UPDATE:

Just to clarify, All-Star Heating & Air Conditioning is Service Now Home Services, or at least that's where the Website redirects to. If that hasn't confused you enough when you call the All-Star Heating & Air Conditioning number you might have previously had it goes to Perfect Home Services which is another HVAC Company.

The original Owner was Greg who was a local Dekalb business owner. Greg retired and sold the business to Jason who owned JNJ Heating and Air Conditioning in the Fox Valley area looking to expand in the Dekalb/Sycamore area. A few years later Jason sold the business and did not let any of his Customers know.

The story ends there. It's not the same anymore and you don't get the same personalized service you did from local small business owner IMO. If you want to continue to support local small businesses, there are other small business HVAC companies local in the Dekalb/Sycamore area. See my other Review for a recommendation. I had a review for All-Star but since the company is basically defunct, I removed it since it is no longer relevant. I took 1 Star off because Jason failed to contact anyone he was selling the business. At least Greg gave everyone about a year notice he was retiring.

Greg went above and beyond to help us out tonight. We were so impressed with his level of service. I bought the part we needed from him and after installing it I still had questions. He walked me through a couple of steps on the phone and then came over to help get the furnace going again when I couldn't. He was very patient and helpful. I would recommend his company to anyone who needs a heating contractor. I am so glad we called All-Star. We will call him again for future issues. - Chris

Our AC went out during the recent heat wave, and when I called All Star, Jason made time to come over within a couple of hours of my call. He did an inspection and we discussed options, then he prepared a quote that included the options and their respective price points. It was a very transparent and straightforward process. We decided to have the furnace and AC replaced, as they were both ancient. The installation was scheduled for the following week, and all was good, except that it was very hot in our house! The next day, Jason contacted me and offered us a loaner window AC unit. He delivered and installed it, and I'm here to tell you, it was a life saver!
When it came time for the installation, Justin and Travis arrived on schedule and did a great job. They were both knowledgeable, polite, considerate and respectful, and they worked very efficiently.

Dave helped us in an emergency, after hours, got us back up and cooling in under 2 hours. Highly recommend Dave. Also arrived on site very fast.

Great customer service. They installed our mini-split system a few years ago. I had some questions about our system during a very cold snap. A technician was sent out promptly and made sure everything was running properly. Everything was fine and he was very patient with my questions and concerns.

Greg was the technician from HERO. He was very thorough in performing our annual Fall furnace maintenance. He showed me all of the elements of the furnace he checked and showed me the photos he took. He was very good and great to work with.

The technician arrived as scheduled. He was polite and efficient. Answered all my questions, even helped me find a source for electronic air filters. I was grateful for his help. Asked again if I had anymore questions before he left. Very happy with HERO!!

HERO did a great job helping upgrade our HVAC system that was way outdated. The follow-up maintenance programs are a huge help. From checking out the furnace, to cleaning the AC, to clearing out dryer ducts they take care of it all. They gently "nag" to make sure I set up appointments on time. All of the people they send are great.

AC stopped blowing cold air on July 3rd. After the holiday I reached out to HERO and they were out within an hour. Friendly and knowledgeable. Fixed it with 10-15 minutes. All was cool after.

We have been clients of HERO for many years. We just replaced our furnace and central air. Dylan and Robert were absolutely amazing. They were right on time and them boys never stopped working till the job was complete. We were very impressed with their work and knowledge. Very disappointed with my service call today. I've been doing business with Hero Hearing for years and it seems under their new ownership they are very sneaky in the way they conduct themselves and the way they charge. I do not recommend them any longer. It's too bad they used to be really good!

We have used H.E.R.O. since we moved into our house 8 years ago ... they've always done a fantastic job helping keep our aging furnace & AC running well. Alas, it was time to replace the unit and the entire crew at H.E.R.O. have been fantastic to work with. Glenn & Cassie helped answer all my questions, we got a great price on a unit that will serve our needs for years to come, and the crews that came to install and service are always top-notch. Great communication. Through in their work. Taking the time to care for and protect floors, property, etc. I can't more highly recommend H.E.R.O. for all your HVAC & duct cleaning needs!

HERO has responded same day when we have had an issue. That means so much as it is usually a time when we need heat! Greg is a great technician and we appreciate his knowledge and efficiency.

Our technician Greg was extremely helpful and identify the problem very quickly. He also did a really good job, walking us through and explain the problem and how it’s caused and Also pointed out things to look for in the future. All in all, a great experience.

Just completed our annual furnace check. Robert did an efficient, thorough, and quality review of my Armstrong furnace. He was personable and professional. Robert provided me ample opportunity for questions and insured the furnace was operating before his departure.
