around our animals, which we truly appreciated. We are extremely satisfied with the results and will absolutely be using Chicago Handy again.

Great experience with ProActiv Prevention!

We have been using ProActiv Prevention for years now and Ken is the absolute best! He is always incredibly responsive and quick to respond to issues (typically within days of calling). He is our go-to-handyman in Chicago and does excellent work. He has refinished our butcher block island, patched/painted drywall, fixed a dishwasher that was not properly installed, fixed leaky toilets/faucets and more. I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking for a reliable repair company- he is by far the best I have encountered!

As someone who is not new to the world of hiring contractors/ handymen, I have to say the team at Proactiv is hands down one of the best companies I’ve had the good luck to work with.

In my experience, 99% of companies are only able to hit 2/3 qualities: cheap, good, or fast. Somehow Ken and Janea are able to hit all 3 and the standard that they hold their work to is unparalleled.

Not only are they patient and extremely hyper-responsive, but Ken is specifically someone who is adamant about doing work properly, and in a way that I know isn’t just cutting corners to hit a deadline - something I’m very focused on (and thankful for!) as I get complex work done at my property.

I will 100% be hiring the team for further projects and would give more than 5 stars if I could. If you’re looking for quality professionals who do phenomenal work at a fair price, I very highly recommend you go with Proactiv.

I cannot recommend ProActiv Prevention enough. The entire experience is world class from executing the coordination, scheduling, billing with Janea to working with Ken on my condos fixes and projects. I feel like I'm working with a caring family over a big corporate entity. I won't consider working with anyone else.

Our oven broke the week before Thanksgiving and we needed help swapping our old cooktop out for a new freestanding range. Not a difficult job in theory, but our weird old house presented lots of obstacles. Ken got back to us the same day and went out of his way to come out at 7am Tuesday so we’d have a few days to prep for Thanksgiving. He did a great job working around our weird old house issues to get the oven safe and functional ASAP, and answered all of our questions about long term projects to correct our house’s quirks. Very professional and very friendly, will absolutely use ProActiv again!
