Constraction reviews in Greenwood, Indiana

One star because there is no option for zero
Money hungry - yes. Pool supplies are twice as much as anywhere else. When the no refund, no return policy on the receipt is longer than anything else on the paper, beware.
Customer service - no. Young female workers does not equal customer service
Honesty and integrity - none
Example A: When asked about pricing of liquid chlorine was told that their product is better than others. No, it is all 12.5% hypochlorite.
Example B: Then was told, “but other places sell it all year around and it degrades.” They sell it all year around.
Example C: A third employee says, “It only has a 30-day shelf life.” I then tell her that I am a chemical engineer and it has a shelf life longer than 30 days. She replies, “Well, it actually has longer but that is what we tell people.”
Paul and Angie Lauth are the owners. -
Where do I start. Need to set appointment up to inspect a inground pool-equipment and heater. Calling a month in advance and due to closing date we only have a few days to do this. Lady says we can’t guarantee a day???? 3 weeks out because of weather and blah blah. This lady was telling me everything she could besides telling me to go somewhere else. So I made one phone call to another good size company and easy as that the appointment is set with a guarantee that they will inspect everything rain or shine. Angie- you lost a lifetime customer that is in your backyard. Get a better customer service rep to answer phones. I can’t imagine how many customers you’ve lost from this person.

I have always been a fan of small businesses. Angie's Pool & Spa is great example of why I continue to shop small. They take time to answer all of your questions. They legitimately care about your needs. And let's be honest pools and spas always keep us guessing. If you are first time buyer of a pool or spa look no further. They will tell you everything you need to know and more. They always have the chemicals I need and at a fair price. There is no better place in my opinion...

Quoted a price but ended up paying double, they said I signed for all the upgrades but I thought I was signing just for my credit card. I asked just for closing, which I thought would include putting on the cover but that was 85$ extra. Never heard of closing a pool without putting on a cover. I totally understand that prices have gone up but in 29 years of having our pool closed with the cover on it has never been over 400$. Angie’s Pools have been around for years and they did a good job but they should have, that’s why people hire them but beware if all the upgrade prices!!!! Very disappointed!!!!

Love Angie’s. Testing is quick and simple. I know just what I need. Never pressured to buy “fluff” chemicals. Staff is super nice and helpful.

DO NOT USE THEM! I called Angie's pools last week to help with an algae problem they came out the next day which I was happy about. I was planning on them servicing my pool weekly from here on out and was hoping to have an on going relationship with them. After them vacuuming my pool and back washing they turned the filter back on and it shot around 6 gallons of sand back through my returns and into my pool. A few hours later I emailed them and sent pictures of what had happened. Josh called me the next day and said it was nothing they did, it was purely coincidence and that my laterals inside of my pump for cracked.
I called 2 other pool companies and asked then how this could happen and I was informed it was back washed incorrectly due to the fact I lost 3" of water in a big 20 by 40 pool which broke the laterals. My pool is only 2 years old and worked perfectly before they touched it. They refuse to do anything about it and the owner Angie is always unavailable or out of the office according to Josh. All I asked was for them to replace the laterals and fix my pool heater that also broke due to the sand being shot through all of the lines. They refuse! They would rather have negative reviews and bad publicity over a $150 in parts. That shows the true color of a company and how it's ran. -
Our family has been using Angie's Pool for nearly 25 years. They are the only ones we truly trust to give us accurate pool readings. And then, helping us clear up any problems the pool water may have. They don't try to get us to buy things we don't need. They are always friendly and helpful. We have recommended them to many friends. They are actually the furthest pool care place from us, but, in our opinion, it is very worth the drive.

Angie’s did an excellent job with our new pool liner installation!

We ended our long standing relationship with Angie's this summer for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, in a world filled with small business owners that are trying to do good work and be customer friendly, Angie's falls and has been falling way short. They overcharge for little work and their employees will tell you the same. Don't expect to speak to the owners when it comes to crunch time, they won't return emails or calls. Never took the time to invest in the quality of our pool with the in and out mentality. Switched to a company that is consciousness and thoughtful. Our pool has never looked better and smelled less like a gallon of bleach. Disappointing experience each and every year we hung in with them. Finally had enough. One star is one too many...

I had almost the EXACT same issue as Matt in the post below. I called to see if there was anything that could be done about my nearly new liner that was installed by angies, for a pool that was also installed by angies. They proceeded to tell me that there was nothing they could do except have the pool detective come out... again. I bought a new home less than 2 years ago and it had a new liner put in before purchase. It seems odd that the exact same issue happened to 2 people in the exact same time period when Angies installed new liners. They will make it sound like it is your fault and take no ownership of the issue or blame it on "ground water" that they cannot control. I was sold on doing a liner reset (I opted out of that option) and sounds like they would've ripped me for more money if I chose to do the reset and wouldn't have helped the issue. I am not too thrilled with the overpriced products and continued issues.

I’ve been using Angie’s for several years now and in general have been pleased with them, however I had them replace my liner in 2021 and it has been a terrible experience.
Short story: have spent $8300 and have a wrinkled liner that leaks.
Some details:
Liner installed summer 2021 and noticed leak that winter. Contacted them and was told probably a hole in winter cover with winter pump sucking water out.
Replaced winter cover for next year but had same issue.
Shallow end started wrinkling after they opened it this year.
Have had to spend money twice for a company to look for leaks ($850) and try to fix plus having liner reset ($2300).
After liner reset wrinkles came back and pool still leaks.
Leaks were found around skimmer plate and around steps - both places where liner supposed to be sealed.
I suspect the leak around steps could be why it wrinkled - water going right under steps and under liner.
I should have been better about noticing leaks during summer and getting on them then, but pool gets a lot of use with grandkids in and out so wasn’t surprised to have to add water.
Was told the reset wasn’t guaranteed too - still, this has left a bad taste in my mouth. -
Walked in excited to do business with this company. But all i got when i walked through the doors were snickering and whispering to one another. Approached the young lady and brought in my pool sample to get cleaned and she immediately told me it was 17k. I was confused and asked the break down. Long story short she was giving me attitude and seemed like she didnt want to help. Ill take my business elsewhere.

AP&S has been our pool open/closed for a few years. We have been very pleased with our service. This years closing was unfortunately not the same. Every pool opening/closing had a section designated just for opting in/out of chemicals added to the pool. This season they changed their paperwork without warning. I admit I didn’t look at it better, but I felt they used that opportunity to then add an additional $200 for “chemicals” to my pool. No conversation, just an additional $200 charge. On top of the $50 extra they were charging for my closing. I felt the lack of customer service was evident and left me feeling robbed. I felt taken advantage of. I will be looking for a new company for our pool needs in the future.

Great service! Our first contractor didn't complete the job. Angie's came out and finished the job in no time. Excellent customer service! Everyone is very knowledgeable and courteous. Love our new pool!

Don't walk RUN!
Angie when your people came to replace our "L" shape pool liner that turned out, by your diagram of our pool, to be completely backwards and left us without our pool for almost a month. Don't you think 🤔 u might pick the phone up and call us? But u didn't
When Josh Henry infatically defended invoices charging us for chemicals for project when factually your people used most of our chemicals and absolutely NO salt. Boarder line theft before finally getting a credit back per Josh Henry self admission of the over sight. Don't u think as the owner of the company u might pick the phone up and call us 🤔? But u didn't.
When the pool was finally opened and I brought it to your attention that the brand new pump I had just installed prior to this disaster liner replacement and that we had bubbles coming through returns indicating a leak. Don't u think as the owner of the company u might send someone out to check it out? But u didn't
When I personally called u and left two messages to please return my call. Nope u didn't
Probably because per Josh Henry email stating Angie's Pool would no longer talk to me. Amazing as that is.
Just so u know. The bubbles coming through return was a broken handle. When Cody reopened pool he broke handle on suction side leaving it half open. Cost me $300.00 to repair it.
The new pump I had just put on a few months prior to shutting pool down for almost a month was squealing and had to be replaced $690.00. Per Josh Henry email not Angie's Pool fault...pools sit through winter and reopened with no issues. What Josh didn't realize or just ignored is when winterized the system is blown out of any salt water.
You did apologize for this disaster and gave some credits. However, I didn't want credits I just wanted our pool to be back in working order as it was found.
When it came time to get paid and I pointed out all these issues. What did Angie herself do. Threaten collections.
No need to tell me not to come back to your store as u did another unsatisfied customer. We obviously wouldn't do business with Angie's Pool again. -
I called to get on schedule for opening my pool and wanted to get signed up for weekly service. They came out to open my pool and found my pool pump needed replaced. I signed quote on Tuesday. Was later informed the distributor does not have the pump. I signed the weekly service agreement. Called the office and another lady told me the pump was in stock at their vendor, that they needed payment in order to move forward. Which is it? You need payment or the distributor doesn't have the pump? Poor customer service.

Horrible service. Do not
call or ask this place to clean your pool. We were charged a ridiculous amount of $ for my pool to still be dirty. these people are money hungry and don’t even try to make it work . I’m even kind enough to give them a one star. The cleaning services don’t put any effort in my pool at all and for future purposes, find a different company and don’t waste your time!!!!!! -
I had an excellent experience with Angie's pool and spa. Their team came to clean our hot tub and they were very professional and informative. Thank you very much for your quick response and instructions.

This was messaged and tried twice to get some sort of communications. Still not a word back so heres the review. I needed to reduce the chlorine levels and was assured that this could not be done without dilution or time. I specifically mentioned i found that there was a product I found online. Don’t remember the name of it but provided it to the girl helping. She continues to assure me “chlorine reduction” isn’t a thing and that would only reduce the PH…I found the support I needed even closer to my home. I stopped by Leslie’s on the way home. Thus the message sent right away to Angie’s on FB. In the past, I stuck with Angie’s as I try and support small and local. Unfortunately the bigger chain around the corner met customer service far better so I will shorten my drive to get ongoing products and support elsewhere. Thanks and the Leslie’s product worked well and is exactly what I needed. They even provided me with a bottle to do free water testing.

Sorry but I cannot & Do not recommend -
reason- unfriendly staff made me feel unwelcome -
Angie’s is very family friendly. They don’t try and swindle people out of more money by pushing more chemicals or unneeded services. They are a small business who is still down to earth and in touch with the community. You can trust them to do their best to help you.
