Charlie from John J. Cahill serviced both our air-conditioning and furnace today. (5/13/25)

He was on time, professional, knowledgeable, friendly, & courteous.

He explained both written and verbally what he did on each unit.

I know some people feel Cahill in Evanston is higher priced than other companies. However, having someone in your home you can trust, honest, and stands by their work is well worth it.

I have been a Cahill customer since 1989 when we bought our home. Charlie just serviced my AC unit which Cahill installed in 2022 after the old one broke. Dave has yearly worked on cleaning roots from our sewer pipes as well as interior projects. Also, we have our furnace maintenance done each year. Cahill is very reliable, trustworthy and gets the job done. Use them, they are the best!

Very upfront pricing, quick service during a hectic time with -10 degree temperatures, plumbing technician was very skilled and honest. Thanks Cahill!

Charley came to my home and quickly repaired my a/c unit. He was very knowledgeable, pleasant, and put up with my dog. The cost was pricey for someone in my condo building, but you pay for what you get! I got a very skilled and nice professional. 😊I’d give five stars, except for the price.

This is the worst, non responsible company imaginable. They charge a fee for coming out, 40 minutes late for their appointment, then you never hear from them again, they have your $99.00 hostage. Not professional, not responsible, not worth it!

John J. Cahill Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning is fantastic. It has serviced our house for 12 years and we have always found their employees to be reliable and responsive for both routine services and complicated projects. Most recently Tad from Cahill installed a new high efficiency Triangle Tube boiler for our radiator heat system. The boiler is connected to a "passive" hot water tank, which eliminates the need for a separate electric or gas hot water tank. Brilliant! Cahill also recently installed a hydronic (hot water) tubing-based radiant heating system to heat the floor in our remodeled kitchen (we didn't have the room for a radiator in the remodeled kitchen). This system also draws water from the Triangle Tube boiler. Also brilliant. The workmanship was excellent, and both run flawlessly. We also use the company for routine sewer maintenance. In short, we could not be happier with John J. Cahill's, Inc.'s service.

Called and asked for an estimate because my mom’s actuator on her HVAC unit went out. The call was made at 4 PM. They said that they would have to charge me the overtime rate which Over $400. Fair during regular hours. I then called another company that was able to diagnose and fix it. They charged $100 for the diagnosis. And they were open till 6 PM so you guys are rip off artist two stars so it’s harder to delete

Conrad P. did an amazing job - from the initial estimate to the actual install, the entire service was professional, efficient, and detailed. He took the time to explain possible causes, the reasoning for each, and the best path forward. He was courteous, mindful, and highly knowledgable. Communication was excellent and we especially appreciated that the same individual who did the estimate also was assigned the actual job. Highly recommended!

Our difficult-to-get-to furnace stopped working. The problem was carefully diagnosed and options were offered without pressure, just trustworthy wisdom. The repair was made and then well-tested. We appreciated the good communication, the prompt repair, the honest assessment and careful work. A great company.

I reserved my appointment online, When they called to confirm they were coming out, I had to reschedule—which we did for later that same day. Also, they sent the same tech who came out last time and that was really great. I got to see a familiar face and someone who actually knew a little bit about my house. The tech is excellent; he provides A+ customer service.

Eduardo was a god sent to me. His service was excellent. I enjoyed loved my experience with him. Roto-Rooter is so lucky to have an employee like Eduardo love him.

Matt was professional, knowledgeable, and proud of the successful job that was done. He explained everything that was being done and showed me everything that was done once the job was completed. Very smooth process.

I had a pipe burst late in Wednesday evening so I requested an appointment (via online) for the next morning. Chris B. arrived before our requested time and quickly evaluated the issue. He explained the fix and what the charges would be. He had us back up and working within an hour. He was very personable and professional. Thanks again!

Heto from Roto Rooter was amazing! We had a blockage of debris from both toilet buildup and sticks/twigs from storms, and he, with the assistance of a colleague, was able to clear everything within a few hours. I put a request in last night & Roto Rooter saved the day in less than 24 hrs. We have previously used this company, and with another great experience, we plan to use it again. Heto truly is the best! Thank you so much! 😁

Chris came out to my house today and did A+ work. He was professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. He answered my questions took care of problem in a timely manner. I highly recommend him to anyone and Roto-rooter just earned a client. Also, I would like to say Victor was a great help on a previous calls I highly recommend both gentlemen to anyone that needs professional service.

Chris was Very nice, neat and knowledgeable and professional. Didn't mind answering a million questions and did a great job and he didnt leave a mess.

He packed my old ejector pump up for me so that I could return it since it is practically new but the motor went out within months.

Erlin did a great job for us. He was efficient and personable. explaining everything very clearly and concisely. We could not have had a better experience.

The Roto process is just ok. Their prices are not the lowest and they did not let me know that I needed to have specific parts on site ahead of time. I had to door dash parts to my house from Home Depot during the service call, which was frustrating. The high review is completely attributed to the person who handled my call. Eddie was phenomenal as both a plumber and human. He talked to me like a friend, helped me understand the issues and did amazing work. I would highly recommend him.

Eduardo 5256 was very knowledgeable and trustworthy in addressing our water issues and giving us further guidance for next steps. He is also very personable, makes you want to pour up a cup of coffee and have a conversation. Nice experience, highly recommend his services!
