Plumbers showed up late. One was professional the other had a severe attitude problem! They did not take off the work boots or cover them when entering the house.
The rude one kept bossing me around like I wasn’t paying them $360/hour.
I saw some decent +ve reviews from other customers so I figured to give them a try. They seemed to know what they were doing but the attitude was unbearable after a while.
I cancelled the work after 35 mins paid them $360 for their diagnostic work. Now I’m looking for a professional sewer team

We have hired power plumbing a while back for a couple different jobs and they have done a good job in the past. But their customer service has really deteriorated lately. We've been trying to get an estimate on a water issue for over 2 months now (since June!) and they continue to say their estimators will call us but the estimators never call. Each time we call to follow up they say "we're sorry but it's just been really busy." I totally understand being busy but it's been over 2 months now without a call back or estimate. Very frustrating...

I recently used Power Plumbing and they impressed me so much I will be a customer for life. Not only were they able to come out same day and fix all my small projects around the house, the technician was quick to point out easy workarounds for many of my issues that not just resolved the issues, but saved me money. Recently I had another issue that I called them about, instead of sending out a tech and billing me- they reached out to their team with my issues and called me back to give me some instructions to try on my own to see if I could resolve it myself. Lo and behold, their tips were right and they saved me time/money/frustration once again. Honest, fast, great value- can't recommend them enough.

This is a long overdue review! We have been relying on Power Plumbing for over 16 years. Without exception, they have always been on time and very personable. They show you what is wrong and explain options so you can choose what works best for you; they even will work to help you find solutions to what is causing your problems (if you cause them yourself, like I often do). From the first phone call (Rae - spelling?) to the arrival and execution, they are top notch! Special shout out to Tony who has been to our place previously and has always been exceptional. If I could, I'd multiply my rating by 5 because it's been at least that many times they have taken care of us. Highly recommend!

Set appointment. Confirmed appointment. Didn't show up. Super unprofessional. But they were "very sorry." Buyer beware! And re. the response: LOVE the sarcasm! Just glad to point out to others what kind of company you are. Ugh.

I first used the service of Power Plumbing over 10 years ago. They were recommended by the company who serviced my kitchen cabinets. I had always wanted a dishwasher and had been told by 3 different plumbers that it couldn't be done because of the location of my pipes.
Jason from Power Plumbing came to my home and stated calmly, "It can be done." In the 8 years that I had that dishwasher I never had a problem. And so when I decided to upgrade my appliances, I called Power again and requested Jason. Once again Jason installed my new dishwasher with no problem.
Over the past years whenever I have had a plumbing issue I do not hesitate to call Power Plumbing. Each service technician has not only been professional, but courteous and respectful of my home. And that is very important to me.
Although I have never met Rae personally, I feel that she is committed to making sure her customers are satisfied and goes that extra mile to insure that is the final result.
I most definitely recommend this company!

Power Plumbing and Sewage easily found and fixed the cause of a sewer gas smell we had due to improperly installed pipes. Previous plumbers I called were stumped and waved it off.

The scheduler was upfront about hours and rates, which was appreciated, and she was pleasant to work with.

Joe and Eric were professional, friendly and had a great deal of experience.

Very professional, resourceful, helpful and punctual. They get things done quickly and effectively. Highly recommend them.

Mysterious labor charges and do not respond to questions. I received a bill where the charges just say $2,400 for labor. No hourly rates listed or hours spent. Curious on how that number came to be I contacted them and have been ignored. My condo building had a leak and they called Power Plumbing on a Friday evening about 6pm. They cut into a couple walls and turns out they had to replace a bad gasket on my toilet (low complexity work). Maybe two hours of work? That's about $1,000 an hour. Forget law school kids go to plumbing school!

Fantastic service from the team. Great work and appreciate the detail. You are charged a premium of $200 an hour for general plumbing service as of may 2025, so be prepared to pay for the cost. If price is not an issue, you will love their service!

We've used this company so many times in the past with good results, but now that they're charging $200 to come out and give an estimate, I think we are done.
The other 2 companies we called charged 1/3 of that for a 15 min estimate and will be applying the credit to our bill if we hire them for the job. Not sure when this new policy started but unfortunately, we can't afford to pay $200 for just a quote in this economy.
I wish they'd mentioned that when I called to make the appointment instead of springing it on us when it was too late to do anything about it!

How about you show the person your bill and not blame the management company? Email the person the bill would take less time then your pity explanation. Nice passing the buck. You are not a company any condo association should use. Stay far away!
Don't let them in your building; they mess up my kitchen when I wasn't home trying to play Plummers.

We had Steve, avoid at all costs. A very long and Inefficient process of replacing our toilet where we paid dearly for his trial and error. The cherry on top was the final day where he had to come back three times to fix a leak. Left saying “all set” each time, ha.

Power Plumbing - people you can’t count on. Called their emergency line. Followed up after 1/2 hour with no call back. No one ever bothered to call back. Time was, this was a great company. Not anymore.

If you want to go for excellence, go with Taffe. They're head and shoulders above the rest. Quick to grasp the problem and bring it to resolution. Professional, pleasant, and effective. They show up, and their work stands up.

This company responds promptly with qualified plumbers. I've been a satisfied customer for years as an owner of a dental practice and commercial property. I love Taffe Plumbing.

Great team! My building recommends Taffe Plumbing as they are familiar with old buildings. They have serviced my building for years. We just moved to the area a year ago and had some leak issues. Our pipes are old. They were amazing. A few issues arose during the job and they were very clear about explaining the issue and what work needed to be done, how much it would cost, etc. I know we’ll be needing them again in the near future (the joys of home owning) and now I know their amazing quality and work ethic. I hired C F Taffe Plumbing Co. to deal with a drain fly problem, and the entire visit was a complete waste of money. In my personal experience, they charged a sky-high rate and did practically nothing. The plumber showed up, shined a flashlight down the drain, and said he “didn’t see anything.” That was the extent of the inspection. No attempt to snake the drain, no meaningful troubleshooting—nothing.

I later called a different plumber who actually did the job properly and immediately found a deep hair clog where the drain flies had built a nest. That’s what should have been done the first time.

I also asked C F Taffe’s plumber to tighten my disposer because it was leaking, and even that was done incorrectly. I ended up having to hire another plumber to fix what should have been a simple task.

At the rate they charged, the end result for me was the same as if I had just thrown my money away. This service was, in my opinion, careless, overpriced, and completely ineffective. If you’re in the Chicago area, I strongly recommend calling literally anyone else.
