Very impressed with not only the services, but their professionalism. They helped install drywall, and were great at communicating the progress to us. I will be using them again for future homeowner projects I have not had the time for. Highly recommend!

Our handyman Andre arrived on time and completed the jobs in a timely manner. He installed 2 ceiling fans, installed a chain link fence gate latch and fixed another gate latch. We were able to go shop for the gate hardware while he started installing the ceiling fans. Andre was friendly and accommodating while working around our toddler and rambunctious dogs. We thought the rates were reasonable and we would be happy to use Ace Handyman services again in the future.

This review is long overdue but I'm so happy I hired Ace Handyman Services to repair my drywall installation. I had a basement flooding which resulted in my drywall being removed.

Linda, the office manager, was so professional and she answered all my questions. She made sure I was aware of the work schedule, estimate cost changes and addressed any concerns I had.

The contractor assigned to my drywall installation, Vernice, did a WONDERFUl job with the drywall installation and painting. I couldn't even tell that half the drywall was ripped out previously!

Unfortunately, the contractor who work on wall trim work was less than satisfactory. Vernice came in for final touches and he follow-up on my behalf. I expressed my concerns to Linda as well and she assured that all the issues will be addressed promptly. They both was so great in fixing the problems and listening to my concerns. I would definitely worked with Ace Handyman Services again.

Have used Ace several times in past year for various projects on a dated property. Very pleased with service in so many areas - laundry floor installation and wood floor repair, lighting installation and new switches, minor repairs to cabinetry and installation of flower boxes. High quality and skilled work. Most important for me, Ace makes it right. Did have one unsatisfactory experience out of so many positives (things happen), and the response to correct the situation was truly above and beyond. That experience is actually why I am writing this review. Ace clearly values the customer. Office support (Martha!!!) is the best. I'll be back.

After having a bad experience with a different handyman that we had to fire before finishing our tile floor in our new laundry, we were nervous about hiring someone else. But after the great response and customer service from Ace Handyman Services, and meeting Jose, we felt completely comfortable and happy hiring him to fix what was done wrong and finish the rest of our laundry renovation, as well as a few other projects. I highly recommend Jose for any projects around the house. Great prices, professional and efficient, with high quality work.

I would definitely recommend using Ace. I got a call back right away to schedule from Linda, who was a polite, clear and prompt communicator. I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to fit me in within a few days of calling. Other places a called were booked out for weeks. Further, they were great about giving a fair, transparent estimate of costs. Other places I called would've charged an exspensive service fee just to come out for an estimate. However, with Ace, I was able to describe/email info about my repairs, and they very easily drew up the estimate. The two craftmans who came arrived right on time, they were friendly, and they listened well to what I needed. They were patient in explaining the work that had been done and answering all my questions. They were also very knowledgeable. One final thing that I liked was they let me do the shopping for the project myself, instead of charging while they went out to shop. We realized right away something was needed for one of the projects, so I was able to run out and get it, while they completed the other projects. Overall, a fair and well-run business! I would recommend them and use their services again!

I had some drywall repaired and paint retouched and the team was so wonderful! Linda made sure everything was scheduled and gave me informative estimates while checking in each day. Harley and team were professional, prompt, and walked me through all the work they did as well. They also installed some blinds for me and they look great. I will definitely use them again!

Ace sends qualified handymen to your house for odd jobs. They charge an hourly rate and guarantee the work product.

Ace did an excellent job, and even though they had to come back to tweak a repair they made, I was not charged extra for the work.

If you book with them, just make sure to pre-buy all the materials in advance to make efficient use of their time.

I do recommend using the service if you can’t perform the work yourself.

We had Ace handyman services come out to help us with remodeling one of our bathrooms. It was one of the original builder models and needed an upgrade. The team came out worked with us on a design and timeline and completed the job on time and on budget. They were clean, quick and professional. I would highly recommend using them for any other projects I have coming up.

This was the first time I used this company and I am really impressed.
The repair person I had was Andre, he is very well trained craftsman and did the job perfectly, also he was willing to answer all my questions. He was respectful to my house and cleaned up any mess that was made. I would definitely use ACE Handyman Serving again.

I had a new washer/dryer unit being delivered and on the day of delivery the crew couldn’t install it because the existing dryer vent wasn’t up to code. I panicked and called anyone and everyone I could find but even dryer companies didn’t repair vents the way that I needed. Anyone that could help was booked weeks out! I was pleasantly surprised when I got through to Linda at Ace. She was so kind, empathetic, and worked me into the schedule for an estimate the very same day! The field supervisor Harley came out and gave me an extremely detailed explanation of the service, process, pricing and how they would execute the project start to finish - including drywall removal and patch/sand/prime! I felt very confident in knowing the work that would be done, and the crew was super flexible even with getting a tech scheduled. Jose was awesome and completed all of the work exactly as expected and in alignment with the estimate! He was super accommodating, informative and made sure the work was done to my liking before he left. Overall, Ace delivering outstanding service and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them or use them again anytime I’ve got house projects I just can’t manage on my own!

Andre is fantastic! He installed an 8,000 BTU AC window unit for me today. I was the annoying person who asks the contractor to cut pieces of wood to custom-fit the gaps on the sides, because I keep it in year round and I want to weather block it for energy efficiency, and he did a perfect job. Andre was quick, thorough and precise, but also CLEAN, taking care that the old unit didn't leak water all over my floor and also cleaning up the area when he was through. He even taped around the wood pieces to ensure a completely weather-blocked fit. He was super pleasant and professional and I appreciate his attention to detail and going above and beyond. I would hire him for any future tasks in a heartbeat. Speaking on the company itself, I like that they send you confirmation texts the night before a service appointment so there is never any doubt, and when the contractor is on their way, you can track it on your phone. I feel that the value of this service was well worth the money spent - and they charged me well under what other companies have billed for similar jobs. 10/10 recommend.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I am writing this so that no one else makes the mistake of hiring this company for their home. My project with this company was very basic, and something most people would even do on their own without hiring a professional. Yet, it ended in a broken front door and a lot of frustration for me. I am glad this wasn’t a larger and more complicated project, because I cannot imagine the disaster I would be in now if that were the case. Here is a breakdown of my experience, and I hope it helps you make a decision about the company you use for your project. My front door was never installed correctly, and that being the case there has been gaps around the door letting air into my house. Luckily, this is an easy fix, all I needed to do is get some weather stripping and seal the door. This is a project most people would do on their own and shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes. Unfortunately I am not handy at all, so I called Handyman matters. They started off very professional and explaining the process and I was excited to get moving along. I then received my quote to put weather stripping on the door at an estimated time of 2 ½ hours. A little excessive but I agreed because they seemed nice, and sounded like they knew what they were doing. Unfortunately this was not the case. The employee arrived at my home and seemed confused about how he would accomplish this “difficult” task. He then went to the store which is down the block from me and spent an hour and a half on the clock searching for tools. When he returned he took over 4 hours adjusting and readjusting the weather stripping. The whole time he would mutter to himself words such as “no that’s not right, oops, ugh, why isn’t this working, now I have to do this again, what am I doing wrong, etc.” Finally he said he was finished and took off. Unfortunately we did not examine the door before he left, which is our fault for not doing. When we did examine it we noticed that the weather stripping did not achieve its goal, there was actually more space around our door than there originally was, and on top of that the door would no longer close properly. The company then wanted to charge me for a total of 4 ½ hours even though the estimate was only for 2 ½ hours. This goes against their websites price guarantees, but they do not care. Eventually they agreed to come and fix the door 2 weeks later. Not surprisingly the same guy showed up not knowing what he was doing and accomplished nothing. They then wanted to charge me for that visit as well. So now they expect me to pay over 6 ½ hours of work for a job that should take no longer than 30 minutes by a competent worker. Even if the job was actually completed they should respect their price guarantee, and their 1 year free fixes guarantee. This is besides for the fact that the job has still not been completed correctly and my door is actually worse off than before. They refused to fix the issue again which is against their policies, and wanted to charge me more than my estimated costs which is also against their policies. Luckily after fighting to keep them from charging me more they agreed to settle at the original estimated cost. I highly recommend finding another company for your project. You will be quite upset if you move forward with this company and will regret not listening to this review.

Disappointed in the quality of the work on our kitchen backsplash replacement project. Our project coordinator, Charles, was very helpful, but after initial “completion” of the project there were several issues with the craftsmanship and finishing of the project, and even after resolving those initial issues we continue to find small problems down the line like sloppy tile cutting, grouting, and painting.

Working with Elmer and Aaron on my recent bathroom remodel was great. They got right to work, answered all my questions about the process, kept me updated throughout the project, and now I have a beautiful new bathroom. Would definitely hire Ace for future projects.

2/18/26 - Leo came to my house today to repair our garage service door. It was falling off the hinges. Leo was very nice and respectful. He explained everything he did. I highly recommend Leo and Ace Handyman Services.

Norbert and Zibi were great - very responsive and professional. They repaired damage to the plaster and repainted. I would use them again.

Chicago Handy is great. I own a Handyman business in Arizona and I needed some help with a tenant in one of my rental units in Chicago. Chicago Handy was extremely responsive. They also made suggestions where my tenant could’ve fixed the problem and we could’ve not paid them. It wasn’t in their best interest, but it was in my best interest. However, they recommended that just because they thought that was the right thing to do. When they went to the rental unit because my tenant couldn’t fix it, they were efficient and professional. I can’t recommend them enough. If you need a handyman in Chicago, I suggest reaching out to them!

We just had multiple areas of water damage repaired or replace from the past two years of various leaks in the house. We are incredibly happy with our choice of Chicago Handy. Marek did a fantastic job with above and beyond service and skilled recommendations along the way. Our house walls and ceiling now look as good as new. I hired Norbert because of the sheer quantity of five star reviews he has been given and WOW I was NOT disappointed! Excellent craftsmanship, easy to communicate with, I got the exact woodworking results I was looking for, fair pricing, to the minute on time and I will definitely use Norbert again and again. We've had Norbert come and do work for us three times now. He has installed a range hood, handrails on stairs, cabinet handles, and outdoor light fixtures for us. He is a great value, professional, and leaves no trace behind. Can't recommend him enough.
